odessasteps Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Is it any worse than the other company hawking Flairs mushroom drink?
odessasteps Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) Will blame snowstorm for dodgy Wi-Fi when posting. I like the idea of raw have fluid ending time. More sports like. Edited January 6 by odessasteps
just drew Posted January 6 Posted January 6 A couple weeks ago I asserted that WWE was at the very least, Racially insensitive, if not outright racist. I got shouted down. This is now a series of awful looks. At what point does it become the accepted reality? 3

Willingly doing business with murderous, despotic regimes does strike me as being on another level from that. 2
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Please tell me that Hulk's company is owned by like Anheuser Busch InBev or Molson Coors or some other major company. You're telling me WWE couldn't get a blue chip beer sponsor? UFC changed beer sponsors last year and it was trending on Twitter for like half a day cause some right wing nuts thought Bud Light was too liberal.
odessasteps Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I mean, I dislike Hogan as much as the next guy, but I wouldn’t call him a despot, no matter how bad 1995 WCW got. 4

Well - if the next guy happens to be The Natural, I suspect you don't in fact dislike Hogan quite as much. 1 5

Worse, Great Central Brewing Company out of Chicago, which according to their site does a bunch of craft beers, which that alone would be enough for me to tell them to fuck off.

Infinit Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Definitely looks like they are pandering to a certain demographic with the Hogan beer, but it is a little head scratching as the want to be viewed as a "global brand".
Cobra Commander Posted January 7 Posted January 7 the "CROWD BOOING" caption is good for memes of Hogan in late 1995 WCW, or the redubbed version of Sid eliminating Hogan in the 1992 Rumble 1
Octopus Posted January 7 Posted January 7 What’s the over-under for what month the Brock return will be?
Curt McGirt Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I'm gonna hold my tongue about the things different beer companies support that would make you stop drinking them

Thank you for this. Sucks seeing WWE partner with Hulk Hogan's Real American Beer. In all honesty I'll probably still watch WWE but this is really pushing me whether to or not. I've hated Hogan from a kid to a man as he always won, that doesn't work for me, brother when he didn't as he's a selfish bastard but worst of all, he's a racist piece of shit. F Hulk Hogan. Smiled seeing and hearing Hogan booed out of the building on RAW last night. Even WWE hasn't put that up on YouTube. 3

I mean no ill will to those that love them and honestly I want to love them too. But anyway... Hide contents Between this, the gaudy mat they're showing tonight and them owning part of Hogan's beer company my interest in WWE is starting to wane again. WWE tends to be a sign of the times and with the way things are I'm best off canceling Netflix and being done with it all. Which is a shame because they're still really really great but that's how it goes. Yeah, I'm fickle and without stating why yeah I'm on a moral high horse. So what? And don't bother pointing out hypocrisies elsewhere, I see it too. And again, so what? And yes, I know I'm one person and this won't mean shit to them but again so what. I honestly don't even care to discuss this further but just had to get this off my chest. 13 hours ago, Eivion said: Not jumping off myself, but I don't blame you. Everyone has their limits and sometimes its just too much at once. 13 hours ago, worldcupfever said: It's all just so disappointing. I don't think anyone is surprised by anything the company does with or without Vince, but it's just exhausting to try to support (or even just keep up with) a company this truly nasty. In full agreement. Well said, lads. 1

Technico Support Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Apparently WWE is now a minority owner in Real American Beer. Shocking, considering Hogan’s stance on minorities. 1 1 10
Cobra Commander Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Guessing Hogan doesn’t win the Rumble as a result of not being able to be safely thrown over the top rope and we don’t get Gunther/Hogan at WM41 1

AxB Posted January 7 Posted January 7 That does make me wonder, have they always been part-owner, or did they buy part of the business as part of the deal to get Hogan on Netflix episode one? Because if they did just acquire it in the last few, it makes them look pretty bloody stupid right now, doesn't it?
Cobra Commander Posted January 7 Posted January 7 while Flair hasn't had a great few years, his reputation is holding up a lot better than Hogan's
Cobra Commander Posted January 7 Posted January 7 also just realized that a double underhook/butterfly suplex would be a good fakeout if you wanted to make people think you were gonna hit the Pedigree or the Tiger Driver.. like what Bret Hart did with the stomp to the gut that looked like he would either stomp a guy's nuts or put on the Sharpshooter
ka-to Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Real American Beer is currently rated at 2.82 out of 5, making it the 89th rated Light Beer and the 25,944th rated of all beers according to Beer Advocate. Just like Hogan who is about the 89th best corny steroid guy and 25,944th best overall wrestler. 1 7
