I'm re-watching Captain Marvel right now and this movie really got way too much hate. It's not nearly as bad as people want to make it out to be. Bad as The Dark World or Iron Man 3? Absolutely not. Good as Winter Soldier or Iron Man 1 or whatever else? Probably not. It's mid-tier at best, but it's certainly not BAD. My only complaint is that the CGI when she puts on the mohawk helmet thing is kinda wonky. Infinity War had the same problem with certain things (Banner in the Hulkbuster armor, chiefly among them). Brie Larson can be a little wooden at times, but she's not anywhere as bad as, say, Keanu Reeves (sorry Keanu fans). I've never done this before, but I think I'm going to do Infinity War/Endgame back to back next.

Yeah, and I think the piling on of "you must have done something wrong" is a little unfair. People who don't leave their house except to get groceries or people who went to go visit their mother once in six months end up getting it, as well. A lot of it is kind of bad luck plus behavior. These wrestlers are, at least if we can believe the companies now, tested more than the average workforce so hopefully the Covid police don't come down too hard and hopefully everyone is fine.

Honestly, I really don't understand why more wrestlers these days aren't watching stuff like French wrestling or European wrestling for ideas for spots, etc. Some of those pins and counters are way better than just some shitty roll-up we see thirty times a week on RAW.

To go one step further, I'll pass on seeing anyone extra in AEW right now. They have a big roster as is. Like, Jay White is the probably the crown jewel out there right now and he'd be an incredible hire, but how do you sign someone like that and not strap a jetpack to his back and shoot him into the World title picture? A World title held by a heel. I suppose having a Jay White is a nice problem to have and a problem TK wouldn't mind happening, but as a fan and viewer invested in current storylines, it all feels like shitty timing. I'd love to have Jay White, but I don't want to interupt ongoing storylines. As always, if this were an Io that were available, I'd say give her any amount of money she would want. Same goes for Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley, Rhea, Dakota, Storm, or Belair.

My personal philosophy is that baby faces people actually like are rarer than heels and so they have more value. AEW has Moxley and Page so they aren’t in a terrible face position but they’ve got a ton of heels already and Cody obviously has no issue working other baby faces.

Will Hobbs Or Powerhouse Hobbs if you run the AEW roster page constantly battling with the alphabet. Hobbs is a wrestling genius and no one noticed and should be given the goddamn keys to the goddamn kingdom. Get your 7 star matches out of here and give me the smartest wrestler in AEW. How smart is Hobbs? Let me give you several examples that you can find on your own. Example one: Ricky Starks vs Will Hobbs: watch this one for the finish where Hobbs gets up for the Rochambeau ala Ray Traylor taking the slingshot suplex for Tully Blanchard. Here’s a 300 pound guy taking a power finish from a much smaller guy with a secondary finish that would have worked fine. But not for Hobbs, his job is to get Ricky over and he gets up for the holy shit finish. Example 2: Hobbs vs Orange Cassidy. Will is still in ‘get these people over’ mode and how’s he do that with Cassidy? He takes one Orange punch and goes home for the night secure in the thought he just hammered the star over. Why? Cause that’s how you get people over! Example 3: Hobbs vs John Legacy (I think, whatever) Will’s time to get over and he doesn’t make the mistake of taking thinking he’s already over so he just cleanly dismantles his guy with some power offense, swatting the guy out of the air, forcing a tests of strength, three suplex variations in a row, clean decisive finish! That’s how you do it! You hit more than 2 moves in a row Brian Cage! Example 4: Hobbs and Starks vs Cody and Darby. An honest to god hot god damn tag where Darby barely escapes to tag out rather than the cold tags AEW guys do all the time where no one is there to even try to stop people. Hobbs works a rag doll bear hug! Hobbs is GREAT. Star in the making. Should be AEW champion after Hangman.

WWE lucks into good stories sometimes (Becky getting her nose broken, Kofimania) and at least they have the good sense to run with those sometimes. I think Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho teaming leading up to the Festival of Friendship was also a well done long term story. As for AEW, you're leaving out the Omega/Page run which includes a nice rivalry with the Bucks, who had their own redemption story in the meantime. I'd put the Best Friends/Santana and Ortiz feud to have been really good, and all the brawls between the Inner Circle and the Elite weren't just Cody. And it's not entirely fair to judge them on the same standard since it's a company in its first year of operation which happens to be in, let's say, interesting times. Yeah, the big angles involved the big stars, you cracked the code on that one, and I'll give you there have been some stop and start angles (or just stop) but I think you're underselling some of the undercard angles. Hell, Brandon Cutler and Peter Avalon had a pretty good thing going on Dark for months. If that's not your kind of wrestling I get it, at least they're trying even at that level.
