  1. The costume choices are fascinating. Charlotte wearing a wooden crown because she's a pirate queen? Roman looking like the video game character no one picks. Becky looking like she's about to massively fuck up her audition for Vikings. ...And Cena's still Boston white-trash. lol

  4. I prefer all the episodes I am on. I hope I am not spilling any beans. But my brother’s biggest dream guest for his show was Roddy Piper. It was actually close to happening and they talked a few times on the phone before Hot Rod passed away. We were Piper fanatics as kids. Not sure if it will come up in the thing about New Jack, but Chris and I went to see ECW in Asbury Park in 1997 or so. Chris actually managed to get part of a table Jack dove through from the mezzanine. I have it beat though because the same show I was in the bathroom. I heard the unmistakable voice of Referee Bill Alfonso say “it’s clear, no one is here” and RVD walked to the stall next to me, pulled up the right leg of his singlet, turned to the side and peed. As far as the Benoit documentary goes — I really think it is award worthy. There were so many parts I never considered, like how Vikki and Nancy had a very close friendship. I also think the producers did a very good job at showing that Woman was really talented herself and more than just a murder victim. They are completely right, too. Just in ECW alone she had such a big impact. Everyone remembers the Shane NWA belt thing. But the first really big ECW angle I remember hearing about was when Tommy accidentally swung a cane and it clicked Sandman’s cigarette into his eye and he was blind. Nancy did such an awesome job and people at the time legit thought it was a shoot. She also got Dreamer over huge. Dreamer in those early days of ECW was just some chubby snooze. The whole angle with The Sandman got him over, especially when he had to take a bunch of cane shots and Woman tormented him the entire time. That really put Dreamer over as “extreme” and was the angle that made his career. I also don’t know how over Sandman would have been without her as a second. His act was so unique he could have been fine but she really added a lot to it. I also was such a huge mark for Doom. Their debut match at some random Clash is one of the best ring intros ever. If memory is correct, there is some sort of giant skull background and a lot of dry ice and “Her Strut” by ZZ Top and a lot of bad attitude all around. She was really really talented.

  11. The number one thing the NFLPA should have been fighting for is that they couldn't arbitrarily be blackballed for taking a political stand. Reid's about to be gone, mostly for standing up for himself and speaking out against things he finds unjust.

  19. Over/Under 1 total snap for the rest of Eric Reid's career. I'm going with under, and if they could subtract games from his career they would. With that said, the players association should make him the president, because he seems to be the only one paying attention.

  20. He is a huge fan. He had both Sami Zayn and X-PAC on separate episodes on his old show. The X-PAC episode also had Jon Hamm in a sumo wrestling suit. Chris and Colt Cabana are also really good friends and have done a lot of work together over the years. We actually went on vacation together last winter to go to a NXT Taping.

  22. Loved this one. Then again I always love hearing Jack talk, he just cracks me up. The pencil shaving story was hilarious and Mustafa doesn't seem to mind being on the panel despite that. The stories about Jack's childhood are new to me... fucked up. At the beginning I was like "they're probably not gonna get into any coke talk" and then bang whole rest of the episode after every incident haha. They also showed the whole Kulas thing so be forewarned. The stabbing actually doesn't look bad in comparison! Oh and one more thing that was hilarious, the promoter saying Jack was a great cook, they ask what dish did he used to make and dude just says "spaghetti" ?

  28. IWTV recently streamed a GCW show from Chicago that took place in May 2018. A deathmatch-heavy show, featuring Janela in one of his last death matches, a pretty insane encounter with modern lucha deathmatch wrestler Ciclope (NOT the WCW luchador, in case that was the source of the "wait, what" comment).

  33. Brother, all I do is work out here. I’m in the shit with filthy tourist, and stupid old people that decide they need to venture out, and buy groceries. I’m not posting STARDOM pictures, or working at home. I leave my job with gashes on my hand, and possibly mold in my lungs. I sure post here, but it’s never on a PC.

  35. Dolfan, I rally am digging these and you are doing a great job but I fear for your sanity in the near future, my friend. The 45 minute chunks is a fresh way to do it. I love reading people's show reviews (live or taped) where they talk about their reactions to the card and matches, and put it in context, rather than a play by play or smark flexing. Here's a WM story: (about 12 years ago) New owners at a club I used to asst. manage, and and upon being introduced to the new boss (younger than me) he's giving me the chest puffery, friendly but ???, a very -ummm- "guido"/paizan kinda thing. No preamble, he gets right up and says "I've been to the past 8 WrestleManias, I own every one on DVD and I get tickets for every RAW, SmackDown and PPV in the region. (...more markish braggadocio here...) How many WrestleManias have you been to?" younger RAF, thinking that this turkeyneck just cut a promo on me but I need this job and aware of all the folks watching us now :"Aaaw, man, I've just went to one WrestleMania... (...long pause, less is more...) --- THE FIRST ONE." We got on great after that. true story, RAF

  39. I don't know, man. Maybe you're mis-remembering? Like, maybe it was a different match from their feud or maybe a different casket match? Because this was not good. And... I myself have liked a lot of matches that were technically not good, but this was not good in a way where I can't really see anybody liking this match or even particularly remembering this match. Although, the ending managed to be both creative and utterly disappointing so I guess I could see that being memorable. The problem from my perspective was that the match was almost entirely worked without any hint of intensity or hatred. I'd figure that this kind of gimmick match (casket match, buried alive match, ambulance match, last man standing match...) should be the end-point of a long and violent feud. I'd figure that a casket match should be worked like this: You have to beat your opponent down so badly that they can't stop you from putting them in a casket and closing the lid. JR even explains it as such on commentary. This match just isn't worked that way. They go through the motions of setting up three big spots leading to the clever but dissatisfying conclusion, but almost everything seems perfunctory and mandatory. All that being said, this was not a terrible match or even a particularly bad match. It effectively tells a nice little story and the big spots, perfunctory as they may be, are still visually quite impressive because these are two genuinely massive men executing them. This match is, almost aggressively, just kind of OK. It starts out well, establishing that Show is afraid of the casket and giving us a couple of minutes of very good clubbering action. That got my hopes up. But, they transition into laboriously setting up the announce tables for Big Spot #1: Taker legdrops Show through an announce table. Honest question, not being snarky: Can anybody remember if these spots still felt exciting back in 2008? These days, it really feels like something they have to do once per PPV. Another case of looking at things through 2020 eyes, perhaps? There is some weird editing when Taker hits Show with the monitors during the set-up. Fairly or not (probably not), thinking about that took me out of the match. Then they get back in the ring to set up Big Spot #2: Show counters Old School into a suplex. There is no struggle over this at all. Taker works Show's arm a bit, sets up for old school, and starts to climb the ropes. Show punches him once in the gut, and Taker kind of doubles over and gets suplexed. Visually impressive, but emotionally unremarkable. Show rolls Taker into the casket but he's afraid to touch it and he wants the refs to close the lid... which they refuse to do. This is a nice bit, which allows both of the big men to catch their breath. Certainly, part of the problem with this match is that both men were completely gassed out by the five-minute mark. Show looks physically like he's in not-too-bad shape here, but he never really recovers and spends the last two thirds of the match visibly gasping for air. Show is generally a good actor in-ring, but his exhaustion keeps him from making angry or scared facial expressions and really limits his body language and that hurts this match a lot. Taker, on the other hand, seems to get his second wind while lying in the casket (which also makes perfect sense for his character), and he comes out all fired up and knocks Show around a bit. The opening fisticuffs and this short but nice segment have me convinced that these two could absolutely work an exciting straightforward brawl. Unfortunately, though, we have to go into the set-up for big spot #3: Show slowly, slowly, slowly climbs to the second rope in the corner and waits there until Taker comes over to choke slam him off the second rope. This sets up the second big casket spot, with Show fighting to keep Taker from closing the lid. Taker, obviously, is not scared to touch the casket. That's some nice, character-based story-telling. They end up back in the ring, where Show lethargically choke-slams Taker. Then he goes outside, knocks over the casket, and retreats up the entrance ramp. Taker does the sit up, then causes a wall of flame to erupt, blocking Show's escape. The druids come out, and leave an absolutely enormous casket on the stage. Taker and Show brawl around the ramp and the stage and tease a 4th big spot, but instead Show tips the big casket up on one end so it's standing vertically. That could have been an impressive "feat of strength" spot, and indeed it is commentated as such... but once again Show is too gassed out to use his face and body to sell that in any way at all. He whips Taker into the upright casket and tries to do so a second time... but Taker reverses the whip and sends Show into the casket, only this time the lid is open so Show runs inside the upright casket which falls over and the force of that shuts the lid. Match over. Ca you see what I mean when I call the ending creative but disappointing? I'm sure these two have a much better kaiju-style match in them. To be honest, it was a lot of fun to review a not-so-good match. (I mean this un-ironically): Thanks Niko!
