  2. The matches with Roode were better than the Zayn match.

  3. WWE should figure out how to use the 500 wrestlers they have under contract before worrying about Kenny

  4. Apparently Ambrose took a curb-stomp from Rollins to end last night's show and stayed in the ring selling until after everyone left. ?

  5. Nakamura ran into the same issue that everyone runs into. Nobody outside of Roman is a priority. They don't have longterm plans for 99% of the roster. It's all about "moments". Nakamura winning the Royal Rumble was a "moment". Nakamura vs. AJ was a "moment". The shitty feud that followed is nothing, no real plan outside of they need these guys to work each other for the next few months. How do we get there? Who cares.

  6. Nah... I like AEW. One day you can have Tim Allen doing the bumpers with his signature grunts.

  15. We can no longer be friends, James. Josie & The Pussycats is brilliant & scathing social commentary satirizing the commercialization of the music industry. Also, Rachael Leigh Cook and Rosario Dawson were smoking hot.

  16. Nakamura is what we thought he'd be, super charismatic and super lazy.

  17. Last month Mandy had some minor surgery to remove a cyst that had shown up on her back. Since she HATES wearing anything on her neck, not even a collar, the cone of shame was straight out... especially after she almost strangled herself to death trying to pull it off her head after she was fixed last year. We got her a surgical onesie that actually worked out nicely. We were housecleaning and Cindy had placed her pillow and comforter on the couch- Mandy helped herself to the pile, leading to the above adorableness.

  18. Nak debuted as a big deal in NXT, had a long run as NXT champion/ace, debuted as a big deal in the main roster, got clean wins over Orton and Cena, won the Royal Rumble, and challenged for the World title at Mania. I get that 1. the Dolph match sucked, 2. the racist angles and low blow stuff sucked, and 3. most on the board would only have been satisfied with him squashing Jinder for the title and getting a year long run, but this idea that Nak was somehow not pushed is silly - Omega would be in a great spot if he got similar treatment from WWE.

  22. That Kenny thing sounds like a work. His contract expires on same day as Kushida's. One got announced openly and another is doing "got to take a break" angle. This is similar to to what he did after his first match against Okada. Like whole "I can't work under Tanahashi" line sounds something that a guy who wants revenge would say, not someone who is leaving. And they also announced that Ibushi will be taking the next tour off due to concussion. This to me clearly implies that Ibushi is returning for at least Anniversary/NJ Cup shows. Edit: As for juniors division, I really don't think that they would have moved to Sumo Hall if they were not 1000% sure that Hiromu is coming back.

  23. No he didn't. He said fans would be pleased if he went to either of those places but he said he wants to be happy. His interview is more vague than it initially seems. Buddy is staying and there's nothing anybody can say to convince me otherwise.

  28. Gladly! It's purely a personal opinion. The first commentary team I remember seeing/hearing as a kid was Lord Alfred and Sean Mooney. That combination worked really well together, and over the years I just enjoyed Lord Alfred more and more. He was versatile, well spoken, and humorous. I loved hearing Mooney tell more stories about the man himself as he was away from television/PPV. I realize he may not be as high on the list as others, but I always enjoyed him. Alfred, but I do enjoy some DOOT DOOT DOOT every now and again.

  30. No, but neither had one in Japan either. Styles did win a WON MOTY for his G1 match against Minoru Suzuki, but Dave only clocked that at 4.75. Joe/Styles/Daniels from TNA got the full five, and Joe has two others in ROH, against Kobashi and Punk. Anyway, Nakamura is who he's always been. People who watched him really go a handful of times a year thought that's what he did all the time--they were wrong. WWE fans also don't have the investment in his character arc, from generic would-be savior to self-styled King. (A bit like the issue Bayley has had on the main roster, really. The product isn't as compelling if you didn't see the journey.)

  31. Having watched and spent too much time bouncing around wrestletwitter, I present the following stupid speculation: It seems like Kenny goes to AEW, and will then work a handful of New Japan dates as an attraction, possibly/probably free from a real AEW partnership. This can't happen yet, though, because ROH still has some leverage due to the MSG show. And of course, people have spent hours losing their minds over Dave's claim that things are changing every minute. Oh, oh, I know! Maybe New Japan expected to get a sweetheart deal from Omega, and he's insisting they fully partner with his friends, or lose him altogether? God. I really hate that I'm invested in all this. I also don't like Jay's blue hair. He already borders on mall punk scenester without it; no need to invite the comparisons even further.

  32. All this talk of Judgement Night, and nobody brings up the soundtrack sequel? Spawn, lads. Slayer & Atari Teenage Riot united at last! Marilyn Manson letting Kellie from Sneaker Pimps add backing vocals to a track they've already finished! And the movie were SHITE!

  34. Easy answer for me. From I Am Number Four, this is Civil Twilight's "Letters from the Sky" The movie is a mess of a teen romantic, sci-fi alien invasion(?). So whatever, but this song is god damned epic.

  35. I got a boxed set of the three most recent novels in N.K Jemisin's Broken Earth series (The Fifth Season, The Obelisk Gate. The Stone Sky) for Christmas, but I will not allow myself to start them until I crank out this review for OSJ's horror compendium, Darkness, My Old Friend, that I keep yammering on about. My goal is to have this thing done and posted here by the end of February or March by the latest. Personal shit keeps torpedoing my free time. If I'm not rushing to the assisted living center because my crazy father has picked a fight with a nurse or having my sleep schedule destroyed by the army of the Republic of South Korea because they want to drill when Pyongyang is pissing them off, it's something else. Pray for a brotha.

So far, the card is as follows: MLW Heavyweight Title: Low Ki (c) vs. Filthy Tom Lawlor MLW Tag Team Titles: Lucha Brothers (c) (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) vs. The Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart & Davey Boy Smth Jr. w/ Brian Pillman Jr.)

  37. I feel like the Omega to WWE rumors were probably leaked by the Elite to make it seem more “surprising” when Omega shows up at the AEW rally. It will give them a perceived early victory over WWE by signing the hottest free agent in professional wrestling history.

  39. Mario 64 might be the only game I've ever played that actually took "this game has an awkward camera because we haven't mastered that in the year 1996" and actually turned it into a real game mechanic. Like, there are secrets and hidden stars and stuff that are specifically placed to take advantage of the natural discovery process of fucking around with the camera while playing the game for the first time. It's taking a really shitty technical problem and making an actual good game mechanic out of it. There are SO MANY games from this era that could have used this design trick to their advantage but just weren't clever enough to actually do it.

  41. Or a feud with Big Show. Or Kane. Who cares if he's a mayor? Three months later... "Dammit pal! This guy with the Bret Hart hair just isn't over with the crowd! I need these guys from Japan to be more like AJ and you just gave me another bigger Hornswaggle."

  43. At this point, fuck injuries, fuck struggling QB play, at this point, the Eagles appear driven purely by divine intervention, and Foles has turned out to be the true messiah of this franchise. I expect the game in New Orleans to begin with the giant Monty Python foot stepping on Drew Brees before the opening kickoff.
