Buy Me a Burrito Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I watched a highlight video of Nation a few weeks ago. The guy looked awesome. But he's like 5'10 isn't he?
Roman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 The man worked as an interpreter at the UN, for God's sake! Between what languages? English can't be one of them.

ben. Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 My article on an upcoming deathmatch tournament got some play from Meltzer yesterday, that made me happy. If anyone is in Denver, this should be a fun show http://www.coloradoindies.com/post/5/show
El Ken Erico Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 A newer indy group in my area has Michael Elgin vs. Uhaa Nation booked for a show in October. Haven't seen much of Nation in recent years, interested to see how that'll go. I thought Elgin couldn't get back into the states for at least 90 days. Is this solved? Doesn't seem professional if they still promote that match.
Patrick B. Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Good question, actually. That match was just posted a day or two ago, so I don't know what the deal is.
newtalkingwall Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Elgin is advertised to wrestle Davey Vega (I think) on the Anarchy card, too.

The Nature Boy Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I would actually caution against giving KENTA the GTS. That'd just be a magnet for "CM Punk" chants.
GOTNW Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I wish they just muted the crowd sounds. Honestly contemporary american wrestling crowds are pretty awful. 2
bink_winkleman Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Just show a video package with Kenta doing the GTS way back in the day. He could be "the most imitated superstar in sports entertainment" and all the guys that stole his moves could be part of the gimmick. Have a package with guys ripping off Kenta followed by him doing all the moves in a way more badass fashion. Punk was just a pirate, a thief. Maybe if they talked enough shit, they could even goad Punk into coming back for a finisher vs. finisher match.
Buy Me a Burrito Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I was a Punk fan for a while, but I have desire to see him wrestle for a long time.

Rehabilitated Rick Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Is there a better managerial run than Heyman 2012-2014?
Victator Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Jimmy Hart in Memphis and everything Heenan did as a manager. 6
Matt D Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Is there a better managerial run than Heyman 2012-2014? Absolutely. Heenan still got the rest of his family over when he was managing Andre, for instance. The Curtis Axel stuff was just embarrassing all around, and in so many ways, his pairing with Cesaro was worse.
RandomAct Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Take away Brock and Heyman is pretty useless right now, to be quite honest. As Matt mentioned, he failed at getting anyone else over.
Raziel Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Its not so much Heyman failed, its that booking failed. Axel wasn't getting over as a singles no matter what at the time, his team with Ryback was the best thing for him. Cutting Ryback and Cesaro off at the nuts for whatever fucking reason that inane Creative Team decided this week is what failed to get them over. Not Heyman. 1
Matt D Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 He definitely shouldn't be praised for it though. I think someone else might have made it work better. Or at least showed something akin to effort. We've never seen a good manager overcome bad booking?
brandonr4s Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Bobby Heenan is far and away the best manager in the history of the business. 3
