AEW - MAY 2024

Might be some money in Mercedes cheating to win and turning heel, and Willow chasing her and finally beating her without having an asterisk next to the result of the match. Maybe Mercedes brings in some muscle after that in the form of Megan Bayne and/or Kamille. I still want Stokely to be behind all of this and align himself with her.

Forbidden Door could be your stopgap big show in between the blow-off where some Stardom & CMLL ladies team up with both sides. More women of the show (even if it’s ultimately 2-3 matches) and we’ll get Toni/Mina too.

I really think that this is the absolutely best booking decision they could make.  Especially if you turn Stokely at DoN.  Shit, as much as I wouldn't want it, turn Stat AND Stoke and have Stat be Mone's muscle.

EDIT: No, I take that back.  My heart can't handle Stat turning so soon after the implosion of the best Friends.  I'm sorry for putting that out there into the universe.

Mone/Kamille or Bayne v Stat/Willow sounds better.

Have Stat and Stokely turn on Willow to join Mone at DoN, then have Willow do the chase, perhaps ending in some sort of Cage Match.  Use Anna as Willow's new friend in violence.

Mone having a Claire Danes level cry face emergency after being upset in her big comeback match.  It certainly turns the old trope of big star jumping ship to somewhere else right on its head.  We have seen a fair amount of splashy debuts over the years to know it’s a thing.

OR is that sacrificing what Star power Sasha Banks has left?

Bryan Danielson matches I want to see before his full time career ends:

  • Zack Sabre Jr rematch.
  • Kazuchika Okada rubber match.
  • Kenny Omega rematch.
  • Will Ospreay rematch.
  • Shingo Takagi.
  • Hiroshi Tanahashi. If anyone can get anything out of a shot Tana, it's Bryan.
  • Darby Allin. First time dream match.
  • PAC. First time dream match.
  • Tetsuya Naito. First time dream match.
  • Jay White.
  • Samoa Joe.
  • Jeff Cobb.

A great list and I'd love to see any and all of them

Honestly, my main desire for a Bryan farewell tour match is more bordered on a morbid curiosity.  Jun Kasai.  I'd just love to see it, no rhyme or reason behind it.

Adding to that, most of these are improbably or impossible, but just a dream list

  • PCO
  • Josh Alexander
  • Speedball
  • Moose
  • Matt Cardona
  • Claudio
  • Trent Seven
  • Homicide
  • Low-Ki
  • give me another MJF match damnit
  • EFFY
  • Swerve
  • Hangman, I want them to give me a clear cut winner here, it's 1-1-1

Are there any wrestling bears still active cause we need Danielson vs bear

Effy should book Danielson vs Parrow for Big Gay Brunch, then.

I would love to see Danielson try to reign in Bailey's wacky formula.  Otherwise, if you want to see Danielson vs Bailey, just watch any Bailey match, kinda squint a bit, and pretend it's Danielson.

I admit I've only watched a few Speedball matches, but I've been impressed every single time.  I saw him live at the GCW New Years Eve show, but that was only the "Do or Die Rumble"

Has anyone thus far been able to reign it in?

Well if they hadn't killed an area in a while, why not Texas.

PAC actually already happened and in ROH. It was at Caged Rage in 2007

I cosign every one of the opponents listed in this thread as Danielson matches I wanted to see before he wraps up his full time career. Weird one that I want to see is him against Jarrett. I really hope Omega is back before Danielson wraps it up or at least if he's stick around in AEW, I'd love for that to be a match that they can get to down the line if Omega isn't ready by whenever Danielson is done full time. I was hoping for a match against Joe during Joe's run as champion even though that would have been one of those matches where the ending wasn't going to be in doubt.

I've seen a bunch of him in PWG and a few matches in GCW.  Nobody's reigned it in so far.  He's a really solid worker, but it's all "hand in fist and bow" poses before every single signature move, and really convoluted shit like his goofy-ass jumping kick combo.  He has 5 - 10 signature spots that he hits in every single match and it really stands out because everything he does is so unique to him, so every match ends up feeling the same.  He won PWG BOLA 2023, which was torture because I had to watch him wrestle similar matches FOUR TIMES on one night (he missed night one so he worked his qualifier on night two).

If anyone could make him cut his signature bullshit by 50 - 75% and teach him to do some different stuff, it would be Danielson.
