Did not expect to learn today that quite a few DVDVR members are missing parts of fingers!

To quote MXM, "just the tip" for me at least!

Reminds me of an old joke that is definitely better told/heard than it is read:

A guy calls his wife to say he's had an accident at the factory

He says, "I got my finger cut off!"

She asks, "The whole finger?"

He replies, "No, the one next to it."

I don't have much depression these days but I do have Anhedonia. Even if i didn't had Anhedonia, doesn't seem most things are interesting anyway anymore, at least compared to previous decades. The arts, music, entertainment and media and more from previous decades were more interesting to me.

Sometimes I dont fix typos or grammar stuff. Bothers what's left my OCD to do so. I'm also not anal retentive.

Interviewing tomorrow for a job as a "trash panda"(my word, no one else's(that I know of))(aka driving a trash truck the size of the Jawa ship). Had a phone interview last week(which went quite well). Tomorrow is an in person interview. Hopefully it goes well and hopefully(I use that word a lot) they'll be receptive to me starting after the current job is finished(which we're still waiting on an end date for). If there's an overlap between the end of the current job and the start of the new one I plan on taking a road trip to experience the vibes of Bucc-ee's and Cook Out.

Similarly... kinda, I went back to my job aide at LifeLinks today for the zillionth time to get back on the horse. New social worker, very nice young lady who engagingly listened to me spill my guts about almost my entire life history and certainly my entire work history. They also had a new building that was a pain in the ass to find (even with Google Maps working on it) that has an ENORMOUS office compared to the barren walk-in closets they used to be in. Another plus is that they have an in-house therapist that I'm definitely gonna take advantage of, especially since my last one retired (as she should have for as useless as she proved to be). LifeLinks has been a tremendous help over the years helping me hustle my resume around when I'd otherwise probably just isolate myself and do nothing, and they've found me several jobs. Nothing lasting longer than a year, but hey, that's on me. And the jobs.

Today is World Mental Health Day. I've been open about my mental health more here than anywhere else, the self-harm and suicidal thoughts. Very few know about those. I just wanted to give thanks to you for not judging and supporting me. Love, Paul xxx.

Strong username/prospective job synergy you've got there.

Taking the time this morning to fill out FEMA's disaster assistance. Figure it can't hurt, they can only tell me no like most every government agency has.

I actually did qualify for a bit of help, under the "Miscellaneous clean up costs" category, which is amazing and I am very grateful for it. It'll cover what I spent to restock the fridge and freezer, and leave me a bit to bribe a nephew or two with when they have a couple free hours and can come down and help me break down and move some of the larger tree limbs.

How was it?

It’s the champagne of beers!  How do you think it was?

That reminds me, I used to drink malt liquor a lot when I was younger.  A few years ago, I thought, “why not?”  And drank a 40 of Steel Reserve.  It was not good…instead of a pleasant buzz, it just made me angry.  You truly can never go back.

Honestly, no clue, as I don't drink beer.

Also, any alcohol that makes one angry, is obviously not working as intended and SHOULD be steered clear of at any cost.

Eh, sometimes it comes in handy.

No, wait! I know the alcohol that does make me angry every time: The one that runs out before I'm done!

Sometimes you want a nice drink and sometimes you just want a bottle of something that you know the cops will fight you for.

We bought a new car last weekend: '22 Accord hybrid.  It's one of the higher trim levels so it has all the safety features and bells and whistles you could imagine.  It's far and away the nicest thing I've ever owned and makes our 2014 look like a model T.  My wife also got the last of her stitches out on Monday so we can put our car crash saga to bed.  The other driver never did contact us or our insurance.  My guess is they figured out after the fact that they technically did a hit and run and decided fixing their car on their own was easier than dealing with that.

I lived on Steel Reserve for about six months one year, unemployed in a house with a feuding couple next room over, bottom floor infested with roaches. It was $2.50 for two tallboys and I could walk down to the Circle K to grab em, rain or snow. That shit isn't beer. It's a bunch of chemicals. And it will fuck you up mentally and physically, badly.

If you wanted a 40 you should have just went for the champaign of malt liquor: Mickey's!

All the college shitheads drank Mickey’s grenades.  We stuck to Colt 45, Crazy Horse, and Hurricane.  🤣

I drank those grenades like water but we drank any and everything. 8-Ball, Colt, King Cobra, St. Ides, Magnum, 40s of High Life and PBR. Four Loko did a wreck on us when it came out. We drank GALLONS of Beast Ice more than anything.

Had a 24 oz. tallboy of Natty Daddy(8% MFR!) and four shots of Jim Beam. Got that all for $8.

Log, the interview was what it was. They had another interview after mine. It went well, but I'm susceptible to strong smells(Didn't mention that during the interview).

Worked today and learned that another driver had given their notice. Still no word from management on a definite timeline. But notices are supposed to go out to customers (next Monday or Tuesday). Too many fucking rumors and innuendo(because after a while all of those rumors fly out your window) for my liking.

Push comes to shove I end up adding either Haz Mat or Passenger endorsements to my CDL. Either one is iffy to me because I don't like explody stuff or live cargo, but I would deliver fuel or drive a bus if push came to shove.

The biggest thing is I think I need a palate cleanser(doing something I haven't done before) just to get my head out of my ass and figure out what I want to do until I can retire(another 12+ years), but I'm not interested in anything solely related to the RV industry(because of layoffs). Worst case scenario(not that bad actually) is delivering commercial trucks across the US and Canada.
Time will only tell.
