It's any fandom... It comes up in in person game tournaments, cons, wrestling events... The fact that it's so prevalent makes me think there is a systemic education issue lol

Ive said this before but there's gotta be a correlation between our fandoms and those with some kind of issue involving executive dysfunction, like ADHD or 'problems at home' as a kid or something. All of it is escapist fiction to hyperfocus on in some form of fashion. I thankfully never got that bad with it, but obviously we've all been around those people - it bums me out they don't have someone in their life to give it to 'em straight like Technico

Who could have imagined having one title, half your division, dedicated to someone who couldn’t work would be detrimental?

She needed to be in WWE so she can 3 - 4 days a week as opposed to 3 -4 days a month. I’m sure she gained some valuable experience working closely with Danielson and Dustin Rhodes and even working against the talent that she got to but it would have took forever if at all for her to become anywhere close to serviceable at the rate she was working. If she would have stayed, maybe she would have gotten a little better after finally losing she could show a little more vulnerability. I think they should have sent her to one of the Joshi promotions and had her do tours in between. Bryan said she showed interest in going to Japan. Kennan is a big fan of her , he could have go her over there to work in between time in AEW. I think at the end of the day WWE is the best place for her , it’s to bad they didn’t see anything in her when she first tried out. She’d be way far ahead, even if she went to AEW later anyways

Guessing that a certain wrestler departing the WWE isn’t about to appear in AEW under the name Rick O’Shea.

Wait, is Ricochet leaving WWE? Is it time to repeat my wish that Tony Khan buy the Lucha Underground IP? Because Ricochet in AEW would be nice, but Prince Puma in AEW would be awesome.

He gave his notice this week.  He will not re-sign when his contract ends this summer.

Getting Ricochet is great news.  But a lack of talent isn’t AEWs problem.  But it could be Ricochets problem if and when he gets lost in the shuffle again.

But I guess a chance to put him with Osprey on tv in North America is a kind of novelty draw.

Yeah I feel bad that AEW wasn't an option for Ricochet earlier in his career... but at this point Samantha is probably more important than he is. I assume he'll have a great first month or two in AEW and people will be glad to see the Ospreay match but he feels destined to be about as lost in the shuffle there as he ended up in WWE. Hope he gets paid.

These three along with Killer Kelly where all at some point competent, Kevin Kelly's AEW run was abhorrent

Buddy, "pure, manufactured PR" is like 90% of all professional wrestling.

They're in the job of selling tickets, so why would they pass up the opportunity to make it "the last chance to see Wrestler X in a WWE ring"  (substitute Gable, Becky, Seth, etc.)  We're all cursed with the internet, so we have a pretty solid idea that this guy's leaving (Edge) or this guy's staying (Gable).  But WWE and AEW are both businesses, and the ultimate job of the business is to make money, so they can stay in business.  (Granted, AEW may be a little different insofaras Tony has a limitless piggybank to mess around with.)

But, let's not pretend that All Elite didn't have ol' scarf face running around during every promo saying "I'm leaving for WWE as soon as I can" while holding their biggest championship.

I feel like you interpreted this as a criticism when it was really just an observation of something that’s becoming more readily apparent.

To the point you’re making, though: Are they really using this to move tickets? To the best of my knowledge, and you might know more than me bc you watch more WWE TV, they don’t mention this stuff overtly on TV or even their main internet presence in a way that would promote ticket sales. It seems mainly back channeled in a way that’s really only designed to “hurt” AEW’s image (I’m not sure how much it really hurts) and massage HHH & Co.’s ego, rather than increase WWE’s business in any meaningful way.

Next NJPW Junior Heavyweight champ

Going to NJPW full time and working AEW in between tours would probably be the best thing if he wants to get his career reinvigorated. But, can NJPW afford him right now, if he is expecting anything close to WWE money?  Would he actually fill a hole NJPW has right now as a main event level gaijin? Would AEW overpay him just to add another toy to the sandbox?

If they could afford him, and if they ran shows more frequently, AAA would be an intriguing option. He might be able to work as "Prince Puma", and he could instantly be their top gringo that AAA has traditionally built their big shows around.

He's got Ospreay who's currently one of the most over guys in that locker room vouching for him. If it was a year ago when Ospreay was still a New Japan talent then maybe I'd say Ricochet would get lost in the shuffle in AEW after awhile. I'm sure if he signs with AEW Ospreay is going to request to do a program with him as soon as he comes in even if they wait for a PPV or 2 after coming in.

A few years ago it was reported that Ricochet was happy with the money he was getting in WWE even though everyone thought he should've left. I think he'll probably for just 2 -3 years if he does sign with AEW or work Japan and the Independents long enough to create a bigger buzz and go back to WWE to be back on the road with his wife before his knee are completely shot.

Good move for him because he seemed content last time his contract was up but it's probably not about the money and he didn't seem frustrated like alot of guys have been. It's more about breaking that glass ceiling.

I've read already that they plan on phasing win off TV. One on hand that would benefit him because he won't be getting beat every week on his way out. If they don't phase him out and he is putting people like Bron over every week,  he'd still be getting exposure before he shows up somewhere else.

He has started to get better with talking segments and that the only thing people say he has against him in WWE but Hunter has to like him just by giving him time to talk more

To me Ricochet is like a Bobby Eaton or a Arn Anderson, maybe not a main event star but certainly someone of value who you can put in a tag team or hold a secondary title. The problem in Vince Land was that your either HBK or you are Marty Janetty. Of course maybe with the new reigme that changes

Exposure, pfffff. That guy doesn't need exposure, he's had plenty, everyone knows who Ricochet is and what he can do.

Personally I think he needs to stay away from AEW. If he goes there and just loses to Ospreay because they won't let anyone except maybe Omega beat Ospreay then what else is there. He's back to status quo in the midcard, holding one of the thousand titles they have. AAA Megachampion? Ehhhh. CMLL? If they'd hire him given the AAA beef. Indies would probably have to pay him too much. He's in a real weird spot.

Except for a one-off like a Gran Prix or Fantasticamania type show, CMLL doesn't typically just bring in folks from outside; That was typically AAA's type of thing. CMLL has shown recently that they are willing to book an outsider if they are going to be around to relocate, or at least work multiple shows (Romero, Andrade, Flip Gordon), but is Ricochet willing to do that if CMLL even had an interest?

I work with autistic high schoolers, and there is something soothing about the presence of constant and enduring characters that appeals to the neuro-divergent. For whatever reason, some of them also struggle with hygiene. Not all of them, but a higher percentage comparatively than the general school population...

I once saw someone on tv at one of those scfi cons talking about how if you have a troubled childhood Star Trek/ Star Wars offered  world to escape to, and I immediately thought "Pro-wrestling".
