Kevin Wilson Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 I think most people assumed when HHH took over that Sasha was going back to WWE, and of course it could still happen but so much time has passed that its starting to appear that things aren't quite that simple. The only way I figured she wouldn't re-sign with them is if WWE didn't want to give her a contract such that she could still do outside ventures. The New Japan date also lines up with what we had heard a couple months ago, that Sasha would be free for wrestling-related bookings after January 1st. I never thought Sasha Banks was going to AEW or Stardom, she always seemed destined to patch things up with WWE. The spotlight there is just so big and its where she came up. The ONLY reason I could see her not going back is her Hollywood pursuits, and other promotions being more flexible with her scheduling. January is going to be wild, as she could very well do something in New Japan and still be a surprise Rumble entry anyway to get the ball rolling for WrestleMania. I think we'll be seeing Sasha again in the ring in the next couple months one way or the other. 1
odessasteps Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 As someone only casually following the story, I figured this was the company allowing her to do a one off like they are with Shinsuke and Muta.

I'd agree with you if it wasn't for those rumors months ago that she was free to do wrestling stuff starting January 1st, and then this is announced for right after that. I just don't see them letting her take part in New Japan's biggest event of the year, that wouldn't be like them to do anything to help New Japan (the Karl Anderson situation was different since it was probably agreed upon before signing). Unless HHH really has a different outlook than Vince did about such things. It will be interesting to watch, my gut still expects her to return to WWE in time for a WM feud, that still seems like the most likely outcome. But the leaking of her going to New Japan even for a meeting of some sort makes things a bit more spicy.
S.K.o.S. Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 It's got to be something more than just a meeting with New Japan. She can't be flying all the way to Japan just for something they could've accomplished with a Zoom call and maybe e-signing some documents. I'm not 100% that she'll have a match on the 4th, but she must be appearing on the show in some capacity.
matt925 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 The observer confirmed that the winner of Kairi vs tam is wrestling in San Jose. Someone has to come out to challenge after the match.

AxB Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Didn't Sasha say that her original ambition in Wrestling was to make it to Japan, but that WWE signed her before that could happen?

Happ Hazzard Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Did Jim Neidhart appear on TV as a singles heel in 1988? He was working singles matches against babyfaces at house shows while Bret was working singles against Bad News Brown and other heels. But AFAIK they never acknowledged any split between the two and they were back together as a team by SummerSlam,
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Apparently Dave is saying Sasha to New Japan could be multiple dates but not full time. He speculates Sasha could eye AEW as well.

Her annoyance with WWE is deeper than I thought, or the flexibility of a New Japan deal (with AEW?) allows her still to do acting and whatever else she wants to do while the WWE offer didn't. I really thought WWE would do whatever it took to re-sign her and make her happy, at least for a little while.

matt925 Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 If she also signs with aew that will probably make her new japan deal Japan only. It will be interesting to see either way. I’d even be happy seeing her back at the royal rumble, but I would really like to see her have a run with stardom.
John E. Dynamite Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) Snoop Dogg owns a line of pet accessories. His face is on a bottle of mass-produced Australian wine. There is a Snoop Dogg themed DLC bundle in Call of Duty. He has created long-lasting advertising synergy with Martha Stewart - I think they even did a cookbook together. You're not gonna believe this one, he owns a weed brand. He has a YouTube channel dedicated to children's songs with millions of views for classics like "The Wheels on the Bus". Lest we forget his directorial debut that was named the best-selling title of the 2002 porn awards. Maybe, maybe maybe, his cousin is looking at all this and thinking to herself "it might be a good idea to own my personal brand and image". Edited December 11, 2022 by John E. Dynamite 10
SirFozzie Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) I've been good, Santa Tony.. at least good enough. Please give us Keith Lee, Miro, and Samoa Joe (as a group) just running over people in vast swaths of destruction in 2023. AEW? ROH? Indies? Doesn't matter. Just give us big girthy men destroying smaller jumpy flippy wrestlers in a reign of terror. Edited December 11, 2022 by SirFozzie 6

Not really sure what that's all about but apparently she's the owner.

notoriusvig Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 Personally, I think Sasha should be patient, and prove to the WWE she doesn't need them. Go reinvent yourself for a year or two, or do it in AEW, and say screw them for the long haul. She's got a ton of charisma and as long as she doesn't walk out, she'll make it. 3

If she wants to stick to California-area shows, she would be a nice get for that rumored AAA show Mania weekend in Los Angeles - but New Japan and AAA historically don't play nice because of the existing NJPW/CMLL partnership, so it probably won't happen
