I saw a comment online where someone said they couldn’t watch AEW because it reminded them of WCW under Russo and it reminded me that there are just a lot of really dumb people out there.

It's why I stay here for wrestling and when I occasionally mention it on Facebook as I have friends from here as well.

Facebook is cesspool of bad wrestling opinions.

We need the centerfold from the Badstreet USA album photoshopped with P.S.'s eyes rolled back in his head.

Hayes wearing a black and white version of the Confederate flag on his face would be... interesting? Maybe a buncha little pentagrams?

I talked about this before, but I had a coworker bring up wrestling saying he didn't watch AEW but he liked MJF. I was thinking like "WTF? How do you know who he is then?"

I still don't get WWE partisans in this day and age. I was one of them, too. But then I saw Rey Misterio, Jr. and Eddy Guerrero and grew up. Nowadays (and this is probably why he has watched some AEW) you can't help but be exposed to other wrestling stuff on the internet and through the airwaves with AEW, TNA, and even frickin NJPW, WOW, MLW, and AAA (albeit all buried) on TV. It's like having that good access in certain areas of the country or had certain cable access in the '80s where you could watch different territories. Where was that again? I know someone on here lived there or had that.

You'd imagine with no All In at Wembley next year - WWE will go for a two night Summerslam there.

All In will be in Texas next year and then returning to Wembly in 2026.  Smart move, really.

I hope TK is not going to try and fill Cowboys Stadium.

The news story has been for like five hours, and they had a press conference at the venue they're running. Where did you get Cowboys Stadium from? Also, I don't think it's been Cowboys Stadium in a minute. Like Manny Pacquiao fought there 15 years ago almost, and they had already sold the naming rights by then.

At least I didn’t say New Texas Stadium. Like many stubborn old folks, I prefer calling building by their old names. 😀
(It was also still Cowboys Stadium when I went there for a game years ago. )

I'm not going to get in to specifics for Peck-netico reasons but I highly recommend you all follow Samantha Irvin's Instagram account, especially on Wednesdays.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Callipygous reasons? One second let me check...

Yes. Oh my.

for those who haven't heard, All-In will be at the Texas Rangers ballpark on July 12th, 2025. The Rangers have a long gap between home games (July 2nd to July 18th) and July 12th is the Saturday before the All-Star Break

and for those unfamiliar... the Rangers moved into a new indoors ballpark a few years ago, it does have the same name as their former ballpark which was not outdoors (that former ballpark is now Choctaw Stadium)

It wasn't me, but I've lived in Michigan my whole life. We got a lot of different territories there. WWF, JCP, AWA, World Class, UWF, WWA and a Canadian promotion of some sort, for sure. I remember seeing brief flashes of wrestling on what I think was the Financial News Network and seeing a Gorgeous George match on some channel, among others. I was five and six years old and wrestling was all over the dial in my house.

Of course, I drove my family nuts.

At first I thought you were talking about the (old) Texas Stadium, and I was gonna say "yeah, I don't think that exists anymore".

Now with that said, does anyone own the rights to the name "Parade of Champions"? Cause if you revive the old Championship Wrestling from Florida "Battle of the Belts" event title name, you might as well do a Parade of Champions in the DFW area.

Better yet, TONY KHAN PRESENTS POST INDEPENDENCE DAY LOL NOT STAR WARS.

My wrestling friends on Facebook are cool, for me it's Wrestling twitter that is annoying with the tribalism and everything else when it comes to wrestling. It bothers me on both sides of the spectrum. I want both companies to thrive. We all lived through the business without a number two promotion. I couldn't imagine anyone actually wanting one of the major companies to go out business even if you don't watch. I understand alot of major people and podcasters make a living bashing AEW or even WWE but that's to play to an audience. If either company went out of business they'd have to switch their whole platform lol

My problem with FB is not my friends. It’s all the unwanted pages it shows me that I do not have any interest in seeing. And that’s not just wrestling, but comics, baseball and plenty of other topics.

I think that was bobholly living in Alabama who got Florida, JCP, and a couple other regional promotions. I can't @ the guy, but if I recall correctly, living in SE Alabama (IIRC) had it's wrestling-related benefits.

I got WWF, JCP, World ClasS, AWA, and sometimes ICW, depending on the antenna. Then UWF when they expanded. But living where I did, I could watch all the WWF/JCP shows multiple times, either from Baltimore or Philly UHF stations.

Did you get channel 50 out of DC?  There was a little while in maybe the late 80s or early 90s where they had a different territory on at 5 every weeknight — I remember AWA, USWA (Eric Embry version), Global, and either GLOW or POWW.

In the earlier 80s, we got Superstars on I think the CBS affiliate at 11:30 Saturday night, Challenge at 4 on Saturday afternoons on pre-Fox 45, UWF in the slot before that for a little while, and Crockett at noon on Saturday and Sunday.  I think we also got WWF Wrestling Spotlight on DC 20 sometime.

It was definitely the late 80s because I used to watch it after school.  It was my first exposure to stuff outside of WWF.

Pretty sure they ran GLOW until it ended and then they switched to POWW.

Also it was WCCW at first and then the 'switchover' happened.
