A_K Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Punk takes the title through rest of ‘22 while they try to renegotiate the TV deal 1
Raziel Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Can we retire the phrase "Forbidden Door" after this show ends, because the door isn't really Forbidden if a fuckton of people have been walking through it over the last 2 years. 8
NoFistsJustFlips Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 There's no door on the hinges anymore, it's just an open entry way now. Really opens up the floor plan too. 1 3

Not before they do a skit where they have Yano in Japan walk by a door with "Forbidden Door" written on it, he walks through it and magically pops out of the entrance at a live Dynamite. 6 3
Doragon Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 We will see if below has any effects on AEW https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/tnt-tbs-scripted-programming-development-scrapped-warner-bros-discovery-1235241348/ Then again they might just ask for more AEW on TBS tv like the old WCW days. AEW is still part of the "sports" section. 1
Happ Hazzard Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 No more scripted promos or choreographed matches. Call it in the ring and cut promos on the fly. Book the shows in the car. 4

What a pointless network TBS has been for 20+ years. 3

ThatTCGuy Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Honestly I feel like AEWs in a pretty good spot right now. Every major network is looking for cheap, easy to produce content to fill ad space and this def fits that bill. 3

It's funny that they're starting to show some HBO Max originals a year after they started, since (arguably) TBS' best show - Search Party - was moved from the network to HBO Max for the last two or three seasons. They also had Conan O'Brien for like 11 years, so, y'know. I absolutely adored his Conan Without Borders specials. 1
DEAN Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 OH NO! Takeshita is going to be a fat boy when he goes back to Japan. 1
DEAN Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 This is fucking great. Moriarty in the BCC already. 3 1
Casey Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I wouldn't mind Moriarty in the Blackpool Combat Club, but I kind of want someone that's a brawler like Mox so he can have his own young boy - in my mind, YUTA is more of a trainee for Danielson than Mox, since he's more technically based and whatnot. The only person I could really see joining that would fit that would be JD Drake, but I don't think that's going to happen. 3
(BP) Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Rip Byson from Limitless would be a great Mox protege if they were looking outside the promotion for such a thing.

If discovery decides to be out the others are out as well. Of course someone like wgn america would pick them up and decide to make that the flagship. It wouldn’t be for more money and it would be a massive downgrade in promotion and prestige. This all strikes me as Not Good. 1
The Natural Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 I missed this first time round. LOL. 2

FX and AMC are just outside of the top 20 cable networks that have the most viewership, and I’d say they have more prestige (not viewers) than TNT or TBS

I guess aew could wind up on amc, sure wouldn’t have the feel of being promoted during the nba. And that would be a reach, is amc searching out live sports and rebranding their network? There are very few landing spots here even with great ratings.
