Random question stemming from seeing my son playing with his action figures: have Samoa Joe and Mox ever had a singles match? Cause if not, they need to.

Not in AEW, but there was a match on the 12/11/17 WWE Raw. Only singles match.

Unsurprisingly, I saw someone on Twitter imply someone from WWE leaked the MJF/Britt story to take the spotlight away from the Logan Paul stuff yesterday.

I saw more than someone on AEW's subreddit saying that. There are a lot of people saying that, lol.

I'm not letting the other thread get closed without showing what Shane REALLY taught TK to do in that meeting

Leave Britt alone.  She only beefs with people on days that end in Y.

I remember when most people were following her lead and calling out Rosa for being uncooperative and sandbagging and being difficult, which I’m certain was part of the reason why Rosa was off TV for so long. And then on All Access when Tony Schiavone heard Britt bitching and told her basically to grow up.

I might be in the minority on this, but I really can't blame the woman for wanting to hold on to her spot when she's about to turn 35, coming off a year-long injury/illness. If I shit-listed every wrestler who played politics, id have only a handful left to root for.

My feeling, and I could be wrong, is that there's just an overall heightened tempurature or sensitivity to this kind of thing on the heels of what happened with Punk last year - everyone and their brother wants to try and draw parallels and go for the false equivalency, or go "tHeRe aRe sOmE rEaL pRoBleMs iN tHaT lOcKeR rOoM" like fights are a daily occurrence.

I think there are also a lot of bad actors trying to use it as an opportunity to dunk on certain reporters and editorialists, whether that means landing on the "X is in AEW's pocket this should've been reported sooner!" side, or the "X is a WWE source, of course they leaked the story!" side - while there's probably SOME merit to that (and I certainly love dissecting that stuff conversationally - NOT argumentatively) I also think it's largely immaterial to the story, if not an outright separate thing entirely.

Not saying this is/was the case whatsoever, but just an example: Imagine if this turned out to be a story beat to go back to the MJF/Cole thing at some point. Whomever rushed to report it as fact would've looked kinda f'n silly, no? I can't ascribe to malice what would be called "due diligence" in most other scenarios

ETA: Another point I wanna make, since I made the mistake of invoking Punk: it's clear to me just from talking here over the last year about it as well as elsewhere, the sensibilities around this kind of thing have definitely evolved, too. 25 years ago Kevin Nash smacked the living shit out of Roddy Piper backstage in front of a room of people, and until I got into watching shoot interviews as a high schooler, I don't think I even ever read about it past a one-sentence blurb in Dave Scherer's Daily Lariat. Now, it's considered assault, criminal behavior, "violence in the workplace," etc. - I'm not saying that shift is a bad thing at all, but it's probably something to keep in mind in terms of some of us old heads being "desensitized" to a degree

Guess I will be the THIRD person to ask what the Britt story entails.

Details are super vague but it sounds like she brought some simmering animosity she had with MJF and his girlfriend (Alicia Atout, who also works there) to the surface.  Britt said something about MJF, his girlfriend heard it, confronted Baker, not sure what else happened.  MJF punched a wall, HR got involved, Britt got two weeks off which is just lovely considering she has a match to build.  Honestly, I’d say pulling the match would have been a better punishment.

Whether this is Germane or not, she and Adam Cole are also no longer a couple apparently.when he moved a few weeks ago, it was apparently back to PA and not together.

rhey should kept her suspension u til after the PPV, like what WWF used to do with drug suspensions.

Getting a two-week suspension for shit talking a dude wrestler while his non-wrestler girlfriend is in the locker room for whatever reason sounds like a baffling decision.

If grown-ass man MJF gets so angry he punches a wall, sounds like he should've been the one punished.

I sincerely hope this is somehow all a weird work because it's embarrassing all around.

Just to be clear, his non-wrestler gf works for AEW, so in theory was just as entitled to be in the ladies locker room as someone like Renee or Arkady. Unless they have a separate dressing/changing area for non-wrestlers.

Oh, I am aware, and I figured they would have separate dressing areas for those not wrestling. Wouldn't it be weird not to? Like do we imagine Excalibur and crew putting their suits on right by a nearly nude Brian Cage?

This! I’ve worked in my share of toxic workplaces and from everything I’ve read the past few years AEW is a toxic workplace. MJF not getting any kind of punishment for escalating the situation is par for the course in toxic workplaces, especially when the other party is a female.

I think it is safe to say that there is a big piece of the puzzle we simply don't have right now (and may never have), so trying to figure out the whys of everything at this point might not be doable.

That said... I've always thought the stuff she said about Rosa if not just reality show BS was very out of line so my personal bias is that I wouldn't be shocked if she's crossed another line somehow.

Everything you’ve read isn’t everything that happens though, people love to leak/share and spread negativity. Britt and MJF just seem very thin-skinned and protective of their spots, even by pro wrestling standards.

We’re definitely a far cry from the old days of Excalibur beating Jimmy Havoc’s ass in a restaurant parking lot.

I’d be cool with that happening more often.
