  1. Minoru Suzuki recently tweeted something that I think fits really comfortably within the sentiments expressed in that paragraph, regarding the vulnerability/invincibility duality inherent in pro wrestling:

  4. I like Alexa also. I think she's a good heel even if sometimes it's pretty clear she doesn't want to take a bump. Also, the being afraid to take a bump thing is a recent thing because she wasn't always like that. Anyway, yeah, I'm right there with you in thinking that MitB should have been Becky's night. That said, now Becky has the dreaded veteran's support (not to be confused with veteran presence) since a bunch of dudes like Austin, Edge, and others have said they need to go with Becky, which means she'll just get buried now.

  12. Many of the FMW commercial tapes from the 90s and early 00s can be found in full on youtube. Like ECW, whose workers they sometimes used, it's not for everyone's taste. But also like ECW, there's good wrestling in there amidst the garbage. (Megumi Kudo vs Combat Toyoda exploding barbwire death match is IMO one of the greatest women's matches of the 90s, in a decade where the Japanese women were doing outstanding work)

  14. Too many matches on one show ending with a roll-up. But if that's the only criticism of an Impact show, at first glance...that's amazing.

  17. He is in Diddy Kong racing which I guess is part of the extended Mario Kart universe (at least in Japan) Plus I don't think anyone was gonna tell Becky she couldn't dress up like a squirrel

  18. I was introduced to him through his segment on Sci Fi Buzz. That segment was THE SHIT you guys. They just gave him a camera and let him rant. It was like Andy Rooney but someone who you gave a shit what they thought.

  23. Every time I think the Kings couldn't possibly Kings any harder than they already are, they surprise me. They're going to start mining cryptocurrency for...some reason. This definitely ends with the team owned by some Russian scammers and honestly they couldn't do a much worse job than the current ownership.

  24. Yes to all of this. It took me a few viewings, but I love the director's previous movie Beyond The Black Rainbow. This movie looks amazing.

  29. I've been dealing with my dad's dementia for a while now and one thing I have learned is that you can handle more than you think you can. The key is to set up a daily or weekly ritual for yourself that is dedicated to de-stressing. Now you know why I play video games so much. Give yourself time to grieve so that you purge all of that negative energy out of your sprit. That way you can go on with your life remembering the happy times when your aunt was happy and in good health.

  30. Watching BTE and Adam Page clearly has the best 1980s sitcom smile during the intro and his smile is pretty great in general. Maybe he has untapped potential as a white meat babyface. I've never bought into his tough guy routine, so hopefully he gets a shot down the line. That is all. Edit: I really do enjoy the Kazarian/Daniels good cop/bad cop behind the camera routine. Frankie killed Scurll so hard. Big fan of the random SCU shouts too. One thing they've overstretched this season is the Lethal/Macho skits.

  31. Alia Shawkat was awesome. On the whole, I enjoyed it more than the fourth season. But the plot and details were definitely difficult to keep up with at times since it’s been so long since I watched the entire fourth season. It definitely feels like the show’s moment has passed. As for the filming, it sounds like Mitch pulled a David Milch and was giving people pages hot off the printer at the last moment. Yikes. Speaking of things having their moment, anyone watch the Hannah Gadsby special? Harrowing stuff. And the jokes were good too.

  37. He would be happy to hear that. He and I share a deep appreciation for King Sid. He's a good dude. He's come on my podcast quite a few times and he's always super cool when he does and has great stories. He's a bro of the highest order and I'm so glad cool things are happening for him.
