Reed
So, does anyone actually WANT to see Ghostbusters 3? Is the world demanding it? Ramis is gone, and I don't want to see a bored-looking Bill Murray ghostwalk through his lines for a paycheck like a real version of his Lost in Translation character. Leave my childhood alone, Hollywood.

Leave my childhood alone, Hollywood. I would be interested if they were following an Extreme Ghostbusters type of premise, pushing a new younger generation, I know I am not. I absolutely love Ghostbusters, grew up on it, still enjoy it. But it was the chemistry of the actors that made the movie so good, take out Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd and what do ya got? I mean Ghostbusters 2 was average, I liked it as a kid but it didn't hold up, and that was with the original cast. If you have talented young actors ready, great, make them a new IP and go for it. But I don't think it being a Ghostbusters movie will help as nothing they do will be able to top the original and that is all it will be compared to. I mean I still quote Ghostbusters in my every-day life, I love that movie, I just don't think a sequel 25 years later is a good idea. Course I say that fully prepared to see TMNT next week since I am excited to see them in a full feature movie again. Even though I am fully aware it will probably suck. caley
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/ghostbusters-3-targets-paul-feig-723028 Sources say the film will be a reboot focusing on female Ghostbusters. Yeah, it looks like it's going to be a total reboot, written by two writers from 'The Office' and directed by Paul Feig, who did 'Bridesmaids' and 'The Heat'. jaedmc
So we're probably looking at Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy & Medea as your new Ghostbusters.
Niners Fan in CT
Nothing against any of them but I watched 'Bridesmaids' which I guess was supposed to be 'The Hangover' for females and by gawd was it terrible. 'Mean Girls' continues to be one of the greatest movies ever so hopefully Tina Fey has more involvement in this Ghostbusters deal..
caley
My guess is they will go younger and do something like Ariana Grande and other girls in their early 20s...and their will be much screaming and running from ghosts...until they find their inner strength. piranesi
I'm trying to think who among well-known female comic actresses could play the breezy chauvinistic but charismatic conman leader? Chelsea Peretti? Julia Louis Drefuss? Make it: Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Chelsea Peretti, Pamela Adlon, and Lauren Parnham with Jessica St. Clair as Rick Moranis.

jaedmc
Hey, MOVIES! Inside Llewn Davis Some really good music, and some really good performances. John Goodman Beeeeeeeee Ceeeeeeeeeeee GEEEEEE! bit made me laugh pretty hard as did the black arts speech. White Reindeer A woman's husband is murdered during the holidays and she becomes friends with his stripper mistress. Low fi indy, with a really good central performance, and great uses of bathrooms as points of vulnerability and truth. A Single Shot You've probably seen this story before. Guy finds money. Owners of money find guy. Shots are fired. This one has Sam Rockwell crushing it, so it's worth your time, and two fascinating back up performances by William H. Macy and Jeffrey Wright. Doesn't really mine any new ideas from the familiar story, but still very much a fun experience. Faces Just an tremendous exploration of power struggle between not just the sexes but humans. Everyone feels so lost just grabbing at eachother like a life vest. Cassavetes is the real bubba. Get your hands on this one especially, but also Shadows and The Killing of A Chinese Bookie. elizium
Inside Llewn Davis Some really good music, and some really good performances. John Goodman Beeeeeeeee Ceeeeeeeeeeee GEEEEEE! bit made me laugh pretty hard as did the black arts speech. Just watched this a couple days ago and hated it. I don't mind movies that kind of meander around and don't end up anywhere, but at least give me a lead with some charisma or likeability. Llewyn didn't have enough drive to get behind, nor was enough of a dick to be a proper cad. I kept getting distracted by Llewyn kinda looking and sounding like a bearded Nick Miller from New Girl. I really hate folk music though, so it was probably going to be a doomed watch, as I was never going to be drawn in by the music. The Dylan cameo made me ugh... John Goodman was like a glorious breath of fresh air, the Coen's should have pulled a The Place Beyond the Pines and switched up leads at that point. Carey Mulligan was pretty well wasted as well. I did like Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver as the John Glenn trio though. Pretty much the only musical moment I enjoyed. Definitely at the bottom of the Coen's output.
