Casey
AEW games spoilers for later tonight? Spoiler Yukes is doing the console game (PS5, XSX - currently in development), the other ones are the booking sim (Elite GM) and presumably a mobile game called Casino: Double or Nothing. Not sure what it is, maybe something related to the trading cards. Edited November 10, 2020 by Casey

Casey
I liked them doing a play on Devolver Digital press conferences the console game looks like a current day No Mercy somehow and that’s pretty fucking cool. Anybody expecting an actual TEW style booking sim is probably disappointed.
matt925
No timetable on the console game or the general manager mobile game, although the mobile game looked pretty far along. Really excited for the console game. This was just very early rendered footage but like @Caseysaid it definitely had an n64 vibe.
TheVileOne
Not crazy about Yuke's being involved, but we'll see. Hideyuki Iwashita who directed No Mercy 64 is working on it. I don't think they mentioned in what capacity he is working on it though. I remember the TNA game had a lot of initial promise but turned out to be trash. Jiji
I am ready for more Pretty Peter Avalon. Top Flight looked very good even if their finish seems an odd choice for guys that look like they basically float through the air. So fast and crazy vert is right. Pretty technical too. Saw them at For The Culture and they were way more impressive in this one. Louie Valle is amazing too.

Just because 2K and THQ had them pumping out the same garbage year after year, don't expect the same with this. Also don't forget, Yukes has wanted to do something different than those shit WWE games for awhile now.
Casey
plus, Midway did the TNA game. I mean, that kind of speaks for itself.

eikerir
I enjoyed the ridiculousness of the whole presentation, if you’re not interested in video games I’d watch this just for the comedy alone. I like the graphic style they seem to be going with for the main game, slightly cartoony but has a bit of a Street Fighter 4/5 aesthetic which would make sense if Kenny is involved in the project. Casey
@Jijiposted a nice from-the-crowd shot of Omega/Jericho in-game and it really does look like updated No Mercy/VPW models. I would have rather them used realistic models instead of what we got, but use the same engine (supposedly) but I’m not going to complain about an AEW console video game. I’m curious as to how someone like Darby Allin will look, though. Probably similar to Shida’s model? Even TAKA in No Mercy didn’t look exactly how he should have, y’know?
Ultimo Necro
For Darby they’ll just update surfer sting from WCW vs NWO revenge. Job done!
NikoBaltimore
Switching gears to Dark while it wasn't as eventful as most episodes the standouts to me were Dreamgirl Ellie and Jennacide. I couldn't get a solid read on their wrestling due to them doing jobber duty but holy crapola look at their gear. It seems like they're big fans of Joshi with what they had on and Jennacide in particular had that Bull Nakano look going on.
EVA
The Acclaimed looked pretty sharp on Dark this week. For a thrown together team, they’re coming together nicely. The finish got a little janky, but it was a nice match. I like that they use that old Beverly Brothers leap frog spot. Top Flight, on the other hand...They clearly have a lot of upside, but their “MCMGs on crack” act is pretty rough right now. They could do 75% less in the ring and still look fantastic, without all the awkward, contrived bits.
For Great Justice
Thinking back, all my favorite wrestling games (the N64 AKI games, Wrestlefest) had “bulkier” player models, so I’m totally cool with this. I can’t put my finger on it by there’s something less “weight”y and fulfilling control-wise in games with realistically-portioned models

Speaking of female wrestlers with crazy looks or gear - I want Heidi Howitzer and The Insidious One to make an appearance. Honestly they should just hire Thunder Rosa to be a female talent liason or whatever and let her book some talent for AEW that she sees promise for while running Mission Pro.
EVA
I usually skip Chaos Project matches, but I watched this week because I wanted to check out D-Von’s sons (they seem fine), and I actually kinda like how all of their double team moves are about Luther using Serpentico as a (sometimes reluctant) weapon. That seems like a fun undercard tag gimmick.
TheVileOne
My issue with the announcement is that they seemed cagey on saying what capacity Iwashita is working on it. He might just be consulting on it. Doesn't sound like he's producing or directing it.
Infinit
One thing I love about AEW and Mox's reign specifically, is when champions win on PPV, its decisive. When Mox defends the title successfully in a PPV main event, they don't have to water down the outcome because they don't need to have a PPV main event the next month. You will never have the "Orton loses at Summerslam but gets a rematch, Orton loses at Clash of Champions but gets a rematch" bs in AEW and it is so refreshing. 6
Technico Support
To latch on to your point, AEW is just pretty damn well-booked in general. I know there are issues here and there -- some angles just disappear, early missteps with Brandi as a heel, Cody's entire presentation -- but they get the big stuff right. In the run-up to the PPV, people were speculating how the I Quit match could have a screwy finish or how the Bucks could get out of the stip. Instead, we got two clean wins. It's refreshing to see a company just let guys lose matches instead of worrying about every single wrestler needing to stay over or some such nonsense.
Jiji
And as we've discussed before, losing clean like Page did can lead to some fascinating long-term stories and character development more than winning right away ever could. There is of course the opposite effect, so you need to know when to pull the trigger. AJPW and then NJPW really set the bar with that kind of storytelling. The territory system rarely allowed it. Heels were disposable.
Godfrey
Good ep of Dark with a lot of new faces. Devon's kids looked alright, very early in their careers clearly. Top Flight are indeed young and promising with a trash finisher, with the height that one guy got on his leapfrog I thought it was going to be along the lines of a standing dropkick Doomsday Device and instead it was an overly complicated transition move. Dreamgirl Ellie and Jennacide looked good against Diamante and Ivelisse too, I love how much everyone was into their gear. As much as Ivelisse remains stagnant, I feel like Diamante is getting better, her strikes and strength have been improving lately, and the team as a whole is gelling well. Not sure what to do with tag team specialists in a division without tag rankings but at least they have characters to get over.
