HarryArchieGus Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I read this morning, forgive me if this has already been posted, that the Outrunners are outselling much of the roster in merchandise sales. They're in the top 10 behind the AEW brand, Ospreay, MJF, ROH as a brand(huh?), Mariah, Darby and artist Rob Schamberger. Maybe it's time!?
Casey Posted September 11 Posted September 11 They’re #6 for the week. They’re #7 for the month. I’m not counting that high but they’re about midway through on Page 3 for the entire year. The fans have spoken, we want the real Young Bucks. 1
Brandon Bones Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I could see a squash set up for the Outrunners with the Grapes of Agony that has them slip on the old banana peel to get shit started. That one was for free Coach. 2 2
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 After Excalibur said there were 21 teams in the back, I was hoping this would be one time they went the distance, just for the pure absurdity. 3
TimLivingston Posted September 12 Posted September 12 When they win it’s gonna be Acclaimed-level huge. Probably bigger. Tough crowd. Tony needs to figure out arena sizes. 1
S.K.o.S. Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Okay, didn't Mox tell Darby that Bryan wasn't going to make it to Grand Slam? What did he say there? 1

They literally said "The new top heel is full of shit. DREAM MATCH!" I literally thought that was the whole purpose of the Darby-Mox promo.
Jamal Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Enjoyed Aminata/Mariah. Almost hoped Aminata would manage the upset but I knew better. Wondering if Mina is going to be Mariah's first proper feud post winning the title.

Nigel will crow about it for a while and boom, you have your Wrestledream main.

Lee & Swerve/Fletcher & Ospreay are great, but the fans obviously want someone else. Granted the Outrunners probably need some more wins to actually be credible contenders, but still. Hopefully this is the start of something beautiful. I hate hate hate that a thrown together team, even if they are well established friends and former(?) stablemates x2 now. It’s not fun when WWE does it, it’s not fun when AEW does it when they’re in the process of rebuilding their tag division. No wonder the MCMGs didn’t sign tbh. Although I don’t know if they’ll have any better of a time in WWE. Nigel/Bryan is confusing for sure, but this whole BCC takeover thing is weird anyway. Was it ever definitely said that Darby gets his shot at Grand Slam, or was that just an assumption by fans? I haven’t really watched anything AEW in a hot minute besides Twitter clips. I’m a little sad that Kentucky didn’t care about the announcement of Bryan versus Nigel, but I mean, it’s fucking Kentucky, it’s not their most diehard fanbase. Shane versus Tony at Grand Slam Australia will be wild! That’s what’s happening, right??? @RazorbladeKiss87 I dunno, seems like they’re perfectly setting up the story of Darby proving to Mox he’s ready, gets his shot at WrestleDream in Washington, and wins in front of his home state/Bryan rides off into the part timer sunset in his home state. Grand Slam for Nigel/Bryan would also be 15 years and one day since their ROH match. Edited September 12 by Casey 4
GodzillaPerez Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Also, while the buzz is here... Pouring change into a car? Were they not allowed to actually destroy the Bentley? I thought for a few minutes the MCMG's would show but then it ended.
Casey Posted September 12 Posted September 12 If it was anyone but Orange Cassidy you might have a point.

That would make sense on one level, but presumably the Wrestledream main event is Danielson vs the winner of Darby vs Mox. Which will almost certainly be Mox. 4 minutes ago, Casey said: Was it ever definitely said that Darby gets his shot at Grand Slam, or was that just an assumption by fans? I'm reasonably confident they explicitly said the match was for a shot at Grand Slam. 4 minutes ago, Casey said: @RazorbladeKiss87 I dunno, seems like they’re perfectly setting up the story of Darby proving to Mox he’s ready, gets his shot at WrestleDream in Washington, and wins in front of his home state/Bryan rides off into the part timer sunset in his home state. No way they did the angle they did at All Out then retire Danielson without he and Mox main eventing a PPV. Wouldn't make any sense.

I found myself just not wanting to see any of the teams wrestle the Bucks, except the Outrunners. The tag devision needs a shake up. I would like to see Will vs Dante now though. Also, I don't know what would make them think Sammy with a man bun would be a babyface but that man will already be a heel to me.
EVA Posted September 12 Posted September 12 People signing with AEW don’t do “farewell to the indies” tours, because AEW talent can still work indies. MCMGs are WWE-bound. 2

Has it actually been confirmed that they've signed with WWE? I could see Mark Fletcher returning at Grand Slam and turning on Kyle for leaving him high and dry. I'm generally pretty neutral on the Young Bucks, but this reign needs to end. It's been a chore to watch. 4

Wouldn't make any sense. Look I’m just gonna say it, if we get another Mox title reign I’m done caring about this entire story. Bryan dropping the title to Darby in Washington and that’s the end of him as a full time competitor is good. He can still do occasional matches, like against Mox at Full Gear. Mox telling Darby in front of everyone, and to his face, that he’s not ready now and never has been, then beats him in 2 weeks and takes his title shot? Yeah that’s a big nope from me, dawg. 1
The Natural Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Looking forward to Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness for the AEW World Championship. Not looking forward to Jon Moxley beating Darby Allin for his guaranteed AEW World Championship shot and Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley. Wanted to see Bryan Danielson vs. Darby Allin ever since Danielson joined AEW at AEW All Out 2021. 1

Yeah that’s a big nope from me, dawg. Fair point. Danielson has to wrestle Mox, but not necessarily at Wrestledream. On the other hand, Mox winning could be fine depending on how he wins. If he pulls out a bullshit heel victory I don't think it hurts Darby. 2 minutes ago, The Natural said: Looking forward to Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness for the AEW World Championship. TimLivingston Posted September 12 Posted September 12 (edited) It’s not for the title. Yeah, I could see Fletcher and Ospreay even win, then have turn and give the title to Davis. Edited September 12 by TimLivingston

I think you might have it inverted; Nigel thinks Bryan is injured and unable to compete, so he demanded this match to make him look like a coward when he does not show up to face him at Grand Slam. But then when Bryan does show up, Nigel will have to actually fight him. Advertising the match (which might actually move a few tickets) and then not doing it would be some bait-n-switch bullshit. 9

When Callis and Kyle were trying to butter up Ospreay, Kyle said something to the effect of "I've never had a better partner then you!" 4

I really hope Mox isn't the one to end Danielson's AEW World Championship reign, give it someone who needs it. Make someone new.

I mean they've already crossed this bridge as it is possible a Darby title shot vs either Danielson or Swerve convinced some people to pick up tickets already. Confusing show at times with the whole "Danielson won't be there so fight me instead"/"actually Danielson will be there" deal and the dumping coins on Bentley deal which must have looked much better on paper than it did in execution, but fine enough regardless.
