JohnnyJ
Obviously JohnnyJ remembers that time the KISS Demon main evented Superbrawl. I actually had to look that one up. Really nice reference.
Big Fresh
I forgot. In Punk world, defending the championship and wrestling Taker are not considered main events. In Punk's world (and I agree with him), there is no such thing as "main events" plural. There is one main event. It's the match that goes on last.

odessasteps
So glad wrestling is the only live show in which people actually pay to be miserable fucks. That or there must be some strong ass glue that keeps people in their seats at the show. Wonder if these same people would go to a game featuring their shitty football team just to look like jack asses. If they are Jets fans the answer is yes tbh. Clearly you are not a Washington Redskins or Miami Hurricanes fan. Pro Sports is a pretty terrible comparison. It's a lot more like if Lost was filmed live in front of a studio audience that they couldn't control and everyone only wanted to see this guy: Faraday = DB Jack = Cena Sawyer = Ambrose The Smoke Monster = Brock All makes sense to me.

Go2Sleep
Fully Loaded 2000 begs to differ That's probably the closest that "multiple main events" has ever been to being true. Each match one established star from that era and one fresh new guy who they expected big things from in the future. If the title wasn't on the line in Rock/Benoit, they would've all been pretty equal. I generally agree with Punk on that point, though. Anytime your last match on a big event doesn't feel like the most important, it hurts the show tremendously. Notable examples being Rock/Hogan at WM 18 and Taker/Michaels at WM 25.

TheVileOne
WWE has been fortunate the past few years that promotable Mania main events were easy to come by, The Rocks return happened. Brocks return happened. Taker somehow stayed healthy. Bryan, and Punk, to a lesser extent, took off. This year they may be hitting some kind of wall. Years of difficulty creating big time main event players may have finally caught up with them. Undertaker hasn't looked healthy in years.

Years of difficulty creating big time main event players may have finally caught up with them. There was zero problem with finding a promotable main event this year. The most popular babyface on the roster was coming back from injury in time to enter the Rumble, and the champion was a monster heel who has been presented as unstoppable for a year. How fucking difficult is "The Ultimate David & Goliath Story" to promote?

MonteCarl
After Fastlane last night, and with where other things look to be going, we could be looking at a 12 match card this year, and with 4 hours (5 if you count the pre-show), there's no reason Mania can only be 8/9 matches like the last few Manias have been. Not every match needs to be 15+ minutes. Here's what the card is looking like, and this is with putting Ryback, Ziggler, Kane, & Big Show in the battle royal instead of in their own match. Reigns/Lesnar - WWE TitleCena/Rusev - US TitleHHH/StingTaker/WyattBarrett/Ambrose - IC Title gimmick match, either no DQ or cage matchUsos/Tyson&Cesaro (possibly adding other teams for multi-team match) - Tag TitlesGoldust/Stardust - Loser can never wear the paint againRollins/OrtonBryan/SheamusAndre Battle RoyalSome Divas Title MatchMiz/Mizdow I could see them putting the IC Title, Battle Royal, or Miz/Mizdow on the preshow, but honestly Miz/Mizdow is one of the most built up matches this year and it would be a shame to put it on the preshow. Same with Gold/Stardust as it will likely be Goldust's retirement match and that also deserves to be on the Main Show.
offspring515
I don't think Miz/Mizdow, the Dust Bros, Ambrose or Barret are doing anything but filling out the battle royal. I know it's a four hour plus show, but we all know half that time is elaborate entrances, video packages, recaps, commercials, Network shilling, Hall of fame recap, plus they'll probably trot Florida Georgia line or Flo Rida out for a song or two. There's probably less wrestling on Mania than most of the three hour ppv shows.
Burgundy LaRue
These are the definitive matches. Everything else is up in the air. Lesnar-Reigns: WHC Barrett-Ambrose: IC Rusev-Cena: US Cesaro & Kidd-Usos: Tag Team Nikki-Paige: Divas HHH-Sting Rollins-Orton Bryan-TBD
Skeeball Wizard
I really hope they add a couple teams to the tag title match, hell make it a ladder match. They need something that will stand out from the rest of the matches and i think those are probably the most likely guys to make that work. I assume we get the divas in some multiwoman cluster. I don't see the IC or tag belts in straight rematches making the show.
Dog
I'll be stunned if there's a tag title match on the main card.
Skeeball Wizard
BNB and Masters of the Brass Ring vs. Ambrose and Usos, all titles on the line. Won't happen and if it did it would go about 5 minutes but a guy can dream.
GOTNW
If Lesnar has to lose they need to go all out. Heyman turns, use a tranquillizer, the steel steps, a Frog Splash, the Overeem knee, a Kneebar, basically anything that was ever used to defeat Lesnar and more. Hit him with like 4 Spears, that should be enough for Lesnar to actually go down. When Lesnar's HCTP healthbar turns yellow and gives Reigns ~10 seconds to do something have him Mike Awesome Powerbomb Lesnar over the top rope, full on with Heyman setting the table up and lighting it on fire. Then have Reigns drag Lensar back into the ring and win via Superman Punch-Spear combo just to troll everyone.
Dewar
Lesnar picks up the stairs, Superman Punch into the stairs, into Lesnar's face. Those damned stairs have been Lesnar's kryptonite since he returned anyway, might as well be what finally kills him off.
Hamhock
No no... Running spear while holding the stairs; that'll do. It'll also likely cripple Reigns, but omelettes:eggs and all that.
Beech27
Lesnar's "broken rib" was booked so Reigns could re-injure it in a brawl going in to Mania, then exploit it during the match itself by hitting a couple spears, and winning. That's your finish. It kinda sucks, but there it is.
Ace
IC title match is now a ladder match. Theoretically defending against Ambrose, Truth, & Bryan. I'm guessing another heel gets added.
steve
Ziggler's in too probably after he pinned Barrett on RAW. Harper would be a good heel choice to round it out.

The Z
Are we even getting another Andre the Giant Memorial Bettle Royal? If not then what an absolute fucking waste that was. Yes, they announced it on Raw. Miz, Ryback and Curtis Axel are confirmed so far. It's still just a "we have nothing else for these guys to do" match.
