  1. I don’t buy this whole “Bock was gonna be Mr. Perfect “ bullshit. Bock was done then. And if any of you dum dums are actually shitting on Nick Mother Fucking Bockwinkel...Wow. I blame Trump. Because only the sub intelligent population who spend their precious moments away from their sad and depressing lives at the Wrestling Matches, would be booing a man like Nick Bockwinkel. A man who is clearly the better of all other men. These Ham and Eggers, as Bobby is prone to say, are so blinded by their preconceived notions and the utter flim flamery of Verne Gagne and the flawed opinions of the rest of the so called “ Leaders” of Professional Wrestling Criticism “ that they can’t see what’s right in front of their sad and confused faces. And that is the clear and undeniable fact that Nick Bockwinkel Fucking rules.

  7. I can understand if people aren't thrilled with the Luke characterization, but I think what people need to realize is that his story in TLJ is Johnson trying to make chicken salad out of the chicken shit Luke that Abrams dreamed up in TFA. HE'S the one who decided Luke would turn coward and flee to the far reaches of the galaxy while the Republic went to shit. JJ dropped that turd in Johnson's lap and left it up to him to explain that bullshit and resolve it in a dramatically satisfying way. And that's the key thing: Once you've made an extreme character decision like that, you can't just hand-wave it away and have Luke be like, "A'ight, let's roll" in the beginning of this movie. Whatever could possibly have caused the Luke at the end of ROTJ to abandon the galaxy HAD to be something so dark and traumatic that he couldn't just get over it in Act 1. It has to be a process. The movie has to EARN the glimpse of the old (young?) Luke Skywalker at the end. And it does. So anyone who's not thrilled with Luke's arc in this movie, thank JJ. But also thank Johnson for turning that character assassination into a really beautiful character arc in the end.

  8. I’d rather watch the roster play weekly 2-on-2 foosball. Make it TV-MA and let Gallows and Anderson host it while getting tanked, doing running commentary like on Talkin’ Shop/Jericho and Austin’s podcasts.

  9. I loved this movie. THIS is what I wanted out of Star Wars when they decided to let new filmmakers play in Lucas's sandbox. Don't just feed me the same shit in slightly different form. Let someone with a fresh perspective come in, tell a story in their unique voice, and maybe even subvert or change our expectations of what a SW movie is. And, you know, if that takes us down a planet's hairy butthole for a trippy mirror sequence of indeterminate purpose or on a wild goose chase through a lost sequence from the Prequel Trilogy, so be it, because the sum is infinitely greater than it's parts. I'm just generally a great fan of any genre story where they find a more clever and substantive way to resolve the plot beyond the hero proving he's the fastest gun in the west, or his kung fu is the best, or he can punch the bad guy into the sun, or win a laser sword duel. The characters reveal so much more of themselves when it's more than a matter of who can be the most effectively violent. I love that Johnson turned his nose up at the easy catharis of Luke showing up and mopping the floor with the First Order in favor of a more passive show of power that ultimately proved to be just as great a sacrifice as any glorious death on the battle field. If TFA was a fairly rote retelling of the hero's journey, then TLJ is about redefining what it means to be a hero in the SW universe. "We don't win by killing what we hate, but by protecting what we love" is a powerful thesis statement for this series going forward, and I hope JJ Abrams abides by that line of thinking when he takes up the reins for Ep. IX.

  14. i read the article linked earlier. It states that fans want less rules, more hard hits, etc, etc. and the NFL isn't delivering to fans what they want. The current WWE is more focused on safety and concussions and stuff of that nature than ever before. Also, the WWE routinely does not give the fans what they want. why do people think that a Vince Football League will do what he's never been able to do- deliver what other people want to see, NOT what HE wants to see?

  19. Yeah but if Vince did a football version of 205 Live he would book Johnny Manziel as the Tom Brady of the league Somewhere Triple H is trying to figure out the easier way to poison Vince without getting caught. I mean between losing on the millions on the XFL and losing billions in TWO failed Linda campaigns, and try another football league, they might need a piggy bank

  24. Interesting to see how mixed the reaction is. The pro-TFA, anti-TLJ crowd clearly wanted remakes instead of sequels. TFA was a fine introduction to the new characters, but man they just copy and pasted so much from the orginals. This film took some risks and actually passed the torch to these new characters. Is it really just that people didn't like how they handled Luke?

  25. I wouldn't say he was reckless, as much as he's inexperienced and taking a big step up in competition. Ponzinibio seems to be better coached and has a much better grasp of how to set his opponent up. Ponzinibio had a really smart strategy and still got tagged a lot. This was a close competitive fight that Ponzinibio's experience and strategy won, but Perry never looked like he didn't belong and was competitive throughout. Perry is probably ahead of schedule for a 26-year-old who started fighting 3 years ago. He's a hell of a talent, but Ponzinibio is a really good fighter who is really putting his complete game together.

  31. Oh, I can totally see that -- and I am actually listening to him sing right now. I have a close friend who is a total metalhead and yet cannot stand him at all. It's all personal aesthetics, and I like some pretty weird singers, as noted above. But you HAVE to give him all the other things noted: longevity, variety of style, etc. And then I write that and Broken Lamp comes in and crushes it Damn, dude. No fair. We just trying to have fun here...

  40. I actually like that. Hereditary blood magic is a limiting and problematic trope, and opening the Force up to anyone is better. And I liked killing Snoke too, frankly. It lets Kylo do something Vader never did, which makes him more compelling and not just a cosplayer. My point isn't that those things are bad, just that they were happy to hint at a lot of deeper things regarding both--and then swerve the other way--so I don't think there's reason to look too deep at that character in particular. It seems more consistent with how the film is written to assume he's just who he is.

  42. Really good action packed episode tonight. Loved the womens four way match. KC Spinelli continues to be one of my favorites every time she's on, Madison has been at her best since returning, plus Sienna and Allie are always top notch. Fun X tag and six man tag with a chaotic ending. Kongo dumping Petey in the crowd ruled. Laurel/Rosemary was pretty good stuff with a big match feel being the main event. Awesome closing seg with Callihan and Konnan as well. Sadly that's it for the year as the next two weeks will be Best of 2017 episodes, so Impact returns on Jan 4 2018 with what looks like another solid lineup.

  45. This whole thing illustrates a recurring coda in Stallone's career: he orchestrates a comeback by reminding audiences that he has a certain charm and DIY outsider artist quality. Then he uses the rebuilt equity to remind everyone that he also has terrible instincts and loves easy paychecks.

  46. Cody sucks, the ROH Bullet Club sucks, the ROH booker sucks, Chris Sabin has sucked for years, and poor Alex Shelley deserves better than being stuck with that chump. Ian Riccobani, overly sympathetic to the babyfaces announcer sucks. Heel Briscoes rule, Dalton Castle fucking rules, Silas Young rules, Cody's fur coat rules. There's your ROH weekly television recap.
