  1. The John Cena remake of The Invisible Man

  2. I still want a buddy cop movie with Cena and Rock with Austin as their surly Captain. Batista should be in it too. Someone needs to do Cannonball Run wrestling edition already too smh.

  3. Yes and that reason is because they know they can't possibly top the greatness that is Rat Race.

  4. So can I just say how much I love that AEW takes managerial pairings that look like their going to lead to all the same old heel turn tropes, then turn them into charming and logical babyface pairings instead? Menard/Garcia and now Stokely with Willow and Stat. I'd like to see Menard, Parker, and Garcia fill a "Best Friends" role where Menard and Parker are mostly lovable jobbers, but every once in a while they bring in their big gun who gives them a chance against higher ranked guys. They did this with Hangman in the Dark Order too and it works really well for the way AEW likes to book their weekly shows. You can also bring Ruby into the fold and she can finally win the Owen with the power of love and friendship.

  5. thoughts on my Dax: On his podcast towards the end of its short run he became pretty open about his wife having a miscarriage and how he was having panic attacks and that it put him in a space where he handled things poorly. Then his daughter had that heart disease or whatever it was. I give him all the room to be corny and overcompensate with loving his family. Mental health or recovering from loss or whatever there is, I’d be in either a similar or much worse space if I was in his shoes. Him, Trinity & the Usos (Rikishi not showing up at their wedding and a good family speech about loving his brother and new sister on Total Divas), Jake the Snake (his abuse), and Nigel (the sad attempts to come back) are on my list of people I have a huge soft spot for.

  6. HOLY SHIT Danielson gets to wrestle Blue Panther at Arena Mexico!

  7. No, no. There should be another tournament to determine Darby's partner, held simultaneously.

  9. Do the mods have a secret administrator function that will highlight certain posts next time a particular user, let's say Coach Tony, visits the board?

  10. No, I think they're saying Garcia is more in the Orange role where he's the star of the bunch with his friends (Menard and Parker) being the "loveable jobbers". Garcia wins championships, has major feuds, etc. while occasionally coming to the aid of his friends or teaming with them.

  15. Once TK figures out he can hold a tournament to determine who gets into a tournament it is fucking over, that's the gray goo that eats AEW.

  16. Mox/Dax (brawl), Edge/Garcia (technical), Bucks/Flight (flying), OC/Taven (weapons), Toni being Toni (comedy), is a really nice three ring circus of a card

  17. I loved the pod. Maybe he just wasn’t ready for doing it. He definitely can jump back to doing it at a high level when he retires from the ring or so in a better headspace. My main gripe with the show was the cohost could be very leading with his questioning. Lead to awkward stumbling moments and unnecessary tension. The Regal pod was phenomenal and also occasionally awkward for similar reasons. But Regal is very tough to talk with and you just need to let him go off on his ramble paths. We’ll likely never see that again, whereas I’m sure we’ll hear from Dax again. very jealous of @Infinit going to that live show and probably slamming back tequilas with FTR lol

  18. “Uptight urbanite Jason Segal moves to the backwoods to finally write his novel and discovers his neighbor is a Stone Cold Steve Austin type” could absolutely have been a comedy that I watched on Netflix or Prime in the past decade and forgot every moment of as soon as it was over.

  19. It's Valentine's Day! I hope today's not a massacre for you and your Valentine! Well, either way... here's something I'm sure the two of you will want to do together... A new episode of Dynamite! TONIGHT! Ah screw it, you want the reference? You got it!

  20. That was really good stuff other than the unnecessary Wardlow squash. I guess Toni has moved on to talkies now. Deonna’s response was great. Willow-Skye was fun, really nice Code Blue and who woulda thunk they would protect Skye Blue with a phantom pin and Stokely interference. Dax-Mox was a fine stiff brawl. The serious beat down on FTR after was unexpected. Garcia-Cope was excellent and the run-in/throw the match out was a shock since it’s so rarely used in AEW. Cope taking a conchairto, guess they’re not gonna have that at the PPV. Cope should be pissed at Darby for not saving him. Bucks-Top Flight was relatively grounded given their past matches. Yambag Yahtzee for a win, and then getting mega heel heat by laying hands on Schiavone! Bang Bang Scissor Gang was a waste of time but boy was Renee making me feel really funny tonight... Wasn’t sure what to expect from the main event, didn’t seem like the stakes had built to a Texas Death Match but they really went for it after a pretty straightforward start. Botched table spot had me thinking OC was hardway, but couldn’t really figure how that would’ve worked. Lots of thumbtacks in body parts. The Valentine heart boxes was a nice touch.

  22. I had a recent, albeit one-sided, contact with my all-too-alive father recently and I feel like it touched off a passel of other grindy mental health issues that have been dragging me down the last couple of weeks. I don't know what your relationship was like; maybe it's just impossible to get away from negative feelings about someone who mistreated you, or, worse yet, impossible to get away from the childhood desire to receive validation from that person, but, well...if your relationship with him was truly a lot like that song, you wouldn't be the first person I've known who grew up like that, and I doubt you'll be the last. And each and every one of them thought their lives would have been better if their father had been involved. Mine was involved. He was a massive piece of shit. I wish he'd left sooner. The two-parent fever dream only works when both parents actually give a fuck. I'm not here to compete in the Misery Olympics with you or anything, but the Bad you got may have been a somewhat more bearable Bad than the alternative. The people in our lives were probably, more like certainly, broken themselves, and there's no guarantee whatsoever they could have done better even if they tried. Maybe more of them would also be just worse of them, you know? Basically, I'm saying don't beat yourself up over the past. You - and they - had less control over it than you think.

  26. I'll be honest I wasn't sure if that was real or fake with the trying to bring Scurll bit either. I just figured it's bad enough she's married to him but I try to overlook that when she's on TV. But FWIW Queen Aminata did a thing with Renee on their channel where she talked about having a string of seizures and AEW couldn't clear for her 6 months. Which sounds awful especially when things seem to be going well before that happens. It sucks that he felt he had to stop the podcast but I thought it was really awesome for Dax to be so open to people he doesn't know about his struggles. Dude forever is one I have a soft spot for. I will say though that aside from a 30 second bit when on a live mic Dax isn't the best talker. So to compensate he goes to topics that he's really passionate about which is great. But he could stand to add other things to round it out.

  27. I’d like Sting and Darby to win and Vacate, leading to a massive 32 team tournament including representation from AAA, CMLL , TNA , DDT and NJPW. Winner defends against Darby and a partner of his choosing

  29. I don't mean this as a critique - I want this to be a study in adolescent dick measuring. I want to see two weird chatty introverted fortysomething dorks-cum-family-guys with compulsive obsessions about throwback wrestling to indulge in every hyperfocus their bodies and minds can muster. I don't even want the match to prioritize being good. I just want it to be the most extreme example of whateverthefuck this modern 'I-WATCH-TERRITORIES-ON YOUTUBE' PROWRES is so that we can all understand the niche better and see where we can cap the ceiling at.

  30. Bucks definitely broke the Sam Muchnick rule of keeping your hands off the staff. Stokely: "You own the color orange?" Taz: "Yes."

  32. Missed big swaths of this but saw what I wanted - Open was a lot of trading and not a lot of selling. Got the feeling you could set it to Benny Hill in 2x speed and it'd be pretty funny. It was nice and stiff and everything but not much of anything besides two guys pounding on each other. Edge vs. Garcia felt like more of a match, they cut a pace and worked limbs, Dax/Mox was like an extended version of the Kobashi/Sasaki chop battle. The post-match was nice, big FU to FTR and leave through the crowd like they don't care. The match next week should be a No DQ Submission match. - Callis saying "Our dad used to have a couple drinks and make us fight in the back yard" was hilariously on-point. This of course will face Ospreay big time (not like he wouldn't be regardless of his company). - Like written above, Edge/Danny was good! Edge even played heel a bit, plus he busted out an honest-to-god Scott Norton/Harley Race shoulderbreaker. Before I noticed Luchasaurus I saw Nick Wayne and thought a teenager had jumped the rail, haha. - Toni's tat had to be a temp, we'll see next time she's wearing the slippers. - The Cutler remark was a nice diss. - Willow/Blue was good but Willow can never Vader people enough for me. - Saw the semi-table break on the ramp and looked away only to look up again and see Orange looking like THAT. It reminded me of Foley writing in his book about blading and Robert Parker saying "it looks like a big 'ol pussy opened up there on your head". Obviously I paid attention from there on out and it was amusing. Liked Orange kissing the belt after all that... he better.

  33. I've never been a big Matt Taven fan. I hated his ROH world title run, and feel it should have gone to Marty Scurll. With that said, I'm starting to come around on Taven. While I don't think he should ever be a world champion again, he's fine in his current role. That was a fun TV main event and I'm glad Taven got to shine.

  39. Not to stroll too far off topic but after the stuff Strickland said at that presser, the guys on Post Wrestling were wondering if there would be a backlash from fans and I was practically yelling at my phone "Of course there won't be!" Of the UFC fans I know, far more lean towards that type of mindset and opinion. Some are more extreme than others but there's a lot of "Save the kids" types.

  40. Would’ve been even better if they’d made some sort of notice of injury on the way out. Can we all band together to WILL TKAEW to start giving a clear reason why the injured, or absent for whatever reason, characters were meant to engage with and care about, are suddenly not on television for weeks and months.

  42. This works in multiple ways because you also have the Everybody Hates Chris angle of John Cena doing a movie based on Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man. Now, THAT I would make a voyage to the theater to go see. Either way, the tagline is "You Can't See Me.".

  43. I spent the second half of last season as the videographer for the Augusta (GA) Greenjackets. Excited to get going for my second year. Highlights last year; Seeing Hurston Waldrep dominate in his only Low A start. He ended the year in AAA and is a big league camp invitee for the Braves. Meeting Braves organist Matt Kaminski. Fantastic human and exactly my kind of eccentric. Watching Ambioris Tavarez finish strong. He's under tremendous pressure as the Braves first international FA signing post ban, and he appears to finally be making strides. He's a puppy with big paws. All the tools are there. I'd love to see him put it all together. Mostly because I've got lots of signed stuff. Goofing around with Augie, the mascot. My 3 year old son is a huge Augie fan and he thinks Dad is the absolute coolest for being Augie's buddy. We do a thing where we dance on the dugout and throw t-shirts and my son looked at me like I invented cable television. It's comforting that I can one day remind him that at one point, he thought I was cool. Meeting Alex Anthopoulos. I so very rarely get starstruck, but he just exudes... confidence and knowledge. Bobbleheads. I love bobbleheads.

  44. Dax v Mox is a fine, fine addition. As opposed to the rotten previous engagements, here's hoping they put a modicum of effort into the Toni Storm short. There's so many possibilities and not a single one of them has yet to be applied. Very into Adam v Garcia and Flights v Bucks. Here's hoping Willow gets a strong, decisive win and the lights stay on. I'm not sure Matt Taven v Orange really needed a TEXAS DEATH stip, but there's no reason to doubt Orange. This will surely mobilize every Taven hating poster to make their feelings known. Joe, Swerve, Hanger, gimme some words to remember please!

  45. I love the behind the scenes thoughts for the title on the Discord. Though you are right about us wanting to watch Dynamite on Valentine's Day. We did the dinner on Saturday so aside from a card and chocolates we're just chilling today. I do think with Ruby walking out on Saraya that she finally does something with Angelo to indicate they're an item. The story got a tad messy but I really loved what they've been doing with them liking each other and Saraya trying everything to ruin it. If there's ever a day to pay it off today would be it.
