MARCH WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD

I think the idea of a 'Paul Heyman Guy' died when he brought out CURTIS AXEL. If he had remained with Axel and Ryback and led them to the tag titles, that'd be one thing, but he didn't. The next PAUL HEYMAN GUY fizzled and now jobs to matadors.

TNA is pimping the return of a former Knockout champion live on Impact tonight. Former Knockout champions not currently on the roster are Awesome Kong, Mickey James, Tara, Angelina Love, Taylor Wilde, and Winter. Taylor retired and I think Kong and Tara have said they will never return to TNA. If that's true, that would leave Mickey James, Angelina Love, and Winter as possibilities. This being TNA, that means that the former Knockout champion showing up will be Miss Tessmacher, who has been off TV for a few months, but is still listed on the roster

Taylor Wilde said on Twitter yesterday that she'd consider coming back for "a good contract with some guarantees". I'm gonna guess Angelina Love out of the choices

Over the weekend, Dixie Carter and the TNA Twitter account followed Angelina Love.  ...so...it could likely be...any of the above.

Rumour is that Mickie is pregnant with little Magnus, so if true it won't be her.

So she's giving up on seeing any child support, eh?

http://www.sbnation.com/2014/3/4/5468468/wwe-pro-wrestling-stories-creative

A week later I stupidly approached a member of Creative and stated my case for Chris getting a push, capping it with what I would learn to be the most backhanded of compliments in that industry: "Look, this guy is HUGE on the Internet. Our hardcore fans love him."

"Great," Creative responded. "Then we don't have to do shit with him ever."

Thought this was interesting given the role the internet has had in Daniel Bryan's rise to stardom. The 'Chris' in question is Chris Sabin I think.

Reigns can do promos?

Well, they're not going to make him a main eventer if he can't do promos on his own, so regardless of whether or not he can right now, putting him with Heyman won't help him get to where they want him.

But Sabin did wear a diaper in his feud with Jerry Lynn which fits the end of the article.

I was more looking for what people think of the greater role the 'IWC' might play, now that WWE is essentially catering for those of us who are online with the Network.

So, has Tensai gone full time announcer, or just dropped the Tensai gimmick completly, since he announced on NXT last night using his real name, and they pointed it out.

I think he's gone full time announcer.

Pretty impressive job by Xavier Woods. By simply asking to borrow their entrance music for one night, he eventually managed to first split-up and then end the in-ring careers of both Tensai and Brodus Clay.

His real name is Matt Bloom. This is more a shout-out to the Albert gimmick as Jason Albert.

Pretty soon we're going to need to get a "The Purge~" thread going, because it looks like this will be a banner year for the post-WM firings.

It's looking to include Brodus, Evan Bourne, Zeke, about 4 divas... and I'm gonna guess at least one or two of: Kofi Kingston, Alberto Del Rio, and Zack Ryder.

Apparently Matt Hardy's promotion got 2,000 people in the door the same weekend TNA struggled to get 1500 people in the doors for Lockdown. I am just amazed that they couldn't use a photo of Matt for the promo poster that doesn't make him look like a drug addict.

Was Matt ever brought into TNA? Seems like he'd be a logical fit for them, at least he seems like a name that could draw more than 400 fans to a house show. Or, is he tied up to a RoH contract.

The Hardys can pretty much go anywhere in the Carolinas or VA and draw huge.  I've announced two of the Omega revival shows and both drew great with one or both on top.  Very curious to see what the Hardys/Briscoes match draws next month.

I usually suck at the future endeavored threads because I see money in almost everyone on the roster. I sincerely believe they are underutilizing Kingston and Ryder because they fit more into a kid-oriented product.

The Zekes/Bournes probably have fairly low downside guarantees so it costs them next to nothing to keep them around.

It's been at least a couple of years since they did the big post-Wrestlemania purge, so who knows if that'll even happen now.

Matt Hardy was in TNA, but I believe they fired him for being unreliable. (No, really.)

If they'd renamed Tensai as Matt Albert, the jokes would have written themselves...
