๐ŸŽผ I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats, with scarves of red tied 'round their throats....

The Continental Classic ramped up last week as, let's see here... Darby Allin lost?ย  Wait, that can't be right.ย  And Daniel Garcia went 20 minutes with the Rainmaker and got a draw.ย  Huh... okay.ย

ย

๐ŸŽตย  To keep their little heads from falling in the snow... And I turned 'round and there you go...

We're also in preparation for Winter is Coming!ย ย  Mina Shirakawa is on the warpath for Mariah May.ย  And Kamille just pulled the "You can't fire me, I quit!" bit with Miss Mone.ย  So that will probably not go over too well with Mercy Two Belts.ย

ย

๐ŸŽนย And Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red, as strawberries in the summertime.

Here's what's on tap for tonight!

I, for one, can't wait to see Swerve break Caster's skull open like it's a Faberge Egg.

ย

(You could tell me Fleet Foxes are from Seattle, Sweden, New Zealand, or whatever's the most depressing part of Ireland, and they'd all be equally believable.)

Enjoy the week!

Shelton Benjamin vs Kyle Fletcher was a match I never knew I needed in my life until now. ATHLETIC NEO-HOSS BATTLE! LFG!

*ย AEW Continental Classic Gold League Match: Claudio Castagnoli (3 pts) vs. Brody King (3 pts)
*ย AEW Continental Classic Blue League Match: Shelton Benjamin (3 pts) vs. Kyle Fletcher (3 pts)
*ย Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal: Adam Cole, Kyle Oโ€™Reilly, Others TBD
* PAC vs. Jay White
* Swerve Strickland vs. Max Caster
* Anna Jay vs. Penelope Ford
* Weโ€™ll hear from Jamie Hayter

Claudio v Brody is a lowkey dream match, and I have little doubt it won't be 'hotter than Georgia Asphalt'. Benjamin v Fletcher is an interesting match. Pac v Jay White will no doubt be killing me softly. Swerve v Max Caster is a match I never knew I really wanted. Sky's the limit for Honky Tonk Max Caster. Jay v Penelope is more of a Rampage main event, but nice to see Jay get some A show time as she seems to be coming on strong lately - especially with the mic (tho mostly on the B/C shows). Will it be another shitty lights out for Jamie Hayter and more shitty er corny Julia Hart videos. And a Battle Royal to skim passed.ย Is there a less prestigious and shittier trophy gimmick than the Dynamite Diamond Ring? At the very least, it probably means less mic time for Cole, MJF, etc. Tho, surely MJF will offer another slightly embarrassing pre-tape to perpetuate this 'dogshit' story. A Collective Nightmare. I won't expect any generosity from the Fishers Indiana audience, but would be pleasantly surprised to have a crowd prepared to enjoy themselves. Anywho, pretty darn good solid line-up.

kinda felt like a breezy 2 hours

Swerve just demolishes Max

Hangman and Moxley on a collision course

We have TWO feuds with women now

Adam Cole is on the verge of facing MJF again

MJF is in an evil lair talking about Adam Cole ruining everything

Bandido gets a vignette for his impending return

Shelton loses, Claudio wins, I forget who won Jay/Pac

Well, they sure did a great job of creating intrigue regarding the outcome of the battle royal, didn't they?

Good show though. I loved the Bandido vignette.

Brody/Claudio didn't disappoint, although I wasn't a big fan of the finish. Claudio is a scumbag heel. Heels cheat. I get it.ย

I loved Jay White, Orange, and Hangman Page working together to take out the Death Riders while Christian looked on clutching his contract.ย

Not a lot AEW has been doing lately is working well, but the Kyle Fletcher push absolutely is. He can veer into Ospreay/Takeshita overkill at times, but when he is locked in, he is so, so good.

Itโ€™s early but we may need to consider the possibility that this AEW run is the best Shelton has ever been.

Claudio/Brody was so good. When you build a whole match around selling a limb, get away with the person who has to sell it powering through it, and end up finishing with something entirely unrelated and it WORKS?! Get outta here.ย

Iโ€™m sure that will make Mattโ€™s day tomorrow.ย

Also, I feel bad for Hayter. It looks like she has cystic acne. I was lucky enough to never deal with that, but I had friends that did and one of my friends teenage sons has it and went on Acutane for it. It sucks and itโ€™s miserable. And for her right now, it looks like a really bad flare up of it.

I noticed in the past that she had what looked like bad acne, but now it looks so much like what Iโ€™ve seen on other people with cystic acne.

Will Kyle Fletcher learn any lessons from getting his biggest reactions of the night from stalling?ย  I hope so.ย  He was doing some really good chickenshit heel stuff in between the Kyle Fletcher stuff tonight.

That was a good-ass Dynamite.ย  Pretty much everything except the battle royal worked for me, and even that was inoffensive and gave Uno and the Butcher some screen time.ย  Even the Jericho segment was good!

The Death Riders pissing enough people off that they finally get together to challenge them is a good development and something I've wanted them to do with pretty much every rampaging heel faction they've had.

MJF reads the board confirmed. #Jaundiced

It is funny that he used that line the first night that Adam Cole was a normal color.

Stupid thing I noticed: Mark Davis was wearing someone else's trunks with the logo taped over.

didnโ€™t this just happen a few months ago, with Swerve assembling the A(EW)vengers for Blood & Guts?

Btw, last night showed exactly why Darby canโ€™t be the one to beat Mox. He wasnโ€™t even there. He wasnโ€™t even mentioned.ย

But Hangman was there and hell is coming with him.

That audience sure loved Brody King. ย In a genuine way, he seems to be on the cusp of something far greater. ย  I hope this train of momentum keeps rolling right into 2025.

Didn't catch this last night as I was watching college hoops, but I popped for the thread title. Fleet Foxes are always a great listen, but this is coming from a guy that listens to a lot of jam band music and doesn't use substances other than IPAs.

Despite a few small flaws (this used to be the promotion of clean finishes, dammit!) I thought this was a friggin' fantastic installment - this crowd seemed more into the proceedings than last week's too, which is always a big plus in terms of atmosphere. And really, even my finish complaint is like... I get why they were done, I can't really argue with the logic behind em. I thought the ending was fantastic, too. I might be in the minority on this, but I think you can pivot back to a babyface Hangman without undermining him/his great heel run, as long as you don't change much about him or his motivations. Lazy example, but uber-babyface Steve Austin of '98-'99 really didn't change much from when he was doing the same thing as a heel in late '96, he just started getting cheered for it, and that was that. I think you could engineer similar here (and maybe even in a more compelling way, given the possible outcomes with involving the other Elite guys once they return, involving Swerve later, maybe involving Dark Order as a sub-angle, or a returning Trent Barretta... A million ways to go). Thumbs highly up.

Loved Swerve/Max turning into a glorified squash. It's always nice when a match accurately reflects the level of both participants. They're onto something with Max as a heel, though.

Kinda surprised to see OC back so soon, but he would be good filler for a multi-way title match.

Good crowd all night, and I loved them getting behind Shelton and Brody as full babyfaces. Only minor complaint is both CC matches ending with the heels cheating. I was ok with Fletcher doing it, but I don't think anything would've been hurt if Claudio went over clean.
