2023 NFL OFFSEASON

RIPPA

Recommended Posts

There is a leaked schedule out there that has the Giants playing SEVEN road games in the first nine weeks of the season (and one of the two home games during that time is against the Jets - the team they share a stadium with)

I will believe it when I see it since I think folks are falling for the same fake accounts they did last year

It is hard to imagine that the NFL would unbalance a schedule that much (on both sides - since the 2nd half would mean only one road game the rest of the way) but this is also the NFL which has clearly changed its focus away from equity.

If only there were a sizeable football stadium a reasonably short drive away from Jax... 🤔

Wanted to look up and and see who owns Daley's Place, the city (yes) or the Khans (no)

If Jax moves to San Antionio, does AEW go too? They could run at The Junction, just like Joe Blanchard did.

Isn't there a building in Stamford that's sitting empty now?   Maybe they could go there.

Tony could always go to Bixby, OK and buy 118 West Breckenridge or go to Charlotte and buy the former convenience store on Briarbend Drive.

I'm sure 2300 Arena's owners would sell in 2 seconds if TK came sniffing around.  Of course, Tony would have to see if Kimona's busy.

God this stupid schedule cannot come out fast enough. . .

Also, this means less than nothing, but the current SoS's:

The Chiefs have 8 games (which technically could become 9 depending on when they play Week 18) where they will be the only game on TV

2 Thursday games, 3 Mondays games, 2 Sunday Night Games and 1 International Game (that starts at 9:30 AM EST)

That Titans video is the gold standard.

I wonder if we're about to get a season of Bears fans singing Seth's song during games. The new Seven Nation Army.

with the schedule release, it's time to guess your team's W/L record in May

as for AEW... guessing that the Astrodome isn't available for AEW

The story of the Astrodome after it was no longer used as a baseball stadium is a fascinating tale of city planning, bonds, permitting, and money. And a few years ago it was (rightly) declared a State Antiquities Landmark (a protected historic structure) which makes renovation/repurposing even more difficult.

Bengals opening the season away at Cleveland and then closing against Cleveland at home is interesting. First time that's ever happened I think. Then again, my football knowledge only goes back to the 90s (and a bit of the 80s). I can see why they put the Bills game in primetime, it'll be the first time the Bills come back to Cincy since the Damar Hamlin incident and they want to get as many eyeballs on that as possible. Also, it's Burrow vs. Josh Allen. Also, random question ... if more than half of these games are marked as "flex games" then why even list a start time and not leave them as TBD like they did with the Bengals/Vikings game and the end of season Bengals/Browns game?

Have the Bengals ever had a Thanksgiving Day game?

EDIT: Yes they have. In 2010 apparently and I have zero memory of that game.

Yeah - it shows you again the power the Amazon deal is now gonna have over the NFL

In further reading - apparently the 2nd choice game (besides Fins/Jets) was Giants/Eagles so it was clear once Amazon said they wanted a New York team, they were getting a New York team
