I love it when it backfires on him, like trying to call Juice Robinson a taint. BCG responded in the funniest fucking way possible in the moment and in my mind it completely killed Friedman's promo.

Agreed, and that goes back to what Tech said about instinct, IMO. I'd imagine the commonly accepted wisdom there would be to sell Juice's retort like Wyle E. Coyote having the anvil fall on himself instead - not to just (verbally) sandbag him, and go into whatever the next thing is.

In MJF's defense, I will say: my gut is that things like that may be a result of him just not being quite as strong a babyface without the Cole shit surrounding him - or at the very least, you could probably make an argument that he's still "settling in" to the alignment.

I'd also entertain an argument that it's a matter of "intended insincerity" with the idea being that it enhances the eventual re-turn, and you have a building full of mini Bobby Heenan-at-Bash-'96s going "I knew the whole time! I tried telling you!" (But admittedly, that's a hella big reach).

Something I’ve been meaning to talk about is the brilliance of Caster’s rap. I’ve seen people say it was bad and he must have messed up because he just kept ending every line with “bitch”. I thought it was totally obvious that the point of the rap was to call out Okada’s use/reliance of that as his catchphrase. Like “see, I can do it too, and more creatively”

I can't recall a shittier sell for a PPV opponent than MJF's 'a poorly drawn comic book character'. I also can't recall anybody calling their win over said PPV opponent 'an easy dub...' Is Friedman on his way to a heel turn or just a plain old shithead? The Mad Scientist is incredible and deserved better than this poorly promoted TV showcase. I need to see that Sabre bout to wash away this foul smell.

Lord knows I've been a big MJF fan, but I agree with pretty much everything you're saying here. It'd be one thing if this was 2022 MJF and Hechicero went out there and stretched the living fuck out of him. But, that's the polar opposite of this. And, Hechicero has looked awesome in his AEW run, even if I don't especially care for him being put together with Cage and them.

Wow, just saw the Lucha Bros/Mistico v Titan/Takahashi/Yota Tsuji bout from the Pre show. These guys all looked incredible. Here's hoping Takahashi jumps ship and goes All Elite. I sense he needs the career boost that showing off his wonderful charisma on American Television could provide. Can we please have a Titan v Fenix singles on a Wednesday night?

Ending every line in a verse with the same word and having the actual rhymes be the preceeding words has been common in rap music for over 30 years.

This is beyond the "no one has ever heard of Bad Bunny" thing. The wrestling bubble is real and it weirds me out.

Is this new Rap fad a form of popular music?

Man, OC/ZSJ was incredible. But I haven’t heard anyone bring up the biggest news from that match. Orange has switched to the Wayfarer from his usually aviators! As a Wayfarer man myself, I support this.

He’s been switching back and forth between the two. He also has been switching between darker and lighter denim, and between “Jane” and “Where is My Mind”. I thought for a while there was a pattern (Wayfarers/darker/Pixies vs. Aviators/lighter/Jane) but I haven’t been keeping up on my observations.

Nice rib on Luger. Who knew Greg Gagne had diss skills on the mic?

Greg drops diss tracks.  Verne kills a guy.  Is the daughter still in jail?  Whole family is as gangsta as Minnesota gets, I suppose.

I haven't seen the whole show yet and it will be a while before I do, but:

Nigel crying while giving a standing ovation to Mariah May and the women's title ending.

Also, Mina... that's all I have to say about that and I have said too much already.

I love Jeff Cobb being the one thing that goes through Samoa Joe like he's not a big deal. He's faster, stronger and more athletic than PHYSICAL PRIME Joe and in the same mold. Joe needs all his craftiness to get past this one!

Loved the opener and really liked the Elite trios match.

Finally watching this now, apologize if this has been addressed, but what the fuck is Tanahashi wearing?

A device to keep his arms attached to his body.

First devised as a weapon against Arm-Fall-Off-Boy before they discovered it had other applications.

There was a period in my life where I regularly had pro wrestling related dreams, the most disturbing of which was Kurt Angle wrestling in TNA with barely functional robot arms, like a janky Jax from MK3

I get distracted by Tanahashi tights keep dropping and pulling them up.
