  1. @DEAN summed up Rampage so well; there's not much I can add. Oh yeah, I was digging The Bunny and Penelope Ford mixing the school girl and goth look. I'll save everyone the trouble, Settle down Nice Guy Cibereddico.

  2. Trent Seven is 41 (so he was born in 1981) and grew up in Birmingham, England. In 1992, WCW Worldwide aired on ITV Central on Saturday afternoons. There's every chance that he was watching The Natural Dustin Rhodes when he was 10, 11 years old on there, and that's what made him a wrestling fan.

  3. Sasha appeared in a Star Wars TV series and WWE didn't promote it at all. You had her literally fighting Boba Fett and doing wrestling moves on him, and WWE couldn't be bothered to promote it. Just goes to show the whole "grab the brass ring" thing is utter bullshit and the whole "we're Superstars and competing with Hollywood" is also bullshit.

  6. Round 1 of chemo went decently. Tired most of the time and very fatigued some days, but no nausea and still eating ok. Didn’t miss much time at the office, so that’s good. Driving really takes it out of me for some reason. Wife snd kids want to drive me around but I’m not inclined to let them. Round 2 is Tuesday. Halfway done.

  8. That Sammy/Mox match was a fucking war, I loved it. Sammy doesn’t get enough credit but he always delivers. He gets ton of hate from the crowd while still pulling all this crowd popping moves that would usually get anyone cheered. One of the few guys that actually gets this kind of reaction nowadays which always makes for a chaotic atmosphere when he’s wrestling. And Trent Seven made that last bulldog look so deadly and smooth at the same time.

  9. Loved that Guevera-Rhodes ladder match. Sammy and the Mox delivered here as they're both consistently prone To Do! I'm a Mox booster, but I would love for him to stop with the back rake fakes. And if we're being honest that BCC Stomp is really really really weak looking. Mostly everything else is great. Including this angling in on the Hangman! Baker-Skye Blue was fine. Sidenote: I have a great deal of love for Rebel. Hayter-Shida, let's do it! 8 Man from promo to finish was fun, fun, fun! Trent Seven is clearly a special performer. He needs a pair of valets for him to go full on sleaze the way of Playboy Buddy Rose, and make me very happy. Trent Seven v Trent Barretta will also make me very happy. Like this Dallas crowd! And this show!

  11. I have been working for the same company full time since I was 30, and part-time since I was 27. This year I was serendipitously told to apply for another company which was also recruiting. So I did, because, you just can't not take opportunities if they are handed to you. Once they contacted me, I was quickly offered a position, with pay close to what I was making at the moment. I had informed my employer that I will seek this other opportunity and if something comes of it, I'll let them know. Much to their credit, they quickly came up with a nice counter offer and after deliberating over the weekend, I decided to stay put. As soon as I was put in a position to choose between two companies and two deals, I immediately thought of Bret Hart in 1997. We know how that turned out, but would it have been any better if he did end up staying? I feel like I made the right choice, as I wasn't looking to leave if the opportunity didn't land on my lap like that. But at least now I know, I do actually have and can have opportunities elsewhere, as well.

  17. Its all a silly argument because no current wrestler by themselves are draws as far as I can tell. RAW has gotten some of its lowest ratings ever lately, even with Becky back. SmackDown holds steady regardless if Bray or Roman are announced as doing something, maybe a one week bump but back to normal the next week. AEW barely got a bump with Danielson and Punk (they helped with other things, like popping a PPV buy and merch, but minimal help with with week to week ratings). Wrestling promotions have shifted to selling themselves as a brand, especially WWE, and arguing who is/isn't a draw is virtually impossible to prove in 2022 since very few (if any) individual wrestlers are "needle movers" as they say. All that to say, I don't see an issue with Sasha wanting the same money as Becky and Charlotte. She's been at or very near the popularity level of Becky (not basing it off social media followers, just the ear/eye tests from watching shows) and I'd argue she is more popular with fans than Charlotte is. She knows her worth and if she can get it somewhere else, more power to her. And I'd say that about any wrestler, but it is.... interesting that Sasha seems to be the one that gets some fans to bring up the 'draw' argument when wrestlers like Braun probably got paid way too much to return to be a glorified midcarder.

  21. Did AEW Saturday Morning for the first time in a while at my house - I loved this show! That opener kicked all kinds of ass, and I've gotta agree with most everyone here: I think the Sammy/Tay redemption tour is in full swing. They've lost some of the awkwardness now that they've leaned in and started doing so many great little things outside of just the obnoxious PDA, and I loved them here (especially the nasty bloody kiss as @John From Cincinnati mentioned, and Tay's super-well done slap and follow-up w the camera/front row). LOVED the Hangman involvement - I'll never not enjoy a good pull-apart, and they brought the intensity to this one. The ladies' match was great and I'm reeeeeallllly looking forward to Hayter/Shida on Wednesday. Shida obviously already has the built-in story with Britt, so I'm curious to see if we're heading to a triple threat or something where things finally, officially fall apart between Hayter/Britt. Vance's promo was a little awkward, but he'll get there. 100% the right call to do this as a pretape with J.R. (and Ross is still great at these, credit where it's due). Delivery needs a little work but he hit the basic points you'd want out of a dickhead heel - college athlete, hand-picked by Brodie, he heeled on the kid - so overall, good stuff. Main event was just straight up fun, zero complaints there, and always great to watch Dustin in TX one more time. @Nice Guy Eddie I too, needed settling. I complain almost every day about how there are too many damn belts, and I walked away from that one going 'You know what we need, is Women's Tags...'

  22. He's got weird heat from the Tay stuff and people not loving the TNT run, and it plays so well. And after vicious performances like this and the Danielson 2/3 falls match, alot of the flack he catches looks foolish. Feels nuts that it was this year he and Cody had one of the better ladder matches in years (more singles ladder matches please). So much has changed. He's lowkey one of my favourite performers in AEW. Garcia's gonna learn so much from him. Also: Tonguey kissing with Mox's blood on Sammy's face? Y'all nasty.

  26. The Moxley/Sammy match may have been the most AEW match I can think of in my tenure watching AEW. First it had Mox. Then it had one of the pillars in Sammy. The reason behind this match is that even though the neverending JAS/BCC feud is over apparently it's not. Match starts off really good and heated and then during the picture-in-picture Sammy bites off Mox's earring? WTF??? And Mox bleeds from his friggin ear??? Why did we have an earlobe ripping occur during the picture-in-picture? If you're going to have an earlobe ripping on some random Rampage, then at least make sure it's during live so we can get the full commentary and crowd reaction and not during some Kia commercial ad or whatever. Then we get to see Sammy do Sammy crazy stuff and Mox lay shit in on him. While Daniel Garcia watches with hopefully an angle that goes somewhere. Before Hangman comes out and we have a really friggin' great brawl. That was sloppy and needless. It was brutal and compelling. It was a lot of things in one glorious mess and I'm glad I watched that. Also, when was the last time there was a really heated face versus face feud where neither guy turned? Really great spin on things. The women's match was pretty bleh. Sky Blue is really green. (I had no idea what other word to use there, sorry.) I love Britt. She's like a heel Ruby in that she realizes her strengths are in character work and she can lean into that to overcome her not being a natural athlete. But Sky Blue is maybe trying a bit too hard and doesn't have great timing. It's still an average match, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. I also laughed really hard at Shida's outfit. I just love the thought of Shida sitting around the back trying on business suits with a sparkly halter in case the networking seminar becomes an orgy, all while wearing face paint and having a kendo stick. They did a nice job building to the match with Jamie Hayter. Joe as the "King of Television" rules so hard. May his reign never end. That main event absolutely ruled. It was everything I wanted in a Best Friends/Dustin versus Kip/Seven/Butcher + Blade. Another point for anyone who wants to make the argument that OC is the best worker of 2022. There was so much great stuff in this match from the goofy (Orange and Danhausen doing a fakeout on Penelope and The Bunny) to the really great fun dives with Dustin getting the pinfall in Texas in an awesome touch. Well-paced throughout. I am thinking that Dustin is a huge Orange and Best Friends fan. How can anyone who loves wrestling in all its ridiculous glory not be a huge OC and Best Friends fan?

  28. Wasn't it consensus that Charlotte had gotten stale. Shouldn't it be a good thing she's had time to sit out and give people a break? Why is she getting dragged for what should be something people are okay with? This tired Horsewomen conversation needs some extra juice. I hope she's in season two of Andor.

  29. Harbaugh is an... Interesting person who tends to grate on people, especially after a few years. He's eccentric, absurdly enthusiastic, intense and competitive on a level that's barely sub-Michael Jordan, and just a general weirdo. Toss in that San Fran had a kinda dysfunctional leadership at the time, and it was a ticking time bomb. They ended up literally letting him leave without paying a penny of the $5 million buyout in his contract. In that way, he's a better fit for college, because the players cycle out every four-six years, his athletic director played for the same head coach as him in college and they can always just trade Bo stories forever, and now these just last two years have restored his status as a folk hero in Ann Arbor. I think he would be crazy to leave, but, well... Crazy isn't a bad descriptor.

I hoped my Dad would finally come but if not, I was going to go alone. Back from doing so together. I had my usual Desi Keema Saagh which is one of the hottest curries I've ever eaten and a strawberry goblet for dessert. Dad a Chicken Tikka Masala with a mint chocolate ice cream trufito as his dessert. Great time.

  35. LA Knight has megastar written all over him. Admittedly I wasn't too familiar with him prior to WWE as I hadn't seen much (if any) Eli Drake in Impact, but I'll be DAMNED if I am not impressed by him on a weekly basis. This week, good example. Howdy goes to come out on the ramp or whatever and instead of just standing there and staring, Knight drops a few more kicks to Wyatt down in the corner. I genuinely think he could be a main event player in the future for them. Why in gods name Vince wanted him as just a manager blows my mind.

  37. And Kiebler was ridiculously under-promoted on that one. The fact that they gave way more promotion to that EGG from Red Notice tells you that they COULD promote stuff if they choose to, but in those cases at least, they made the conscious decision NOT to do so.

THE MATCH EVERYONE (OR AT LEAST JUST ME) HAS BEEN WAITING FOR! Wardlow wants to challenge Joe to find out who is the one true king of HOSSWEIGHT!!! The Big Fat Party Animal accepts! Dana White promises us meaty men slapping FACE! Speaking of slapping how glorious would it be to see Hayter and Rhea Ripley slap meat! I mean a man can dream of interpromotional women's HOSSWEIGHT challenges! ONCE AGAIN TRENT SEVEN IS YOU RAMAPAGE MAIN EVENTER!!! Earlier tonight I got to see Devon Allman and Duane Betts play midnight rider before heading home to watch my DVR of Rampage! Speaking of Which that was the Son of The Son of a Plumber's Daddy nickname! Apparently Penelope and Bunny watched Jawbreaker at this weeks slumber party! Dustin wins! Move him up to HOSSWEIGHT Tony! (Much like Jeff Foxworthy and Rednecks HOSSWEIGHT is a state of mind as much as anything) Send him after JOE!

  41. About this Vince wants to return rumour... Is it paranoid to think that a belief/fear he would be returning is why there have been no major changes to most of the shows, apart from fired wrestlers returning to fill out the roster, and a reduction of some of the more outrageously stupid and juvenile angles? I put it down to the fact that the content machine was simply too big to slow down or maybe everyone being scared of Kevin Dunn, but perhaps no one ever really thought the monster had truly gone away, and they're all still trying to impress him like they've been conditioned to do. But I guess it's impossible to draw a line between them booking a still very Vincey show because they never thought he was truly retired, or because years of brainwashing have convinced them that this is the only way to make money in wrestling, and any major deviation will bring ruin.

  43. Io/Dakota vs. Liv/Tegan was good fun. Liv and Tegan made for a better team than expected, and the finish was well executed. The Bray/Knight was segment was alright. Hit Row vs. Viking Raiders vs. Legado del Fantasma was pretty fun though that failed dive by Top Dolla was scary as fuck, and I'm mostly happy he was fine enough that we can laugh about it. the sad thing he was looking perfectly fine before that spot. Ricochet/GUNTHER was fantastic, probably the best match Ricochet has had in WWE. He ate Gunther's offense so well and had some wonderful fired up comebacks, especially towards the finishing stretch. The final segment with Bloodline was solid, especially with Cena announcing himself as KO's partner for the final show of the year. 3 matches on a two hour show feels wrong, but at least they were all pretty fun with one being legit amazing.
