I'm alive. Nowhere near good but I'm doing a good job of pretending. Like always.

I'll have more news to come in the next week; over the next two days I'm just gonna try to get some control going. There isn't any other option.

We'll be here when you're ready; we always are.

Keep on going best you can, dude. Like always we got your back.

I have had a different situation yet there's been times where I lost control of things I should have had. Some things I got back on track, others are a work in progress. But when there's that sense of getting some sense of control it feels incredible. Hope that happens often for you.

We're doing alright.  Kate got her sutures out yesterday.  One small part of the wound wouldn't close so they steri-stripped it shut til her next appointment but overall she's healing well.

How are you holding up, bud?

Sorry I've only just replied. Having notification issues. Glad you and Kate are ok, mate. 38 stitches, damn.

Feeling rough, mentally and physically. Thank you for asking, bud.

Echo all this. We're in your corner, pal.

Taking the time this morning to fill out FEMA's disaster assistance. Figure it can't hurt, they can only tell me no like most every government agency has.

I had to narrowly avoid the experience of having "Dance Hall Days" by Wang Chung playing from two different sources at the same time (KROQ's Roq of the 80s HD2 channel was playing it at the same time as the video was on MTV Classic)

One of my worst radio moments was having "Hotel California" on the only two stations I could get in on a late night road trip.

KROQ's Roq of the 80s HD2 is a good station on the Audacy app if you like to just hear 80s New Wave and some other things that aren't technically New Wave that were played on that station in the 80s. The station seems a lot more automated from a few years ago since well, it's less expensive to play a playlist instead of paying DJs.

Then again i'm in the elites that can just pair a phone with a bluetooth speaker so I can play stuff in the background.

My two dumb stories of injury from my youth:

1) Watching an Expos baseball game - for reasons I cannot discern - and they made a big comeback. I jumped out of my chair, first raised - and hit the ceiling fan above me, shattering the light, raining glass down on myself. Cut my arm and I have a scar from it to this day. Somehow did not get in trouble.

2) Walking to school, I ignored or misread the walk signal and stepped right in front a car going 30mph. Rolled up on the hood, headbutted the windshield, and was knocked out. I then rolled off the hood. I woke up in the street with a whole bunch of people around me and tried to continue on to school. I was instead taken to the hospital - which was on the corner where I was crossing. I was literally 150ft from the ER entrance. I ended up with a mild scrape/cut on my forehead and some soreness. I went bowling the next day. The car was totaled and "looked like it hit a tree" according to insurance.

That's right, I got more hurt celebrating a baseball game I didn't care about than getting run over by a car.

That sounds awful. I'd rather stab myself in the ears with a rusty fork than listen to Hotel California.

Right now, I'm in a rental car since my car was rear ended and ended up with almost $9,000 worth of damage. It's a nice Jeep Grand Cherokee that I have except there's no SiriusXM and no cd player. I'm having to settle for listening to WFAN. I guess I can hook up a USB and listen to Pandora through my phone.

A friend of mine lost all his musical equipment and his home. He owned a record store in town and was a musician in several bands, so if you've ever been a person like that, you know the personal affects. Help if you're able. https://www.facebook.com/curt.mcgirt.7/posts/pfbid0MKAEi7AZudc62ud3PD3Dkgv2oDUQPX6vfojrWu3hEfgKjhUNkT164moER5vmrMvxl?notif_id=1728086247413745&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif

I feel for you, JL. Best of luck under all this.

Thankfully, considering I've got a good friend and some friends that don't even know me that I pick up tons of records from and would love to meet out in NC, they didn't get hit with the damage he, or you, did. It's insane. 20 foot walls of water in the space of about as many minutes? You can't defend against that. It's incredible, in the worst way.

Also, and this is slightly shameful... I hate the Eagles as much as the Dude and I've heard it a zillion times, but I still kinda like "Hotel California". It's probably the solos. But hearing it over and over again... please, give me "Sultans of Swing" if you're gonna do that.

And of course I found this live version of "Sultans of Swing" that is incredibly dope, also goofy and long as hell. But that's part of why it rules. Every musician except the bass player getting his own solo part rules. He does crowd work with the dancing about at the end though? So it's something? Maybe he just can't do lead stuff on bass; not everybody is Steve DiGiorgio. 😛

It's World Cerebral Palsy Day. 17 million people have this causing damage to the brain and muscles at birth. Cerebral Palsy means my body works five times harder doing the same actions as those without. We were told I'd never walk or talk properly but through my family and health professionals who supported, we proved the naysayers wrong.

I’ve always maintained that The Eagles are just country music for people who don’t want to admit liking country music.

Was hoping to have a relaxing evening at home. Instead I’m sitting in an ER room with one of my fingertips in a baggie.  Hopefully things improve from here.

That's terrible. I hope it can be salvaged. Missing a tip on one of my digits as well.

Couldn’t save it.  Could’ve been a whole lot worse, though.  Easily could’ve been 3-4 fingers instead of one.   And it’s my non dominant hand, so it won’t hamper me too much hopefully.

Fun evening. My wife’s car got broken into about 15 minutes after I got home.  Whoever did it absconded with two old tennis balls. WTF?

Oh, man. Sorry about the accident and the POS breaking into your wife's car.

Dammit. Well, I'm still functioning fine, even though it's tip of the index finger of my dominant hand, so hopefully you'll be OK in due time. Still sucks though. As does the car burglary! Oh, boy! Evidently, not the greatest day over there! Stay safe, as much as it is possible, at this point.

Bro I think a golden retriever broke into your car.

Sorry about your finger and your car, that is one hell of a day.
