AEW - AUGUST 2024

“Britt Baker was suspended for either one or two weeks and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee.

Details have been kept pretty quiet. It came from something backstage at the 7/17 Dynamite where Baker allegedly said something about MJF and Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend heard it and told him and he confronted Baker.

This led to an investigation with HR talking to people on 7/24 and I believe the disciplinary committee that did the investigation recommended that. I don’t know if Tony Khan was or wasn’t involved in this and everyone was attempting to keep this under wraps. This all stems from problems in the past that weren’t addressed and a committee was put together to settle these things quickly. Most of those we heard from were sympathetic to her in this situation.”

Britt Baker reportedly “exercised frustration” backstage in the women’s locker room about MJF which Alicia Atout overheard and told MJF.

As per the report from Fightful, there was a confrontation between Britt Baker and Alicia Atout, additionally there was one between MJF and Baker.

Will Ospreay reportedly became involved and spoke with Baker.

Baker reportedly “took issue” with Atout telling MJF what she had said about him in the locker room.

This prompted an investigation with a suspension being levied at Baker.

Baker is reportedly still planned to wrestle at AEW All In.

My two cents: Baker is kinda dumb for shit talking MJF in front of his girlfriend... And since they both work there, the idea of the "sanctity of the lockerroom" is a moot point.

Conversely, Atout tattling to MJF is pretty childish, and isn't going to win her any points.  But, this is the dumbass high school drama when you have this kind of fraternization in the lockerroom.

And, finally, I'd like to point out Baker notoriously shit-talked Thunder Rosa and claimed she was faking an injury, so she isn't getting any benefit-of-the-doubt from me personally.  YMMV.

I remember when ppl would talk about how ridiculous it was to shoot angles on BTE and not update the TV viewers. Collision/Rampage/Youtube is the new expansive deluxe edition BTE. AEW has upped the ante on feud videos, but they still fail to recognize how much worthwhile content is being completely missed by a large portion of their audience. Jeff Jarrett's fan-swell from a bunch of youtube videos seems like a solid example. As popular as she is, Toni Storm has delivered so many of her best promos on unseen Collisions and Rampages. Wednesday's crowd seemed to have no idea 'who this Beast Mortos is?' His remarkable ROH/AEW/B/C run is unknown to Dynamite viewers. Recapping the headlines from Collision/Rampage on Dynamite would be very beneficial.

As a long time pro wrestling fan, it grates a little how all of the actual drama in AEW leads to stuff that can't be matches. There was Eddie Kingston vs Sammy and Ortiz vs Santana I guess (and both were good).

Someone should convince Baker and MJF that they can look way better than Punk and the Elite right now if they just do business. The main event of All Out could easily be MJF/Mone vs Ospreay/Baker and people in Chicago would eat that up.

Turn a shoot into a work or turn a shoot into cryptic social media posts.

You wonder if they would have done MLF/x vs Cole/Baker at some point without all the injuries. And I presume they wouldn’t ask Britt and Cole team now, even if everyone was healthy.

What's the story here? Please don't make me go looking around at pro wrestling "news" sites to find it.

I assume Alicia Atout, MJF's girlfriend, and Melissa Santos, Brian Cage's wife, being given gigs in AEW/ROH.

Is she on AEW TV? I only recognize Renee and Lexie as backstage people, I know there’s Arkady but I couldn’t pick her out of a crowd.

They still don't necessarily need Renee, Lexie, Arkady, Alicia, and Melissa. That's a lot. Renee and Lexie basically had it covered.

Unless I am wrong about Arkady, she is the only one not dating/married to another AEW talent.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before..

Britt & MJF apparently have beef stemming from issues in the past that were never resolved by management.

Fuckin’ lol.

Have yall already covered the rumors that baker & cole are splitsville? I was gone for a week…

Cole just moved from FL to Pittsburgh according to his update so I would think they’re still together.

The social media sleuths out there have noticed that allegedly neither acknowledged the others birthday this year, and that Cole made a point of saying he was moving “alone.” Idk if it means anything or not. I just hope he worked the boxes to their size…

AEW has enough real drama without "social media sleuths" (what a cursed phrase) inventing more. In this case with an extra dose of "who cares" since its their personal life that has nothing to do with the AEW product. But I'm not surprised drew was the one to bring this into the thread, very on brand.

Happy to help.

No, but for real, as someone who's been through a divorce, that's a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone... maybe the Jacksons...

Random question stemming from seeing my son playing with his action figures: have Samoa Joe and Mox ever had a singles match? Cause if not, they need to.

I thought it would've been cool if Britt turned out to be the Devil.
