I really enjoyed the show; thought the main event was great (although as my esteemed colleague pointed out, it could have been a little shorter,) loved how everything seemed like a struggle.

Zack Gibson is such a knob. Wonderful stuff. Shame I have a deep seated hatred of moustaches, otherwise I'd be quite into Seven and Bate.

Is Toni Storm really the best female face in Britain? Jeez, she needs to work on some of her expressions.

Speaking of which, Eddie Dennis needs to lay off the gurners, too. Fun garbage match with a MAXIMUM FATNESS finish.

The Balor match was what it was. The crowd were hot for it, and that's really all that mattered for the second match on the card.

God damn that tag match was great. It's a good thing they subbed Finn in, cause no way Discount Finn and Bargain Rate Glacier were gonna follow that.

Women's match was great. Main was really long, too long, but at times it was fantastic. Hoss brawl was a hoss brawl.

Pete Dunne vs WALTER should be all kinds of fucking awesome at the next UK Takeover.

I hope once Triple H had four or five of these things up and running, they treat the NXT championship like the old NWA title, and each brand has its own top title but once or twice a year the NXT champ comes to town.

This is going to be the greatest thing I read on this board all day

Great show and the venue looks great on TV, it's a refreshing change to have wrestling in a distinctive building instead of the identikit arenas that WWE plays in nowadays.

NXT UK Dad doesn't need to talk he just uses facial expressions to convene his message like southern dads do.

Johnny Saint should be the Jack Tunney of NXT UK. Just have him hand his judgments from on high via taped video segments.

Not even done with the first match but...

I’m pretty sure a nuclear weapon would only get 2 on Trent Seven.  Dude knows how to set up a painted into a corner no hope spot and still survive.

Dave Mastiff has easily the best cannonball/butt splash to the corner in the business.  Most guys aren't really trying to hit you.  Hell most of the time it seems like it hurt them move than the person in the corner.  Dave starts jumping from the middle of the ring and launches into you like a missile.

I loved the ode to the Bulldogs, and Nigel mentioning them by name during MM's entrance.

I'm going to finish watching the show today. I left off after Balor/Devlin. I started watching rather late in the night.

I love English crowds. Most of the time I'm not sure what they're chanting, but they're having ball and it looks like it would be fun to be part of. Maybe @TheNatural can answer this for me. What was with the crowd holding up a shoe? It led to a great Nigel quip about being surprised most of these people have shoes.

I don't quite know the origin, but the song is "Shoes off, if you hate Gibson" to tune of Go West.

Man do I not want to be around a lot of British Wrestling fans taking their shoes off.

I think I had the better line here, but I guess NIgel couldn't quite go there.

Of course, I love how over Marty Scurll is in a company he doesn't work for. Pre-Marty BC, it was "too sweet, too sweet". Now, it will always be "too sweet, woop woop, too sweet".

Yes this was an awesome show.  I fell way behind on NXT UK as I have with most things but the promo sold me on giving this a watch and it did not disappoint. I too love the Empress Ballroom,  fantastic venue.

WALTER vs. Pete Dunne is going to be insane.

This is the best SubBrand of WWE right now, one of the best things about NXT UK is that there is no factory WWE talent on this show atleast not till they start bringing guys up from the Performance Center. I think this is overall my favorite TakeOver. Dunne vs Coffey was insane as was Storm vs Ripley and BSS vs MM.  After seeing this show, I want to start watching the weekly tv. The fact that I'm least familiar with the British guys and I'm the most enthralled with this brand says alot.

This is inaccurate or Vince would have kiboshed the "ONE FALL!" chant like he has on every other brand.

I dug this show, but for me it wasn't up to the excellence of most of the NXT US TakeOvers. The tag opener was great, a modern style sprint overkill. I am sorry, but a gimmick brawl without color, headshots or crazy plunder is hard pressed to be anything but a pale imitation of classic unsafe brawls of yore. I really would like to see Coffey v. Cena, or even better: Coffey & Buddy Murphy as a team. Gallus on the main roster could easily be booked to dominate, to be truthful. I too see nothing but greatness for Rhea Ripley (and am not a big fan of Toni Storm). I second West Newbury Bad Boy's genius idea of RR v. Asuka at the next available WrestleMania. WALTER looked great - he has a face made for overhead lighting and scared the faint of heart. I am already a mark for Barthel & Aichner so a Euro heel faction with WALTER is truly a gift from Odin.

I liked the show.  The opening tag was fantastic.  While I appreciate Finn being treated like a superstar, the match with Devlin didn't really do too much for me.  I enjoyed Eddie Dennis v. Dave Mastiff, but "Eddie Dennis" seems like the least likely name for this particular dude.  At least get a nickname, y'know?  Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm had a decent match, but seemed like a foregone conclusion.  Was this Toni's reward for winning the Mae Young?  The main event was good but went on for way too long.  No idea what they were doing on those two botched top rope moves.  I did like the improvised ending with the triangle / finger break stuff.

As for Walter, he certainly looks imposing, and I can't complain about the theme music.  I'll be sure to check out more of his stuff, and probably check into NXT UK again at their next Takeover.
