2023 NFL OFFSEASON

RIPPA

Its crazy how much the 49ers gave up to pick Trey Lance that they are now open to unloading him, even with Purdy's injury. To me it shows that they haven't been thrilled with his progress in practices. If they thought he was coming along great, they'd have him play in September (or however long Purdy will be out) and then trade him at the deadline once Purdy was healthy for a nice bounty, basically they are trying to unload him without teams really knowing how good he is since the only real game tape was from the crazy weather game. I'd be curious what kind of offers they are getting and who is willing to take a chance on him.

To clarify the suspension thing:

The three players that are suspended for a year (Cephus, Moore, Toney) are suspended for a year+ because they bet on NFL games.

The other two (Berryhill, Williams) are suspended for six games because they bet on non-NFL events, but did so from the team facility. . .which is just stupid. I mean, go back to your house or apartment or whatever.

The Lions immediately released the two idiots who bet on NFL games.

Not mentioned in the tweets is that Detroit fired a bunch of non-player personnel last month for violating the gambling policy.

Read more about the suspensions on NFL.com, sponsored by bet365.  Check out the story on Draft Kings presents NFL tonight on the NFL Network.  See it inbetween BetMGM commercials.  And while you're at the games this season, if you're at MetLife, FedEx, or State Farm, stop by the "Open during the games" Sportsbooks...

I get the betting on your team is an issue, but the NFL is fucking littered with ties to gambling.  I can't take an organization seriously that punishes players for behavior's they ACTIVELY ENDORSE IN EVERY OTHER INSTANCE.

Gambleception, when fans are allowed to bet on which players will get suspended for betting on games.  Can't wait.

Are we all just forgetting that Rodgers was pretty average last year and is another year older, going into a system with only one quality WR? I know some people here only care about passing TDs as a stat to evaluate QBs but Rodgers was 21st in completion percentage, 17th in QB Rating, and 26th in QBR last year. And continuously failed the Eyeball Test of anyone that watched their games. I'm not doubting he is better than Zach Wilson, he's an upgrade for sure, but I don't think fans of other AFC East teams will be shaking in their boots unless he can show in weeks 1 to 4 that he is suddenly back to his MVP form.

Aaron might be better than Tua. If you’re a Tua Stan, your biggest fear should be if he ends up as Chris Chandler 2.0 aka Crystal Chandelier.

I’m glad he can’t directly hurt my Bears anymore.

Two things...

1) Crystal Chandelier is an underrated good ass nickname. Clever and vicious.

2) Shut up.

I thought he was legitimately bad last season. I'm a Rodgers fan,  before Mahomes, I thought he was the single most talented quarterback of all time. I wouldn't have traded for him. There just hasn't been enough quarterbacks at his age who were with a damn.

I'm not sure I'd say "bad" but definitely average at best. He definitely wasn't the best QB in the division last year. That was Jared Goff.

Wasn't "The Crystal Chandelier" a bar in Atlanta where WCW ran house shows in 93/94?

Washington has decided not to pick up the 5th option on Chase Young

Which isn't really surprising.

God - the Giants are so lucky to have won that one game to dodge that bullet
