SirSmUgly Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I feel like Ambrose/Nakamura would be great just for the sleazebaggiest and creepiest pairing to come down the pike in a long time in pro wrestling. Nakamura looks like a long-lost McPoyle sibling from Japan and Ambrose probably huffs paint under bridges so...yeah, it'd be like Liam vs. Charlie on "It's Always Sunny," except in wrestling. I'd pay for that. 1
Cristobal Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Styles/Gallows vs KENTA/Devitt. Marvel at which team is WWE and which team is NJPW. 2
Curt McGirt Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Ambrose vs. Suzuki (yeah I know he's freelance) ...or Ambrose vs. Gedo EDIT: Ambrose/Nakamura would make a great tag team. Put them up against KENTA (now that he's hired) and Shibata, or just do KENTA vs. Shibata. Battle of the kickers! Who gets to face Liger?
nofuture Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Cesaro vs Suzuki in a Gotch finisher battle. 2
RandomAct Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I would actually fucking love Taker vs Nagata. 1
Vincey Greene Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I am in the midst of watching Nitros from right before the nWo. Hogan gets the same response as Cena. Almost as much Hulk merch in the crowd, also. Does this mean Bischoff shouldn't have turned Hogan? Does this mean Vince wouldn't have turned Hogan? (Note: I'm not so sure Vince should turn Cena, but it's a constant conversation among my RL wrestling fan friends, and Cena = 2014 Hogan, so.....)
The Nature Boy Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 That actually leads me to an interesting thought: What if Vince had turned Hogan heel in 1993 and feuded him with Bret?
Technico Support Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Wouldn't have turned heel or wouldn't have lowered himself to do a program with Bret? NOTE: "Both" is an acceptable answer. 1
Ultimo Necro Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I feel like Ishii vs. Sheamus would either be the greatest thing ever or the most underwhelming thing ever.
Dewar Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 How much of the Hogan WCW merch was comped? I don't imagine anyone is getting free Cena shirts, but I bet a bunch of people got free Hulkamania shirts in the WCW days. 1
Beech27 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I'd spend a paycheck to see Nakamura/Ambrose. BUT I need a pre match press conference too.
Cobra Commander Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 nobody will be surprised by this but.. Brian Wilson says he might look into going into the WWE post-baseball. For those not into baseball: that's Brian Wilson. He's a benign lunatic.
JohnnyJ Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 My impression is the live audience for ppvs and raws tends to skew older and smarkier. It gives the appearance that the Cena hate is much stronger than it actually is. The example I always give is I attended a house show at MSG in late 2012 headlined by Cena v. Ziggler in a cage. This was less than a week after the match they had at the TLC ppv which was Ziggler's coming out party. At the ppv Ziggler was the face and Cena was the heel. Yet at the house show, which was filled with families, Cena was crazy over. The kids were losing their minds for him and Ziggler came out to minimal reaction.
cool arrow Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Who's more insane: baseball's Brian Wilson or music's Brian Wilson?
Curt McGirt Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I doubt the baseball dude ever offered his underage daughter LSD. 2
Bustronaut Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I've ramped up my unironic use of "Brother" in the past couple of months. It's kinda fun. Curt! Let's do Thursday Night Throwdown on 10/16!
kafkonia Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Wilson kind of looks like CM Punk with a stick-on beard.
Curt McGirt Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Mike: I might be able to but we'll see; I might be back to work by then depending on some x-rays tomorrow. If not the only thing getting in the way would be band practice because we're doing the Misfits cover band for Halloween again this year. I'll let you know!
Cobra Commander Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Wilson kind of looks like CM Punk with a stick-on beard. "You know, if we bring in a new CM Punk, then we can pretend the chants are for our CM Punk" - WWE braintrust
Dre013 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 The network folks are smarter than I thought. McMahon was predicting NASCAR-like compensation for their last TV deal, and everyone balked except for USA at a fraction of what he predicted. Ratings for this week, from the NYC hub, 2.63. Lowest since 2012. Panic and chaos coming soon.
Johnny Sorrow Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 How much of the Hogan WCW merch was comped? I don't imagine anyone is getting free Cena shirts, but I bet a bunch of people got free Hulkamania shirts in the WCW days.Oh they were totally papering the crowd with free Hogan merch before the turn.
