Niners Fan in CT
Is this the new hivemind, that Seth Rollins sucks now? I missed that memo, apparently. I don't know about that, there's a couple people out there who think he's overrated or whatever but I completely disagree. He's one of the best five workers on the entire roster. Cena is a great wrestler but he was horrendous in a couple of those matches with Rollins and Seth carried the load. The pace and execution.. it was like watching a figure skater kill it at the Olympics. Maybe some people hate his brand of offense but nobody does it better. He's a machine.
Brian Fowler
TBS has always been 19 here, for whatever reason.
S.K.o.S.
I looked through the last few pages and didn't see this linked. NYT article on wrestlers moving into acting, focusing on Cena in Sisters. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/27/movies/pro-wrestlers-put-a-headlock-on-hollywood.html?ref=movies&_r=1 Money quote from Tina Fey: “Wrestling was always campy, but I definitely think that Dwayne Johnson broke out of that, and no one really thinks of him as just a wrestler anymore. John is on the same path if he wants to be.” Although Cena says in the next paragraph that he'd never want to leave wrestling.

Curt McGirt
EDIT: Well I tried to help Ryan out but Dailymotion is being insufferable so Now something horribly depressing yet awesome that I thought of watching Smackdown en Espanol with the sound off just now... you know what the best tag team that never was is? Eddy and Owen THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES. Probably the best rudo team ever. EDIT II: If that thought makes you sad, watch Ryan's video. Japan, never stop being awesome. mattdangerously
Thanks. I used to just be sad that the Eddie/Jericho team didn't last longer. Now I'm sad Eddie and Owen never teamed up, too.
odessasteps
You could prob add Wings (owen and benoit) from 1990 wcw.
mattdangerously
Or Owen and Flyin' Brian from the same year. Or hell, Bret and Owen.
cool arrow
You could prob add Wings (owen and benoit) from 1990 wcw. Wings was Owen and Pillman. (Who despite teaming in WCW a total of four times were ranked #2 in the PWI Weekly tag team rankings. Seriously!) Oh, and it was '91. Benoit didn't come in to WCW until '92. Casey
Is there a reason you/someone wants to find information on a now adult fan that attended multiple PPVs and was on-screen in the 90s? Without context this is pretty odd.
GuerrillaMonsoon
If there's a better way than saving ones sanity from holiday boredom than either singing Bob Dylan songs in the key of Dusty or Dusty promos in the key of Dylan I don't know it. Without context this is pretty odd. How did he, a teenager, afford multiple shows across multiple states? That's an interesting question. Only reason I care is because I remember seeing him on tv back in the day and it was always a "hey didn't I see that kid before" thing.

JRGoldman
That article was either written by a 6th grader or by someone with a 6th grade education. I knew I was in for it once the writer tried to imply that political correctness was ruining wrestling.

Yeah I remember seeing him on one of the WCW shows CLEARLY mugging/turning it up for the camera. Good seats all the time.
Patrick B.
If anything, I'm tired of the segment of wrestling fans who seem intent on "running off" anyone with a different viewpoint. In that regard, those fans have been very successful.

That's pretty much our whole culture at this point though.
Brian Fowler
It's insular geek culture. The audience's shift from rednecks to nerds is the real overarching story of modern pro wrestling.
odessasteps
I wonder how much that is due from core idea "simulated sport/guys beating each other up" to "art form/theatre/real life comic book"?
Patrick B.
Whatever the reason, I'm definitely less likely to talk to someone about wrestling than I used to be.
The Comedian
It's insular geek culture. The audience's shift from rednecks to nerds is the real overarching story of modern pro wrestling. To an extant this has happened to sports fandom in general. I know it's annoyed me over the years how hard it is to just shoot the shit about sports online. There's always some geek wanting you to quantify every opinion, like every bulletin board post on their sports blog of choice is a fucking thesis paper. Sports fandom is triviality; you don't have to back up your opinion with fact. Talking sports should be guys sitting around a bar talking about how the guy who just had a bad game sucks shit and should be traded or cut. I don't need some nerd coming in giving me an advanced stat projection of that player's career arc over the next five seasons. I didn't need fantasy sports turning sports into Dungeons & Dragons. I didn't need Madden getting so complicated that you have to have knowledge on par with an actual NFL coach to be any good at it. Nerds ruin everything man...
