Saudi's get their major show...

Royal Rumble 2026 will be in the KSA.

KSA officials needed the lead time to get their tools ready.  They heard there’d be one winner and 29 eliminations.

Chad Austin on BTS was dwicussing just how dumb Mike Awesome was, which might explain why he did some of the crazy stuff in the ring.

At least he wasn’t a shitty human being who trashes people after they are dead.

With this and Hulk Hogan not only being welcomed back with open arms but also advertising his products,  WWE is pretty much UFC and that's not a good thing.

WWE doesn’t have any Dagestanis, yet

Especially, when they hung themselves after a failed marriage and failed real estate business (IIRC).

There was a reason for the shoot beating he took at the ECW Arena I noted earlier...

My love for Punk not withstanding, I wonder where his allegiance will lie for the Rumble in Saudi.  With his supposed "morals" or his wallet.

Just wondering out loud if him and Miz will go suck a I have strong opinions about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which you should PM me about. But I wanted to express them here too because I can't help myself covered dick together.

EDIT:  First time I got hit with that and it just makes the sentence hilarious to me now.

That... actually looks cool.

Now I wonder what DEAN would have thought about it now. *sigh*

I know that in this modern era we are lucky that we almost exclusively get full shows but things like this are good examples of why clipped matches on old commercial tapes aren't the worst thing in the world. I'm sure that match is brutal to watch in real time but the clips are cool. I love that kick Kitao does to Mabel while he's on his back.

Exactly. Also, I wanna know how many Japanese people were complaining about not seeing a full length Koji Kitao match.

I am kinda sad that even went away over here cause the best thing Coliseum Video ever did was edited crappy events to a more tolerable two hours or less. If you're not going to edit a terrible match completely out, the only version should be the digest one of all the highspots. Save people the time and agony.

I'm genuinely asking this.... when was the last time that someone on WWE said "sports entertainment?" I know that Ethan Page called Trick Williams a sports entertainer but maybe I've missed it.

Cody said it last night. He also mentioned pro wrestling itself. Its not quite as used anymore as THE buzzword, but it hasn't died either.

I love having access to the full events,  shitty matches and all.  But I'm into more than just the matches themselves.  I like to hear Gorilla and Ventura's banter or Gorilla/Heenan and I like all the little backstage interviews during the events that were previously edited out on VHS.

full events are good for some degree of context too... like the AWA Super Sunday show when you see everything else the AWA was doing and then you see how much more over Hogan was by comparison

Yeah, in 2025, when some stuff has been unearthed that hasn't been seen before it's great. However, in 1991 for example, your time could've been better served than watching all fourteen or fifteen minutes of Bill Kazmaier & Jushin Liger v. Diamond Dallas Page & Mike Graham on WCW Starrcade 1991. Like running a railroad spike clean through the other side of your head.

And that's probably not even the worst match on the show. Or even the second worst, which is mindboggling. There is like 500% more Firebreaker Chip, Todd Champion, PN News, and the Nightstalker than anyone could have possibly wanted.

The old DVDVRs are full of all kinds of complaints about the digest tapes, but usually that they'd cut the juniors to shit and you'd get the entirety of a Freedom Dogs match. And then sometimes it's the other way around and you have 10 minutes of perfunctory matwork before the juniors got to the highspots and had an actual match.

if Jacques Rougeau hit a top rope leg drop, would it be called a Jacques Jam (Jock Jam)?

If hit and transgender, would he call not the "Rock'n'Jacques"?

The commercial tape talk got me thinking: what's everyone's favorite commercial tapes? I'm a big fan of the FMW Story of the F series.  I'm also a fan of the one Valis tape with AAA in Japan.

I watched the shit out of the "History of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship" that was out in the 97 that covered from the belt's inception in 86 up to the J-Crown in 97.  It was like, 2 tapes long and most of the stuff was clipped but it had a ton of high profile title matches and some Top/Best of the Super Jr's stuff.

That sounds awesome. A user on Archive has a ton of NJPW comm tapes. I'll have to do some digging and see if I can find that. The M-Pro "These Days" tape is another one that I watched a ton, as well as the 4th Anniversary tape.

"These Days" was the first Japanese tape I ever bought and it was a really confusing experience because I bought it for the 10-man and the main event and expected everything to be like that, but instead it starts with Wellington Wilkins jr vs Lenny Lane and a million year-old Johnny Saint wrestling Hoshikawa.  Plus my tape for some reason included the video of Fujiwara wrestling a bear.  Puroresu is truly a land of contrasts.

I'm just gonna put this in spoilers as it's me venting about WWE.  I mean no ill will to those that love them and honestly I want to love them too.  But anyway...

Spoiler

Between this, the gaudy mat they're showing tonight and them owning part of Hogan's beer company my interest in WWE is starting to wane again.  WWE tends to be a sign of the times and with the way things are I'm best off canceling Netflix and being done with it all.  Which is a shame because they're still really really great but that's how it goes.

Yeah, I'm fickle and without stating why yeah I'm on a moral high horse.  So what?  And don't bother pointing out hypocrisies elsewhere, I see it too.  And again, so what?  And yes, I know I'm one person and this won't mean shit to them but again so what.  I honestly don't even care to discuss this further but just had to get this off my chest.

Not jumping off myself, but I don't blame you. Everyone has their limits and sometimes its just too much at once.

It's all just so disappointing.  I don't think anyone is surprised by anything the company does with or without Vince, but it's just exhausting to try to support (or even just keep up with) a company this truly nasty.
