Curt McGirt Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I was gonna go all 45 Grave (goth-wise) on y'all and you decide to take a right turn. Other people noticed the same/similar problems. There was a long Wikimedia thread about it. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T379983 Between that and the Tyson Netflix thing, where my solution to the problem was just "back out of the stream and go back in instead of waiting", a fine weekend of random tech stuff. Meanwhile, i've been hitting the http version of this board instead of https so i've been able to post YouTube videos on here without going to my phone. I'm sure that'll randomly resolve itself and eat one of my posts soon enough.
Lawful Metal Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Holy shit, I just won an appeal today. Not a complete reversal, but they removed a deadly weapon paragraph, cutting his sentence (at least) in half. Of course, my Lawful Wife had the winning arguments and research. Woohoo! 8

driver Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 Today marked the end of my ten year journey at Shelton's Farm Market in Niles, MI. I came into this job knowing zero about produce, but I knew that the job paid time and a quarter after forty five hours(vs. the previous job which paid ZERO OT even though I worked 60-65 hrs/wk). During my time there I learned routes over most of Southwest Lower Michigan and Northern Indiana. After a while burnout becomes a serious thing and giving zero fucks starts to wedge it's way in. Especially when going to Grand Rapids, MI(which was the source of most of our back hauls). Even though anger came easily(not towards customers(for the most part)), I tried to keep it professional. The disgruntledness came to a head a little over two years ago and I took a job switching between a straight truck and a semi delivering meat for a few months. The one good thing to come out of that detour was me calling a worker at a customer "Mr. Moustache Meat Shoes"(because he had a stache and his work boots always had meat on them). So a new era begins next week. Here We Go. 9

Been having stomach pains for sometime. Dr Jundi asked me to do a stool sample in September and got the results back in October, I'm good. Dr Jundi asked me to do this more in-depth test which looks for hidden blood just to be completely sure. Got my results back this week and I've tested positive. Dr Jundi was shocked I had and I was off the scale. Had to have emergency blood tests same day and she's sent an urgent referral to the hospital in the next two weeks for a colonoscopy. I'm dreading from past experience. Trying to not let my mind race to the worst possible outcome and be positive but I have a bad feeling about this. Hope to fuck I'm wrong. Couldn't happen at a worse time as December is a trigger month with Mum's Birthday and Christmas. Christmas has always been my favourite time of year even though it's not what it was since Mum's passing. I don't want to be in hospital during this period. Power of positivity please and thank you. Prep before the procedure will really suck as will the colonoscopy. Edited November 26, 2024 by The Natural 4
Cobra Commander Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 just did my maintenance work for the week/month/etc yesterday, I felt the armrest on my computer chair was a little loose, and then I felt around and noticed that the screws/bolts/whatever was gone but I couldn't figure out where it went to today, I noticed a screw was on the ground, and put it back in and now no more random wiggle of course the chair is technically broken for different reasons (length of usage plus weight) but that's a thing I really can't fix my favorite maintenance work I did was the time the floss dropped down a drain, and was wedged in it, so I used the can opener part of a swiss army knife to hook the floss and pull it out of the drain 1
Mike Campbell Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in these parts who celebrates. My holiday officially started yesterday at work, and calling it "work" is actually a pretty loose interpretation. We did a potluck breakfast that pretty much went from 6:30 until close to 9. We actually did some work from 9-11, and then at 11 the big boss told me and my supervisor that everyone was getting released at 2. But, since we'd been busting our ass so much lately, we can just leave now and don't worry about clocking out. 5 2
