Cobra Commander Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 (edited) watching Macho/Flair from WM8 as part of the Savage mix tape and Flair really did figure out a spot for do his "I totally didn't blade" spot because he saw blood in Piper/Bret (In other words, he took a bump into the barricade and pretty blatantly gigged himself) also, that ringside celebratory pyro... maybe a little too close to the ring Edited November 15, 2024 by Cobra Commander 1

Cobra Commander Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Watching the Duggan/Piper/Savage vs Flair/Jake/Undertaker match in the Savage mix-tape and thinking that Taker (billed at 6'10") doesn't seem to tower over Jim Duggan (billed at 6'3"). Same sort of thing exists with Taker and Jake (billed at 6'6"). Maybe Undertaker just doesn't have good posture. Meanwhile, fans chanting USA as the Undertaker (a dead man billed from the USA) beats down Roddy Piper (a Canadian billed from Scotland) because they were chanting it for Duggan earlier. 2 1
Shartnado Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Shit. My weak ass started watching the Vince documentary against my better judgement due to some drinks, but Vince sucks and will always suck, but I wanted to talk muscles and at the risk of sounding conceited as shit, the '93 steroid tested Lex Luger (height adjusted 6'3" to 5'6" which is obviously huge) doesn't look insanely much bigger than me at my biggest, much like Stallone in Rambo III (which is two completely different things, but whatever). This is a really good documentary, even if you take that bastard Vince out of it! 2
Cobra Commander Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 the way faces are booked these days, if some face did the "Sting hands a bat to someone and turns his back" thing then he would immediately get popped with the bat for being stupid meanwhile I suspect that Randy Savage would have been an amazing ringer if he ever played any West Tennessee softball during his time working in Memphis

Cobra Commander Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 i'm sure someone has already used "Brandy Savage" as their roller derby name but that name is out there for any aspiring womens wrestlers who want to aim way too high and risk legal scrutiny over a nickname 3

odessasteps Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Like many wrestling names, Randy Savage is also a great porn name. 2 2

Wouldn't that be the same track I referred to as "King of Kings"? I've heard people say (OK, a person say) that it's the greatest theme ever, but I don't agree.

Motherfucker locked Liz in the house during road trips with exactly the number of TV dinners she’d need to survive and we all just giggle at Prichard’s Hungry Man “jokes.” I mean fuck, we all love Macho, but let’s call it what it is. Even if Randy wasn't a redneck for a few reasons, he was a very rednecky boyfriend/husband on-screen. Even before he started looking even more like Hank Jr.

Here's the part where I tell you there's an annual co-ed naked volleyball tournament each year in Wisconsin and it draws in people from around the country and some of them are actual professional players. No I haven't and will never play in it, but I have friends that do it every year and yeah, they're kinda weirdos. 2

Get sent home and called back to the school. "hey all my other shirts are dirty about to do laundry see yall tomorrow". No way was I gonna come home and go back to school. 4

Cobra Commander Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 one other thing about Flair/Savage from WM8, everybody will mention Shane as one of the agents trying to keep Elizabeth from ringside, but unless i'm confused, did they send Dave Hebner out as an agent for a match that Earl was refereeing?

odessasteps Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Even though I was there, I have zero memory of watching it live.
Brandon Bones Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 That Steamboat/Macho match was another banger. I’m guessing it was shortly after WM3. However, that crowd was totally split as Savage had won over a large portion of them as far as I could hear. Loud “Macho” chants throughout. Might have been the moment where the face turn was born.
