Glad I skipped this show, what with the threatened murder and the three matches in two hours. It is killing me that Forbidden Door is just another show now. Probably just as well, because a bunch of random Japanese and Mexican outsiders coming in might have revived my interest, and I'm quite enjoying my extra free time (it's the busy season for me, work wise. Plus there's an insane heat wave over here, which is draining everyone's energy including mine). I'll be skipping Forbidden Door this year which, considering how much I LOVED the first three FDs, seems insane to me. The BJW show last month was excellent, by the way. One of the best shows I've been to in person. There's another one in a few weeks but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go. Back on topic: I'm kind of hoping FTR wins by pinning a Brodido, then FTR vs E&C is also a three-way and Edge pins Nick Wayne or Jack Perry; just for the shadenfreude of watching them move the belt from ex-WWE team to ex-WWE team to ex-WWE team without any ex-WWE superstars ever having to eat a pin. Also, the desperate explanations of why that's actually OK will be fun to read ((in the same way that getting a root canal is a pleasant way to pass an afternoon). Possibly they won't do that, though. But it's hard to imagine any other reason for making the tag title match a three-way. Edit: Hopefully tbarrie is right about it being elimination style.

It's been so long since I ate yogurt in "The West" (which I have to fly east to get to) that I honestly can't remember clearly enough to make comparisons. Certainly, your standard Canadian fruit yogurt is a hundred million times sweeter than your standard Japanese fruit yogurt. Or at least it used to be. Oikos Greek Yogurt is VERY popular here now. Available everywhere. Sour Bulgarian yogurt was the big one when I arrived here. I tend to go with Megumi Yogurt, which is almost always on sale in the 24-hour drug store around the corner. It's not as protein rich as the Oikos, but it's very rich and creamy. I often mix in a scoop or two of protein powder (also generally WAY less sweet here than in Canada and presumably America) and some frozen blueberries or chopped strawberries (or banana or mango) to make "ice cream" I've been dieting pretty strictly since May 28th, so that's an absolute staple for me now. I'm gonna break the diet on the day of the Big Japan show, though the izakaya food is mostly pretty healthy. I'll have to switch browsers to post a picture, but it is possible to eat VERY unhealthily in Japan, if one wants to: https://www.burgerking.co.jp/event/detail/53 Cannot post a oicture, but there's a link. To the Baby Body Burger from BK Japan. An actual collaboration with the sumo federation. Presumably it gives you a roly poly baby body, as opposed to being made from baby bodies.

Thanks for asking. Sorry, but this constant WCW nostalgia pandering and ludicrous overbooking is absolutely not for me. I caught the last few matches of the ROH and AEW PPVs and both pre-shows. and some highlights. As always, there are a ton of great wrestlers doing excellent work, but also non-stop outside interference and nut shots and other bullshit like announcer yelling "THIS HAS TO BE IT!!" after moves where there is LITERALLY ZERO CHANCE that that was it, and everyone watching knows it. And the bullshit is really constant and non-stop all over every show. Just not for me. At all. I wasn't going to say anything, in the interest of not raining on everyone's parade. But since you asked... I'm frankly very surprised that THIS is what (almost?) everyone else actually seems to want from AEW. I do have positive thoughts: I'm VERY glad Moxter and Mercedes both put over non-WWE pro wrestlers cleanly. Your turn next, Hurt Syndicate! The crowd was amazing! EIGHT F'N HOURS in, for those who attended the pre-show, and they were still HAWT for Kenny vs Okada and The Great Catharsis. (Ten Gallon) hats off to them. Edit: I was LEGIT worried that the reason for making it a TDM was so that Moxter could "get his win back." VERY VERY happy that was not the case. There's a REALLY good Big Japan show next week, Daimonji vs Ishikawa strong BJ main.event, a midcard death match (presumably the last match before intermission), Irie and Bodyguard and ASTRONAUTS all on the card, Channing Decker, a wrestler from Toronto I have heard good things about, teaming with Leighton Buzzard, the British Wrestler I was impressed by last time... etc etc... And it's at 176 Box in Shonai so we'll be hitting one or more of the amazing izakaya in that neighbourhood after the show. And there will be zero overbooking and zero announcers trying to manipulate my emotions like I'm a five-year-old idiot who's never watched wrestling before! So I'm still enjoying wrestling but AEW really isn't for me any more and probably never will be again. I'm fine with just following casually now. Happy that I don't feel obligated to consume all 12+ hours of both PPVs, to be honest. And even if I don't understand it, I was happy to read how happy this nostalgia pandering makes so many people on here. Glad all y"all are getting what you want.

As a friend, I implore you: Please, lighten up a little. It's OK for wrestling to just be fun sometimes: That is gorgeous. That is lovely. That is a group of people spontaneously enjoying themselves. That is a sense of community. That IS a positive part of what pro wrestling can be, these days. Not every match needs to take the crowd on a complex journey (although it's great when that happens. It's the best). This kind of silly fun is also good, though. One nice thing is: Obviously your irrational hatred of maximalist flippy overkill and crowds going into business for themselves hasn't killed your love of pro wrestling overall. Possibly, it helps you enjoy the kind of wrestling you love even more; having something to contrast it with. Similar, perhaps to how my (entirely rational and logical) loathing of corporate sports entertainment superstar culture probably helps me love my precious goofy honest indie bullshit pro wrestling even more. But. Please. If you cannot enjoy those creative and spontaneous Kyle chants, you are REALLY missing out on some fun.

I've said it before (and might say it again) but... What the fuck happened in Tony Khan's life that we have moved from the "Ring of Friendship" "Spark Joy in the Fanbase" "Good Guys Win Through The Power of Support and Trust and Cooperation" gorgeous joyful early days of AEW into this current Ayn Randian hellscape of constant betrayal and attempted murder where the heel groups all seem to have each other's backs (for selfish reasons) but the good guys have to stand alone? Where trying to convince flawed but loveable guys to work together sparks a brawl? Where friendship and trust basically no longer exist? How did we get to the point where a "downer show" seems to be the most likely outcome? In AEW? Fuck's sake. Craig H's scenario at least would be a dramatic payoff to at least one thread of this constant misery Werner Herzog's Atlas Shrugged booking... Keeping my fingers crossed
