this may be a novel idea, but with 5 hours of mainline programming every week, why not have something that appeals to everyone? a combination of storylines that appeals to hardcore fans, casual fans, and Vince McMahon. this doesn't have to be an all or nothing ordeal.

Well I don't really think casual fans exist. But you were saying energy should be spent on non fans and that is pissing money away. The biggest problem with WWE is they take their customers for granted. Assuming they will stay no matter what even as the audience shrinks. Right now they should focus on stopping the bleeding.

I had a feeling Stamann would win this fight. Stamann had too much momentum and looked good against Duquesnoy, and Caraway just too much time out of the Octagon plus dealing with personal issues.

I'm thinking Nakamura's translated biographies do well and Tanahashi's gets the same treatment. He's brutally honest about both himself and his peers on top of being very bright, so I imagine his book is a great read for those reasons. He was also coming up at the tail end of the golden age, endured the horrible decline and was the main reason for their reemergence. Fascinating figure who, right now anyway, feels like he's not being as respected as much as he should be because of Okada's legendary run. I think it would be a minor tragedy if Tanahashi doesn't get that title challenge before Okada breaks his record. It's too perfect a melodrama for New Japan to miss.

Anti-beard and anti-fat

The list seems anti-beard to me. Which makes sense, if someone were a casual viewer and they didn't like beards they would likely be less inclined to like someone with one.

I can't get into Sami Callihan. He just seems like an indy-ish Jerry Saggscito. He has that "I'm doing a tough guy gimmick" thing. As opposed to the "I am a tough guy" thing.

They should make the 150 lb. vaguely supernatural (in a non-threatening way) really good looking guy more dominant than the big Bluto guy that is an actual monster? I guess that falls perfectly in line with how somebody who watches this shit more like a comic book would see things. I guess that would make Braun the big stupid Zod henchman guy from Superman II and Demon Balor Superman. It would also make regular Balor wussy ass depowered Clark Kent that got his clock cleaned in the diner. I don't even want to think about relating the creep part though because that would mean depowered Clark Kent went into the phone booth to get undressed for other very wrong reasons.

Reason #239 why I could never book: I would put Lesnar v. Reigns FIRST just to blow everyone's mind, and to get it out of the way, and to create anticipation for the rest of the card. THIS is how big this WrestleMania is: the opener is Roman/Brock, a legit main event! It would give Reigns a reason to turn bitter heel afterwards, and give Heyman & Lesnar a shooty reason for their eventual return, either as heels against the fans ("your complaining took away my main event money") or as faces against management ("you tried to embarrass us on my way out but we are back"). - RAF
