It's a year right in the middle of (IMO) 2 of TNA's peak years, coming down from the high of 2012 and before the next high of 2016. There were some off the wall things like being the year they did Bound for Glory taped from Japan but it did have some highlights, I personally enjoyed the Hardys vs Dudleys vs Wolves series. I'm not sure which year I'd say is TNA's best. I know a lot of people pick 2005. My personal favorites are 2012, 2016, 2018, and maybe 2009. As for Mr. Anderson/Kennedy, I thought he was initially terrible in WWE but started improving towards the end, then really found himself in TNA 2010-2011 which I'd say was his best run by far. Short peak but for that brief time he got super over as a babyface before inevitably turning again. 1

Cobra Commander Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 if they had flipped Bret and Neidhart in 89, I don't think the team of Duggan, Neidhart, Garvin and Hercules would have been especially good, but at least the Warrior, Bret, Rockers team would have been a historical oddity obviously they tipped their hand with Bret doing 19 minutes and Neidhart going 3 minutes on that night Also... man that Piper/Snuka/Bushwhackers team is something..

No way in hell this card didn't lose money. 1

bobholly138 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Thought I posted this back over a week ago Nov 2nd Bayou Indie Wrestling Brookhaven MS Oh man finally a show where I know I will be home by midnight. Meant to sleep in. Woke up at 6am.... Now days before this myself and one of the BTS guys had words. Been building for 2 years. Lots got tired of who I will just call Dumbass, getting in free getting his dad in ffree then doing no work. I pay 5 for a ticket and 5 for my father's ticket. Then show up hours early sling chairs. Set up the locker room and then put all the chairs up after the show. So let Dumbass know how I felt. Get to venue at 2pm. Ring is there but the rodeo area out back is packed so instead of parking in the back and hauling my stuff a short distance,we gotta park up in the front and walk a bit. Cool it's the cheat day on my diet so more walking means more calories burnt off. Walk in see they got the corner posts up. Set up my table and get started on chairs. Put out 350 inn the main room and then put 12 in the locker room. Time to set up tables. Put out 15 tables with 2 chairs at each. By now all the wrestlers are sshowing up. It is a inside joke that Vladimir Koloff owes me a can of Coke. I was over talking to him and Lucy Blade about the show the night before,Rey Fury walks over "Hey gonna go get my kids lunch yall want anything?" Pull out my wallet hand Rey a $5 "Yea if you hit Mcdonalds or Burger king LARGE frozen Coke" He looks at me "Ya fucking with me right?" Since I'm standing there talking to Koloff. Rey heads out to get food. More people show up. Since all the stuff is set up time to go take a smoke break and lean on the ring truck, which is covered with DARE stickers. Get back inside Rey is back with my frozen Coke. Now time to just chill. Most of the talk was various folks asking what was the final straw with Dumbass. So I showed them the screen shots. No one expects him to show up. 6pm Dad shows up,he watches my table as I film. And by now I have already made decent money. Seems most of the indie wrestlers in my area collection wrestling figures. So that case of AEW figures I bought at Dirt CHeap for 2 bucks a figure sold well. About to sit down and rest some before doors open and a buddy ccomes in "Heey Dumbass just showed up. I think he is scared he got his dad and MOM with him." Now Dumbasses dad will come to shows often the mom never does. I had let everyone know I would be civil. Dumbass walks in goes sets up his tripod on the stage and stayes there most of the show,In my message to him telling him to kick rocks I stated many times how he does nothing at shows. Doors open and it is aa flood of people. Those 350 chairs filled up. First match was Rey Fury vs Koloff. Crowd was behind Rey. Even the match we all thought would suck was fun. A three way between 3 BIW vets. Best part is APoc Adam Asher was down in the corner. Nightmare Jeremiah rushes over there and starts doing pushups on top Apoc. The other guy in the match "Stanky" Frankie Thomas comes over and Nightmare yells "DONT MESS WITH ME IM DOING PUSHUPS". Later on Nightmare ended in the corner Apoc attempted to do push ups on top of Nightmare. I had seen Apoc trying to not laugh, learned as he was doing them Nightmare was telling him "your push ups SUCK" Intermission hits,I am at the table and shocked I see Dumbass leave the stage and heading my way I think. Was ready to remind him what I had said in the 22 paragraphs I sent. Nope he stops at Koloff's table to make sure Koloff knew he had filmed his match,Guessing Dumbass doesn't realize Koloff brings a trainee with him every show to film his match. The main event was BIW Southern Heavyweight champion Bam Bam Malone,TX based guy, vs former MLW World Champion Alex Kane. Talked to Kane a bit before the show, learned his MLW contract is up soon. Nice dude asked how many locally would know him. "Dude when you came in the ring crew askeed Who is the muscled up Kevin Hart look alike. So I doubt more than 8 people will know ya" Damn good match Bam Bam wins to send the crowd home happy. Now anyone that worked an indie show knows after the show is when help is needed. I had mentioned this to Dumbass, cause normally he will stand around watching everyone work after the show. Figured he got the message. Nope main event ends,he packs his stuff and hauls ass out the back door with his parents. So hour later chairs are put up,tables are put up and the ring is being loaded. Said my good byes and headed home. Good show. Filmed every match and made a decent profit. 10

Curt McGirt Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 (edited) There are a couple substitutions that could be made. Abdullah could maybe go in Magi. Flair could MAYBE take over Thesz. But I wouldn't do that. And somehow Vader, Takayama (who I originally had in Tenryu's place), or somebody like... fuck... Mocho Cota didn't make the 5 Faves list. But que sera, sera. Hell, I didn't even put in Kawada. Edited November 12, 2024 by Curt McGirt 2
