  1. If we're gonna drag Lars, let's drag him for the racism and homophobia, not the past as a sex worker or whatever conflicted feelings he may have about his sexuality.

  8. Not the best, but Cena vs Federline is worth a shout. And Kaufman/Lawler.

  9. I recommend the "Russian" category. The things those people can do in a sketchy looking apartment... *chef's kiss* Oh wait, you were probably talking about Lars, and not speaking generally. Never mind.

  10. I never had any doubt that Miami would pull it off in Foxboro(ugh)! Holy shit... Chiefs with that bye. Beautiful, beautiful!

  13. The main event was an absolute corker: GAINA & HUB defending their tag titles against the indy dream team of Gamma & Super Shisa. It was also really cool to see Buffalo & Tsubasa back together working heel as Infinity in their black outfits. The best thing, though, was to share something I love with some new friends, (and also to have my new friends meet my old friends, and also just to see so many old friends again). There were a lot of new faces in the small crowd, but also a lot of people I hadn't seen for about five years and in every case the reunion was a very happy one. There was even one Osaka Pro fan who knew Chizuki from her English events, a very nice young woman named Mie: We all got packages of Wakame (a strong-tasting, in this case dried, seaweed that is quite nice with sake) and after the show (after Kenji and I helped break down the decorations while everyone else waited) we all went to a very nice Mexican restaurant in the Fukushima area of Osaka, a nice 18-minute walk from Noda Citizen's Hall (where the show was held). That was a pretty cool meal, with Japanese, English, Spanish, and French all being spoken at various times by various people (Gorge speaks French fluently. I cracked he and Esteve up with my basic Canadian high school French). The food was excellent, the conversation even better. I caught one of the last trains home.

  18. I was there live. It was the tail end of an epic weekend in which I woke up Friday morning in Miami and didn't sleep until Sunday night after Wrestlemania in Orlando. It was also fitting that I partied "Horsemen Style" leading up to Ric's retirement. Trust me, I made him proud the prior 2 days and nights lol.

  20. Allie Kat looked pretty fucked up after her match too. Indie wrestling really kind of sucks now for the most part. Amazing with how hot it was just a couple of years ago. It's going to take a long time to build up some star caliber talent. edit: Long doesn't always equal good but for the best storytellers you need time. However, we could all use more Giant vs. Meng type kaiju battles that are sub five minutes. And when a top guy is in there with a JTTS, you don't need to go 10+.

  26. Not a chance. Shitzpatrick shows up just as often as FitzMagic does, so 9-7 maximum.

  27. It would make the shows more fun to watch. I would gladly take 10 minutes of stuff like, say, Shingo vs Minoru or an Ishii/EVIL rematch over these lame tags.

  28. Gotta love Week 17, aka JV Week in the NFL (again I remind you that the best tactical move for Baltimore to make this week would literally be to no-show and forfeit)

  30. Birmingham vs Leeds was a bit mental. 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4, 4-5. And somehow West Brom contrived to lose to Middlesbrough. Oh, and Rangers beat Celtic away for the first time in like a decade.

  33. Receiver planted and headed towards the corner of the end zone and fell, because he assumed the QB had to be scrambling at that point. Unlucky for the QB. he didn't do anything wrong.

  34. The other view is.. if I wanted to watch a US TV product, I'd watch one of the 4 promotions in the US with TV. I watch NJPW because I want to watch NJPW, not a US product with Japanese wrestlers.

  35. I don't think anyone really thinks it's a big deal, but it is certainly a detail that they have no excuse for overlooking. Someone is a dumbass for letting it happen (I have to assume this is Kenny), and it made the organization look like dumbasses by extension. Also, a match for the AEW Women's title should be the most important match of Kris's career, no? You can trumpet her keeping her commitments all you want to - she chose to wrestle another match instead of wrestling for the AEW Women's title. The company line might be "we postponed the match so she wouldn't have to choose," but kayfabe-wise Kris should have been like "nah, fuck that, I'm working that match so I can get that very-important Women's title." It's essentially Khan announcing that these other shows are just as important as AEW shows, and while that might fly with hardcore wrestling fans that follow 20 organizations and care primarily about how happy the workers are, it doesn't make AEW look all that special. Yeah, it isn't going to sink the company, but the little things are *important*. An accumulation of small details being overlooked could certainly have an affect on business - see WCW 1999. It isn't "this fucking company is DOOMED," it's "this company needs to stop letting this kind of shit happen immediately." If it takes signing people to exclusive deals, then that's what they need to do.

  38. I noticed a thinning spot on the back of my head the last time I got my haircut. I'm not ready for losing hair yet. I was blessed with a nice, thick head of curly brown hair. My father isn't completely bald, but he does have a large bald spot on the back of his head. I know guys I went to high school with who were completely bald in their 20's. As for important life issues, I'm still looking for a job after being unceremoniously dumped by the last company I was with. The depression has been up and down. Some days, I'm barely able to drag myself out of bed, but I still do. There haven't been any days I've just slept through. My psychiatrist also put me on a medication to help curb the cocaine cravings I had been having. Hopefully, I hear something on the job front after the new year. I'm going to try to enjoy Christmas Eve with the Greek side of the family and Christmas Day with the Italian side. I got my Bullet Club Christmas sweater just in time, so I'll have pictures in that and my ELP-like LED glasses. Things aren't as good as they could be, but they could be a whole lot worse. Happy holidays and best wishes to my big, twisted DVDVR family. Let's make this year the best Festivus ever!

  39. This could be said in pretty much any television thread, but the internet-driven way of breaking down every episode, judging them individually, and determining now what it means for the entire season/story is just fucking weird to me. Like imagine if we did that with chapters of a book. Anyway I dig The Mandalorian and see it as a weekly jaunt through the extended SW world, and don't think it necessarily needs a ton of gravitas, deep storytelling, etc. I'm enjoying the ride.

  42. It took a while but he's found his footing inring wise. Some of his matches in New Japan felt like he was trying to fit the your generic early 10's style into a modern New Japan style match. His matches felt stretched out to long like a HHH WrestleMania where he out going long because he feels he has too. Cody is great now. Ryan Satin felt the need to state that he was not employed by WWE but FOX only. It dont care either way whether or not he's employed by WWE but I see tons of people giving him shit for softening up on WWE in the past few months. What's does he have to prove to these sharks on Wrestling Twitter when he is nicely employed my bc one of the top tv networks. He may not the a WWE employee but he's assigned to a show that is closely associated with the WWE. What should people expect and why should he care what these guys this.

  44. Hard to believe that Almas/Gargano is WWF/E's 6th 5* match. Off the top I'd have both Michaels/Taker mania matches, Bate/Dunne, AJ/Cena & Brock/Roman ahead of it. Shit there's probably hundreds.

  46. I'm watching Batman: The Brave and The Bold through Netflix streaming right now. It's great, love the non-ironic cheesy humor and seeing all these heroes/villains that are new to me. I haven't gotten to the Music Meister show yet. The Bat-Mite episode, however, was ACES!
