  1. So in three hours they never showed or really referred to the Women's champion once, right? Or did I miss something? Greatest dumbest part of the night was Zack Ryder asking Kurt Angle for a match to get into the MITB, Jinder interrupting and Angle telling him no using Ryder's catchphrase and Ryder going "That was awesome" and COMPLETELY forgetting that Angle never even answered him much less granting his request. I picture Ryder getting home tonight and going "Something I was supposed to do...oh God DAMMIT!"

  5. This actually happened late last week but... Approximately 18 months ago, we had a severe windstorm here in Spokane that resulted a piece of fascia on my roof being pulled out, essentially creating a big funnel for water right into an interior wall. When the insurance guy came out and inspected our damage, I repeatedly asked if we needed a new roof as it looked like we'd sustained some damage up there as well. "No" was the answer. The damage got fixed and life was good. A couple months ago, my wife noticed new damage in the exact same place as before. Called the insurance company, they came out, and said that the damage was the result of "wear and tear" and not covered. I said wait a minute, it's in the exact same place as before, clearly it wasn't repaired properly. Was told if that's the case, still not their problem, it's an issue for me and the contractor (who they recommended and vouched for, btw). Called the contractor, they denied any issue and - literally - refused to come out and look at the damage. Around that same time, I got a flyer in the mail from a roofing contractor extolling their success on getting people new roofs, covered by insurance. Skeptical, but open to trying anything, I had those guys come out. They looked around, marked a bunch of damage spots, took photos, and said, yep, you need a new roof and yours is wind-damaged (covered by insurance). Another call to insurance, they come back out, and inspect again, this time with the roofing guy. They come down from my roof, insurance guy leaves, roofing guy says "they're denying you a new roof. I have no idea why. They've approved new roofs with far less damage for me in the past." Lovely. Roofing guy says he's not done, he'll appeal the decision and ask for a new inspection by a different adjuster. That all goes basically nowhere, with the insurance company they won't give me a new adjuster. Can't blame them, they don't want people "adjuster shopping". I said, well, my guy says I need a new roof, you guys say no. They say "get us another estimate saying you need a new roof and we'll approve a roof". So I call another company, they come out. These guys are much more professional. Guy says I need a new roof but thinks insurance won't cover it. Lovely. But he also says the one area where the new water damage was located was unlikely to be able to be repaired, it would have to replaced and "that's our in". OK. I ask him to send over a super-detailed estimate and explanation of why a new roof is in order. He comes back to take more photos. This time he says "hey, you already have 3 layers - I *CAN'T* repair this." (2 layers is legal limit). So he sends over the detailed estimate and I wait. Hear nothing from insurance company. Then they actually call me to ask where the second estimate is? I say, uh, you already have it. Claims guy says oh, hey, yeah you're right. I'll get back to you. I hear nothing so I call again, leave a message. Hear nothing. Call again, get a customer service rep. He leaves a message for claims guy, says claims guy will call next day. Claims guy doesn't call, so I call again. Customer service guy says "This is ridiculous. I don't know why he's not calling you and he's ignoring me." Lovely. "I'll have him call you." I say "OK, but just understand, if I don't hear from him, my next call will not be to you guys. It'll be to the Insurance Commissioner."* That seemed to ring some bells on their end - I got a call 10 minutes later. Claims guy says he's still evaluating estimates and to give him one more day. He calls next day and says MY CLAIM IS APPROVED. NEW ROOF BABY! Woo-hoo! Looks like I'll be getting a new set of gutters as well - that's a nice bonus since I was looking at having to replace them anyway. And they're covering the interior damage that started this whole mess in the first place. So let that be a lesson - when you know you're right, stick to your guns. It took me almost 3 months of fighting, and being ignored, but I didn't go away, which is what the insurance company was hoping for. In the end, I'm getting the new roof I should have gotten 18 months ago (sucks having to pay a new deductible but I'll live with that). * - The threat to call the insurance commissioner was not an empty one. I've called before, when I was getting constant run-arounds and hassles when my wife was undergoing chemo. Amazingly enough, after the call to the commissioner, who didn't do much (if anything), all the problems stopped. Go figure.

  10. Out of context of it being an awful finish and killing Nakamura yet again and all that ... The slow mo of the double kick with the anguish of both guys, the ref's little "oh god" gasp and the announcers all cringing in the background is fucking hilarious.

  18. He was fun in GWF and yeah his WWF run was a joke but not his fault by any means. He reminds me a lot of Rusev. I think if Busick were coming up today he would have a cult following. I was able to be a part of his final match and it meant and still means the world to me. He had a huge heart and will be missed.

  21. I've always believed Cage is far too giving a performer for someone with his look and presence. And that's a way for commentators to sort of correct for that and make him seem like a machine. But they can easily hit the point of making the other guy look bad and detracting from the story in the ring. As for Cage's generosity, that just seems to be wrestling today. Everything needs to be competitive, and that's harmful in cases like Cage.

  22. Way back in the day I figured that was how they would start Jeff Hardy and Edges singles runs, by having Christian and Matt each grad a title in a TLC or ladder match and become a team.

  25. Come on, guys, lay off Carmella. She's a fun character, and at least she tries to get her shit over. Charlotte looked like she thought that whole deal was below her, selling Carmella's holds like it was slowly dawning on her that the dressing on her salad might not be light like she asked for. I mean, I get that going from beating Asuka at Mania to losing to Carmella at Backlash is a big drop-off, but that's WWE booking in a nutshell right there. Plenty of talented people didn't even get to be on the show.

  26. They need to be giving her a stronger overall character where being an MMA fighter is just a part of her background opposed to who and what she is. That was needed even before Rousey and co. showed up.

  27. I'm glad WOR picked up on what they're trying with Roman in that they're again going back to the well of making Roman look like a sympathetic underdog babyface who is held down by the machine because he isn't the favored son. WOR brought up how they're just copying the Daniel Bryan angle, but this all feels more like what was happening with CM Punk. In any event, this shit doesn't work. I wish I could ever understand their logic of having a big, brooding, whiny Samoan who gets multiple title opportunities and who even has the last match on PPVs even though it's not a title match is an underdog who WWE wants to hold down. Like, this shit isn't working. There isn't anything wrong with Roman's promo if it wasn't so transparently bullshit. His delivery was fine. Hell, even the content was fine, but the context and reality of the situation makes it look like garbage. I've been beaten down to the point where I just kinda accept that Roman is the guy, but I wish they'd just take a different approach to having him be the top guy. They don't even have to turn him heel. This guy should be winning the title at WM over Brock and not losing to him and losing badly. This guy shouldn't be getting punked out on Raw, save that for smaller guys. Instead he just looks like a dork and is saying stuff that a heel would say except they're never going to turn him heel. It's the weirdest booking I can ever think of.

  32. ROH is kinda fascinating in that they have a team in BCB/Milonas that -The crowd is into -They repeatedly trumpet as tj biggest in ROH history -Are straight-up heels in no danger of being cheered for being cool yet are never booked terribly strong and lost clean to C2C this week. Also, God help me but Im really starting to dig Vinnie Marseglia. First off, it looks like he ditched the axe for balloons (a la IT) which is a complete win. Second, he has the badass Michael Myers knee pad. Thirdly, I think his look and horror gimmick has legs. I'd like to see him get weirder and scarier so that he weirds out the Kingdom who kick him out and have him come back with his own scary stable. I like him. Also the spot in the main where Castle repeatedly threw Boys at the Kingdom was amazing.
