supremebve Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I think the Brian Knobbs interview was way better than the Daniel Bryan interview. Knobbs is like that guy who always keeps in touch with everyone, and even though he is a giant pain in the ass he is still friends with everyone he ever met....except Ken Shamrock. I thought the Knobbs one started out pretty boring and then picked up. The audio quality was horrible (which Austin explained), but the talk got really good. The Hennig-pooing-in-an-air-freshener bit was fantastically disgusting. I do find it funny that most "ribs" are just some guy shitting on something. One thing that interested me about the Knobbs ep was that Austin actually initiated a conversation about Hogan. It's been mentioned in this thread that the only guy he's even remotely badmouthed on the show is Johnny Ace in one off-hand comment. But you'll notice that every time someone brings up Hogan, Austin just gets kind of quiet and moves along to the next topic. Always thought that was a "if you don't have anything nice to say..." situation. So it was kind of interesting to hear him bring up Hulkamania. It was also funny that Knobbs was clearly gassed and breathing all heavy at the end of the interview. My favorite story was him talking about how they tried to make The Pit Stop as disgusting as possible.
Zero Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Listening to Jericho's new pod. It's a rough start, Jericho does not come off natural like Austin or somebody like Cornette does. Hoping this gets better when the Austin section starts.
Big Rob Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Yeah, I don't have the strongest of attention spans so I gave up on Jericho's pretty quickly.
Jrag Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 The best part of the DB interview was Steve yelling at him to pick his spots on that damn dropkick. 1
bink_winkleman Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Jericho's is almost verbatim the same interview that Austin gives on Colt's show. If you have to pick, listen to the Colt interview. Sure Y2J will get better over time.
odessasteps Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 If i was a guest on Austin's show, i dont know if i would bring up the Owen piledriver. And not put over how devastating it looked, like DB did.
george young Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Haven't heard Jericho's new podcast, but he was really good on the nerdist podcast.
MushroomJones Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Austin Unleashed with Taz is up early. Should be a fun one!
bink_winkleman Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If i was a guest on Austin's show, i dont know if i would bring up the Owen piledriver. And not put over how devastating it looked, like DB did. I thought he put it over all right. Though I agree it was nuts to bring up.
odessasteps Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I dont know what austin's relationship is like now with jeannie clark, but i would love to hear him discussing the feud with chris and toni adams vs austin and jeannie. One of my favorites lines ever "she was born on a shrimp boat." - jeannie, discussing toni
Trebor Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 The Bryan interview was really enjoyable. It's the first interview I've heard with him since he really took off. He is way too humble. Sheiky must have got to him. 1
Johnny Sorrow Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If i was a guest on Austin's show, i dont know if i would bring up the Owen piledriver. And not put over how devastating it looked, like DB did. I thought he put it over all right. Though I agree it was nuts to bring up. He totally put over how devastating it looked. He said that he got a stinger doing the dropkick he always does and at least Austin got injured by a move that looked as devastating as it was.
MORELOCK Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Austin Unleashed with Taz is up early. Should be a fun one! Austin's crack on Punk at the end of this had me rolling.
MADCAP Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Taz said he wasn't into wrestling when he was little, but he got into it because he needed a job. It would seem the lie detector determined...that was a LIE!!! 4
Craig H Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I'm so happy Tommy Dreamer saved that. With regards to DB, I don't think he'll ever achieve great success because he's almost too humble and isn't ever going to do what Punk did in grabbing the company by the balls.
supremebve Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Taz said he wasn't into wrestling when he was little, but he got into it because he needed a job. It would seem the lie detector determined...that was a LIE!!! Yeah, you don't even need to read the caption, that kid LLLLOOOOVVVEEEESSSSS wrestling. 1
Valcourt Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Why would Taz lie like that? Unless it's not true (the pen-pal ad).
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 9 year old Taz was probably a fan. He then probably got into other shit like cars and girls. Then when he was older thought it was a good way to make money. That or he didn't want Steve to think he is a mark. 1
Cobra Commander Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 If i was a guest on Austin's show, i dont know if i would bring up the Owen piledriver. He said that he got a stinger doing the dropkick he always does and at least Austin got injured by a move that looked as devastating as it was. "At least you hurt your neck from a tough move and not a dropkick" So was Daniel Bryan the first to bring up that piledriver on the show or has it come up a few times before?
bink_winkleman Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I can't remember exactly who, but it's come up a few times and he seems comfortable talking about it and having no more ill will and that kind of thing. And holy shit that Taz pic. That kid's finisher was definitely the Truffle Shuffle. 1
Tromatagon Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Taz said he wasn't into wrestling when he was little, but he got into it because he needed a job. It would seem the lie detector determined...that was a LIE!!! He's still little 2
Lee Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Beaten to the requiste "So he's never been a fan then?" gag. 2
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Taz interview was good. I wish they would have talked a lot more ECW though. They talked about developing the character and boom they were on to WWF. I think the sound quality was probably shitty so maybe they had to edit a lot out.
