  1. I... I'm not sure. Was that awesome? I think it was? No. Yes. Oh fuck I don't know.

  2. This is an absurd take. I'm about as big of an MMA fan that exists. I've been watching religiously since UFC 43. I have every Pride show on DVD. I used to stay up all night to watch Dream and Sengoku shows. I also think the testing procedures for last night's show were laughable, and needlessly put the fighters, trainers, and announcers in danger. Jacare Souza tested positive after knowingly being in contact with someone who was likely infected. That means everyone he was around from whoever he travelled with, to whoever he trained with, to whoever he interacted with at the hotel, is possibly infected. The thing that makes this disease so dangerous isn't that it's deadly to 1%of the people who have it. The danger is that it seems to affect everyone differently. Some people have it and have no symptoms whatsoever. Some people get it and fucking die. The danger in having events like this are that the best possible outcome is nothing happens, the worst possible outcome is that they infect a bunch of people and someone dies unnecessarily. I love MMA, it's legitmately one of my favorite things, but if one person dies because they put on this show, I'll be in the front of the line saying how idiotic it is to have MMA shows. Having MMA fights is a great, fun thing, but it's not worth anyone's health and safety.

  3. My only confusion was why Corbin would be pissed that Asuka was grabbing her briefcase when they were both on ladder. That made no sense.

  6. I'm 100% fine with the health risks for people who decide they want to fight for a living, but they aren't the only people potentially affected by this. The people who work at a hotel full of people who normally wouldn't be there. All the people on all the planes it took for all of them to get there and back. All the people who work for the commissions, the cameramen, the people who have to run all the wires and shit for the broadcast. None of those people signed up to risk their health for our entertainment.

  7. Wait, Jeff Hardy vs Cesaro is a bad match? We’re complaining that they aren’t hot-shotting a match between Hardy and Sheamus two days after they had a face to face confrontation? Surely, there’s no way that feud could possibly be advanced since Jeff is facing *checks notes* Sheamus’s former tag partner.

  8. https://www.f4wonline.com/ufc-news/ufc-249-fighters-sign-covid-19-waiver-includes-non-disparagement-clause-310611 If running the event posed no threat to people's health and safety why were people forced to sign an agreement that says if they got infected they couldn't sue the company?

  10. I don't have any idea why he deleted it, but I tend to agree with him. 50 fucking years old, making everyone he comes in contact with look like a million bucks. The dude has kept himself relevant and been just as entertaining as ever before with every reinvention. This is a dude in the twilight of his career using every ounce of his learned skillset to build a brand new national company. That's a pretty goddamn special thing to do.

  11. I think if there was a crowd at Mania Otis would have became a mega face after Mandy made her run in. And I think and it’s a shame Woods is out but an extended feud between Wyatt with all 3 New Day members would be fun. Wyatts mind games and the New Days facial expressions we could probably be entertaining.

  12. Discovered that in SoR4 that if you can hit the arcade games with a taser, it’ll transport you into a fighting game. Fought a Blanka knock-off. And lost.

  13. When Apollo was put into the MITB match I thought "why not Jeff Hardy" match fits his daredevil style that they have been showing in the weekly Smackdown videos perfectly. then AJ came in and I was very happy, but then I look and see Otis is in this match. Fucking Otis?! Why? Jeff Hardy could have had Otis's spot and it would make 100X more sense. Black or AJ will win anyway but the bumps Jeff would have taken would have been epic

  14. I mean I wouldn't put it past WWE to have someone magically travel from Stamford to Orlando in one night and cash in the MITB, but I doubt it's going to happen.

  15. I honestly wasn't bothered by Booger last year. When he was in that cart randomly interjecting things, he was awful, but I don't think he'd have made my bottom five color guys last season.

  16. Maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't interview guys who just lost by KO. Even if they're your broadcast colleague.

  23. AWC didn't work up north all that often. I know for sure I saw him on a show or two in the Garage, but I don't think he was booked more than a handful of times. Blitzkrieg I think was only a one time deal. Not like CD, who was here for 5 or 6 shows a year for like 3 or 4 years. And we were just talking about Vic and Erin in another thread not that long ago. APW was the fucking shit. Garage shows were mad fun, but they ran all over the fucking place. So I could wait for them to come to San Jose every month or two, I didn't always have to barge to Hayward to see good wrestling.

  24. 1.18am UK time, but so far empty arena UFC is way better than empty arena wrestling.

  25. I don't get why Misawa was made the second Tiger Mask. It's so weird watching this guy work like he usually does in the driest manner possible coming after Sayama (and to be fair, some of the Sayama matches haven't aged well on rewatch). I don't get it. FWIW, Mariko is some type of hybrid yoga instructor/massage therapist in some tiny Japanese town now. She also looks younger than her wrestling days, which is scary. Meanwhile, Mayumi Ozaki (who is just a year older at 51) looks like Cloris Leachman if she was preparing to play a deranged serial killer.

  26. I was bored a week ago so I started looking up sports records that are likely to never be broken. Check this shit out: Don Shula has 328 career wins as a head coach (347 if you cound playoffs), and he retired at age 65. Bill Belichick is closes to breaking that record and he is at 273, but he's also 68 and the Patriots are starting a rebuild. Shula coached for 33 seasons and only TWICE did he finish below .500. 20 of those 33 seasons were double digit wins. Dude was definitely the best that ever walked a sideline.

  27. Here's the thing about drafting Trubisky over Deshaun Watson. Based on their college careers, you had to talk your way out of drafting Watson, but you'd have to talk your way into drafting Trubisky. Trubisky was pretty good in college, but Watson was superior in every single way. It's kind of like the 2011 draft where there were people all over the place talking about drafting a quarterback not named Cam Newton. The draft isn't an exact science, and there is no such thing as a sure thing, but Trubisky is not an NFL talent and it's been pretty apparent from day one. There has not been a second of Deshaun Watson's career where you watched him and thought, "I don't think he can play at this level." Every time I ever watched Trubisky that thought crossed my mind. Even his good games were filled with moments that made you shake your head at how incompetent he looked. The crazy thing about it is that they played in the same conference, and one was a Heisman finalist and a National Champion and the other was Trubisky. Deshaun Watson was more talented, more accomplished, and better known prospect, and the Bears still talked themselves into Trubisky. It may be racial, it may not be racial, but how often does a less talented, less accomplished, lesser known black quarterback been drafted over a more talented, more accomplished, more well known white quarterback.

  29. RIP cinematic matches 2020 - 2020 It looks like I'm in the minority but I thought the MITB was no bueno. Brother Love taking a shit? An indy quality Doink? A food fight for no reason? I did not like much of that at all. I loved both the boneyard match & the fun house match. But both of those had a story to them. This was just throwing a ton of shit at the wall with no purpose. With a 480p cameo from Stephanie that was clearly filmed on a zoom call and edited in. No sir I didn't like it. Maybe I need to take a break during the empty arena era. I'm just not connecting with anything they're doing. Yes I realize that's most likely a me problem and not a them problem. Sounds like most people here enjoyed it, so I don't wanna poo poo on your parade. It was some of the most cringey stuff I've seen in awhile. The Undertaker doc after it was amazing. Will definitely keep up with the rest of the series.
