Big Fresh Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 And didn't Batista talk about it publicly too when he did an interview with a gay magazine?
cool arrow Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 FWIW I never understood any of that "Terry Garvin school" stuff until much later.
Greggulator Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Why would any company want to keep around dead weight that either ran their course or they see no future in? This happens in departments and companies everywhere. It will open up some more time and space for new people to get time. They gave Aksana a lot of time over the years and, as of a few months ago, she couldn't execute a knee drop without nearly blinding one of their most visible female personalities. She brings nothing to the table at all, aside from being easy on the eyes. 2
Web Conn Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 MVP has been pulled from the Slammiversary main due to a torn meniscus.
cwoy2j Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Um, Monsoon with "Pat Patterson go behind" wasn't exactly subtle, in retrospect. Also, during Over the Edge 98 when he was doing the ring intro for Brisco and talking about Brisco Bros Autobody, JR sarcastically said, "well we know who does the rear end work there..."
Patrick B. Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I think you're a really good guy. You're wrong, but I appreciate the sentiment. 1
Johnny Sorrow Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I think its more of a thing where even though everyone knows and he never tried hiding it, Pat just never publicly said he was gay.
Raziel Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 MVP has been pulled from the Slammiversary main due to a torn meniscus. Bwahahahahaha!
Niners Fan in CT Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 No issue. They can do a multi man ladder match now. 3
Dewar Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 That's the wrong guy getting pulled from the title match with an injury. They better hire Teddy Long for the night to turn it into a tag team match. 1
Ace Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 They guy who announced JTG early yesterday is saying Vicki Guerrero's on her way out for real this time.

Also, during Over the Edge 98 when he was doing the ring intro for Brisco and talking about Brisco Bros Autobody, JR sarcastically said, "well we know who does the rear end work there..." I've got an old Coliseum tape where Sunny and Sable start fighting on the outside of the ring so Patterson (who's reffing) goes out to break it up. JR makes a crack about all of the queens of the WWF being outside the ring.
ebbie Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 All this talk about Teddy Long's affection for tag matches makes me wonder has their been any good tag matches he has made? I mean ones that are still really good. A quick google searched, I don't know if he has. http://www.wwe.com/videos/playlists/teddy-long-best-tag-team-matches
Joe Fixit Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 The best "holla holla" tag match was actually made by Vickie. It went: Rhodes Bros vs Rollins/Reigns Rhodes Bros/Punk vs Shield Rhodes Bros/Punk/Usos/Rey vs Shield/Wyatts IIRC the whole thing ended up being an hour long.
Bourdain Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 They guy who announced JTG early yesterday is saying Vicki Guerrero's on her way out for real this time. booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I like Vicky anyone have a link to the video where Vicky is trying to cut a promo against Cena and the crowd is so rambunctious she can't get a word out leading to Cena cracking up
Go2Sleep Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Could Scott Norton, if built up correctly, have made a good WCW champion? I grew up with NJPW and he always impressed the hell out of me. Seeing him in play such a tiny role in WCW later on was weird to me. That said, I have no idea whether he was any good on the mic. But, even if that were the case, if you gave him a mouthpiece, could he have been a 'good' champion? I doubt it.There was only a small window between Vader and Goldberg who were both way better as monster aces, and he didn't compare favorably to Giant or Nash who filled most of that void either. Even though Norton was better in the ring, he wasn't as impressive physically and was completely overshadowed in the charisma department by those two. His WCW ceiling was probably something close to Meng. Actutally, that would've been a great feud to see who was the world's toughest midcarder.
Web Conn Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Savage and Norton had a sweet match on the second episode of Nitro 3

Katie, bar the fucking door.
twiztor Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Norton was always a guy that i thought he would do better than he did. this was before i knew he was a star in Japan. he always seemed like he should be just destroying people. he's built like a brick shithouse, has a legitimate rep as a toughman and arm wrestler (including being in Over the Top), and had the best powerbomb around. that being said, and with a more understanding of the biz, he didn't have much chance in WCW. didn't work a full time wcw schedule, didn't come from WWF, AND big overseas? not gonna happen in the Hogan regime.
PetrolCB Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 If Meng & Norton had been a tag team ... Katie, bar the fucking door. There's always WCW/NWO Revenge to live out these fantasies. 1
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 What if you add Mark Henry and call them Black, Flapjack, and Nosesnack? ? 1
cool arrow Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Nosesnack sounds like something that was quite popular in the WWF (and elsewhere) in the 80's. 4
