  3. Really, shouldn’t every wrestling company just have a mandate that wrestlers don’t do shit they can’t pull off well?

  4. I'm the opposite: this is the first AEW PPV I have been motivated to watch and it is 95% because of the Exploding Barbed Wire Triple Hell Deathmatch. There is a lot of wrestling that can be a foregone conclusion, but it's what they do along the way and how they get there that makes it exiting. I wanna see some long-ass entrances and selling of the BW gimmick and juice and maybe even thee "destroying your opponent so he can't escape the explosion but then running back to cover his prone body with yours bushidowarriorspiritrespect" finish and the bloody gladiators emerging from the smoke into th

  5. Happy Birthday to @The Natural! You are the first one to wish others a Happy Birthday, so i wanted to do something special and take a look at some of your favorite things. Thank you for sharing this stuff over the years, and thank you for being a great person and poster. You make the board a better place to visit. I hope 2021 treats you better than 2020 did.aaq SHIELD vs Wyatt Family WWE Elimination Chamber, February 23, 2014 i was not watching WWE at the time, but i have seen this match because it was hyped up and talked about so much. No real memories of it, other than that it

  8. You think Tony wouldn't license "Miseria Cantare" instead? You think he'd deprive us of Austin Gunn banging on the guardrail like the only white kid on the JV team completely fucking up the beat to "Grindin'" on his gym locker?

  9. Everyone talked about Crow Sting/Undertaker as a dream match, but if you ask me it was Surfer Sting, not Crow Sting, that would have been the perfect foil for Taker. He had the upbeat energy and visual aesthetic that would have been a perfect contrast with the darker, more methodical Dead Man.

  10. I imagine Proud and Powerful and Lucha Bros' songs were written by the AEW music guy during a Jack Torrence style psychotic break. I imagine TK as Shelley Duvall in this situation, spying on the lyrics sheet and looking on in horror as it's just page after page of If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful If I wasn't proud, then I wouldn't be powerful

  12. Now I want a match with piped-in sound effects for submissions, like the ones in Fire Pro Wrestling where it’s a winching sound and the ref just asking “Give up? Give up? Give up?” on a loop.

  13. On one hand, I don't think it's CM Punk. On the other hand, I think Punk would be the best possible answer to disappoint the fewest people and potentially have the most to give the company.

  17. Massive thank you to @El Gran Gordi, @twiztor, @Shartnado, @Yo-Yo's Roomie, @gatling, @Execproducer and @Zimbra for wishing me a Happy Birthday. Really appreciate it. I've had a great Birthday even with the unusual circumstances, a lockdown one (I narrowly avoided it last year by two weeks). I spent it with my Mum/Dad/Sister (in mid 2020 me and my best friend who is like my Brother planned on him coming up for my Birthday thinking we wouldn't be where we are now, alas), my dear friend in Alyson with the presents and cards received. Yes, Batman was well represented . People know I'm a massive

  20. Adams was the best. I never caught it when I was watching WCCW as a teen or when I rewatched WCCW for my old World Cast podcast. Slaps are fine, just learn from Chris Adams and figure it out. Now, don't learn ANYTHING ELSE from Chris Adams.

  22. Just to reiterate what I said when Evan Peters first showed up: I don’t want Marvel to bring in anybody from the Fox X-Men cast. They should start fresh. So, on that level, I was relieved to find that he wasn’t even supposed to be Fox Quicksilver. That said....that is a really fucking weird decision to cast him in this role, in retrospect. Too cute for it’s own good. Ultimately achieved nothing besides distracting from the story that they were actually telling.

  26. Casey Kenney did not have the gas tank to go the distance with Cruz. DC, knowing how fights are judged, ends R3 in dominant position. I am stunned by the split decision. Cruz should've won UD by 29-28 across the board, IMO.

  29. If we can guarantee a double table bump, possibly from the top of the arena, possibly into a non gimmicked tank of piranhas, I'd be down with that signing. So hire someone of similar size and build and have him work as El Generico for a few months, then hire Sami when his contract is up and have Sami work under the hood for a bit, then unmask. As far as CM Punk goes, is there a way to check on the licensing status of Cult of Personality?

  38. So, if we're REALLY overstating the HoF thing, then I could see Aleister Black be signed, but he hasn't done anything HoF worthy yet. Couldn't be Akiyama because he's champ, old as fuck, and no one would know him except for us. BUT...but...Akiyama vs Kingston! The coolest, WTF, holy shit signing that wouldn't make sense is CM Punk. The coolest, WTF, holy shit signing that would make sense is Daniel Cormier. Angle is probably the likeliest though, but I'm going to hold out hope for DC.

  39. Oh God, Hansen vs Akiyama is the one I remember. Mainly because a friend of mine always brings it up. I think it's perfectly fine to hate both, leg slapping and crappy submissions. Submissions are more stationary and easier to spot. I also hate shitty sitout moves and shitty pin attempts were wrestlers lean on opponents with their back adding a leg hook and it doesn't look like there is any pressure / leverage on the opponent. Maybe it's time to get a house with lawn so I can yell at the young people to get off it...

  45. I have a blast watching AEW with my kids. My daughter just turned 10. She's not super into it, but she pops in here and there and watches with me. My son is 3 and it's hilarious to watch with him. He knows Jericho, Moxley and Omega by sight. He also knows that -1's daddy "didn't make it" (my son's term for anyone who dies). He really seems sad for that little boy every time he sees him. It's equally sweet and sad. On a lighter note, my son made up this sort of action cartoon in his head that he talks about a lot. It's called "Circle Vipers". No idea where that name came from. T
