madsplash Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I don't know man, in "Parents Just Don't Understand" he stole a car and picked up a 12 year old girl. 1
Kuetsar Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Before I saw the trailer, I thought he would be playing a Junior Seau type player, but he's the doctor? Really?!
Jiji Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I haven't read the book, but after watching the PBS documentary on League of Denial, Dr. Bennet Omalu's story should translate pretty well to a movie. It's weird, I used to love the Fresh Prince tv show and early DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince albums as a kid but there's just something about post Jazzy Jeff Will Smith that I've always loathed. Maybe it stems from me not being allowed to see the South Park movie as a kid even though all my friends did and having to sit through Wild Wild West instead, but I really don't like Will Smith in any capacity post '93-ish. Seriously, fuck I Am Legend. However, the League of Denial material is so strong and an important topic, that I want this to do well and may check it out in theatres even though it looks like Will Smith is trying his damndest to get that Oscar.
Death From Above Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Smith was fine in Ali, even if it's the glossiest bunch of Hollywood gloss that ever glossed.
Jiji Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Aaaaand, Sony made changes to Concussion so as to not upset the NFL more than necessary. Least surprising news but it certainly is disappointing to read. Edit: holy shit, that's Bryan Cranston?
Death From Above Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I think a lot of people are misinterpreting it as "bowing to NFL whining" as opposed to "trying to avoid litigation" which is probably closer to the mark.
Dolfan in NYC Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 It's called All The Way. It's a movie version of the play that won Bryan Cranston the Tony. It's about LBJ (and Martin Luther King) pushing through the Civil Rights Act of '64 while in the middle of the election. Lots of incredible machinations going on, like him abandoning Walter Jenkins when he's arrested for having sex with men in public, basically abandoning Lady Bird during the fight to get CRA through, and promising Humphrey, who he despised, the Vice Presidency for support of CRA. Basically, Cranston has just claimed the 2017 Best Actor in a TV Movie Emmy -- halfway to the EGOT! Though if Trumbo is anywhere near as good as it looks, he could be 3/4 of the way there.
RIPPA Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Cranston already has 4 Emmys - he is already halfway there
AxB Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Will Smith is older now than James Avery was in the first episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Which just feels wrong, somehow.
RIPPA Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Sienna Miller ended up being cut out of Black Mass entirely
S.K.o.S. Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I'm sure it's already been posted but I saw that trailer with Vin Diesel, Elijah Wood and Michael Caine last night. Didn't know WAR was producing movies now. 4
Craig H Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Holy shit! Yes! That looks so awesome! It might as well have been named "Catharsis."
J.T. Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Why are you mother fuckers posting trailers about movies you know are going to make me cry? I hate you all.
RIPPA Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Ooof... Because there is no God Ronda Rousey to start in Road House reboot
J.T. Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Let us remember the awesomeness of Dalton vs. Jimmy before the reboot fucks things up. 1
Bustronaut Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I didn't know reboots retroactively got rid of prior versions 1
