  1. I'd rather they use Brock to make every Renier Wolfcastle film from the Simpsons a reality I yearn for "Undercover Nerd" to be an actual thing on my iTunes! James

  15. Seeing this made me curious: I knew Kento's first reign was very long, so I wondered how long his second would need to be in order to pass Kobashi--who won the belt(s) three times, but never seemed to hold them for long--on the list of most days spent as TC Champ. In fact, Miyahara's first reign was enough, at 464 days; Kobashi only held the belt(s) for a total of 431 days. Not really shocking, considering Kobashi's famous ace run was in NOAH, whereas Misawa basically dominated the title scene in All Japan. For reference, he totaled 1799 days (a record) over five reigns (tied with Suwama and Kawada for the most) with 21 defenses (also the most); all marks, you have to think, Miyahara might eventually threaten. (He's at 8 defenses already.) I suppose I've got records on the mind, considering what Okada is on the verge of accomplishing with his current IWGP reign. (An aside: It's awesome that Kobashi posing happily has become such a prolific genre.)

  21. I understand that Cam looked pretty poor to begin the game, I won't argue that, but I feel like this is what Panther football is supposed to look like. Wear teams down with the run game and long drives, keep our defense fresh, keep the lead, and let our D-Line feast. If we can refine what we are doing today, there is no reason why we can't be exceptionally successful this year. This is a formula that puts us in position to win championships. This is only week one so I will pump the breaks on the optimism some but this could work out very nicely if we execute.

  27. Could be, but it's also worth remembering Square's window for what counts as a successful game is notoriously fucked. Like, the first remade Tomb Raider was internally considered a flop. From Eurogamer: Also, all that shit that just happened with Hitman is another peek at their high internal bars, as well as Final Fantasy XV making it's development budget back in a weekend and FF14 putting up WoW subscriber numbers with the same monthly fee. Not to mention Dragon Quest. Square's barometer for success is adjusted to them being The Hottest Shit In Japan, and not Modestly Successful In The US.

  34. The LAW dudes aren't as bad now as they have been in the past. If anything they can come off as overly critical of the TNAGFWIMPACT product. And if they are talking about a news story regarding GFW they will almost always preface it with a disclosure that both the LAW and GFW are owned by the same parent company. They've talked pretty openly about how it puts them in an awkward position when covering those stories because of that. John Pollock put it pretty well saying that the same parent company owns TSN and the Toronto Blue Jays and if a negative story came out about The Jays, TSN would still cover it and he wants the LAW to be the same.

  37. Do you find something comical about my appearance when I am driving my automobile? Everyone needs to drive a vehicle, even the very tall. This was the largest auto I could afford. Should I therefore be made the subject of fun, huh? Would you like it if others laughed at YOUR misfortune, hmm? Maybe we should find out! [Pulls down Enzo's pants and commands him to walk down to the ring] ? Nowwww march! Hey, everyone! Look at this; it's that boy who laughs at everyone! Let's laugh at him! Greeting the people!
