odessasteps Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Right now, at 22 F with 20+ winds, it is warmer than it will be at any point tomorrow. Yes, I know, small potatoes compared to the Mid West.
MonteCarl Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 We received an emergency notice on our phones last night telling everybody to turn down their thermostats to 65 degrees because of a possible gas shortage due to everybody cranking up the heat in this sub-antarctic weather
S.K.o.S. Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 It's supposed to be back above freezing by the end of the weekend. Very welcome, but seems impossible.
MonteCarl Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 It's supposedly going to be near 50 degrees some point next week. That is a change of almost 100 degrees within a week. Crazy

Dang. Never seen anything like that. We have some propane hooked up that burns something like a pilot light on certain places here, but that stuff is nuts.
Brian Fowler Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 We got down into -teens, with real feel around -25 Wednesday. 43 Sunday. It was something.
gatling Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Real feel here on Wednesday was -42, temperature hit 60 degrees Saturday, Sunday, and today.
odessasteps Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 The lines here yesterday and today at the car washes were epic. 2
Technico Support Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 That's what happens when it's 4 degrees and snowy/icy one week and 60 the next.
BrianS81177 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 This is how people who live in the western part of Washington state react to snow. Every single store is like this. You'd think it was the end times and we were never going to get sun again. And don't get me started on the drivers..... 2
Brian Fowler Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I'm so glad I don't have kids right now. Schools in basically the entire state had either 7 or 8 days cancelled out of the last two weeks because of either extreme cold, heavy snow, or freezing rain.
odessasteps Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 The rare delayed open + early dismissal for work today. (I was off) given parts of Hartford County already have 6+ inches today maybe over 9 tonight, what will they do for tomorrow (already 1 hr delay announced)?
Ramo2653 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 They still haven't plowed the side street I live on. Driving to work this morning and getting back home was an adventure.
Tabe Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 After having our normal, relatively mild, winter here in Spokane, we started getting snow a few days ago. We now have about 16-18" on the ground. We are forecast to have snow 10 more times in the next 2 weeks. Yay.
odessasteps Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Schools and Post already closed for tomorrow up here.
elizium Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 It's April 9th, if it would stop intermittently snowing, that would be super.
HumanChessgame Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Luckily I don't have allergies, but this coating every surface there is can fuck right off. 1

Dolfan in NYC Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 Be sure to spare a thought for Mozambique. They're about to get crushed by a second powerful cyclone within the last 6 weeks. We get hit by hurricanes all the time, but we have actual infrastructure... over there. Oh man, there's about to be a gigantic humanitarian crisis.
elizium Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 I'm an atheist, but the fact that it snowed today is a cruel jape by a vengeful god. 1
AxB Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 This weather is awesome! It's been too hot and sticky all day and night, and now there's a massive thunderstorm going on. Lightning every five seconds! It's 2 AM!

That shit hits the ground here, by that shit I mean the lightning not the rain which is welcome, the lightning, not so much.
