  1. Perhaps there is a key difference between a 300 lb man and a 90 lb woman being approached by strangers in the middle of the night that Bubba is overlooking.

  3. I'm gonna share my GIFs and vids regardless. Never claimed to be a good wrestler, especially now that I'm 42 and can barely walk from all the bumps I've taken in the past 15 years. If I was an exceptionally good wrestler I would be on the road full-time and you guys would be making comments about me on the RAW/SDL/Theoretical #2 Fed pages but I wouldn't know or care, right? The fact at my age and as banged up as I am, I can still go 40-50 times a year and I genuinely enjoy the experiences is enough. Last night I had a fun show where I put over a young lady (Bambi Hall) in the Main Event of a show where the building was too warm and the show had gone too long, and despite the crowd being exhausted we had them eating out of the palms of our hands and living and dying with everything we did in there. And then I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning enjoying talking about the business with four other workers over a few beers. Sure I'd prefer to be making enough bank to be able to buy front row tickets to Mayweather/MacGregor on a whim, but this will do me just fine. My only beef on this board is when someone has to be smart and go "well this shit is all fake anyway," because why the fuck are you commentating on pro wrestling simply to bitch that it's fake? Fuck off. Is there a Magician Message Board where dicks are constantly commenting THAT ELEPHANT DIDN'T DISAPPEAR IT WAS MIRRORZ!!!1!

  5. Also, making the announcement on LABOR DAY has got to be up there with the dumbest things WWE has done. And if it's a rib on the talent, that's even worse.

  9. Yeah, I understand your frustration, but most fans are perfectly happy with the ending and like speculating on what it all means. That's half the fun, to me. It's a cliffhanger but it's open ended and up to your interpretation. Just like most things involving Twin Peaks, really. It's just really amusing to see all the hate and "why didn't they resolve everything!" stuff when, y'know, this is a David Lynch project and it's not like he's known for that sort of thing. If you didn't gather from Episode 1 that this isn't going to be what you wanted out of a new season of Twin Peaks... then I don't really know what to tell you. It was always really on the nose about what this season was all about, and how people made it all the way through still thinking Lynch was going to end this with no lingering questions just absolutely dumbfounds me to my core. It's not what he does, and I don't know why people think he would change his ways now. EDIT: Unlike Horton, if there's a S4 (and I absolutely think there will be and it'll be the final one), I'm all in. I don't care if I'm the only one in this thread talking about it, I'll always watch more Twin Peaks. Oh, and just to piss some people off: If 10 is the number of completion like stated in the finale... S1 + S2 + S3 + S4 = 10.

  17. I agree to an extent, so I'm thinking it ought to be an over the top, anime looking one like it is but just less "I rushed out and this was the only thing the dollar store had". I love his character and for one hope he doesn't just drop the evil and daaaaarkness (Joe!) now that he's ascending to the top.

  19. It's actually closer to 20 divorces. There were some shotgun weddings and annulments in New Zealand and Tokyo, plus the time he married Jack Veneno to avoid a riot in the Dominican Republic.

  21. I'm just disappointed that when Sasha said that a fatal four way would drop Alexa's chances of wining to 25%, she didn't use Steiner math to give herself a 500% chance of winning. "The numbers don't lie Alexa, and they spell disaster for you at No Mercy!"

  23. I don't know if being on a sideshow youtube video counts as being a celebrity but what I do know is the video everyone is talking about took place on the Saturday night after Takeover. That day Sasha had multiple signings (where these people could have attended), make-a-wish obligations, NXT obligations and now it's midnight or later and she wants to eat a pizza with her husband. Does she owe the fans and the company 24 hours of the day?

  24. MacLachlan's acting was pretty limited this season. Sure, he played multiple versions of the character, but one was a barely functional imbecile, one was completely devoid of emotion and regular Cooper was barely in it. It was mostly just lots of blank-faced staring. I could see him winning a staring contest, but not an Emmy.

  28. I too felt something: moderate irritation over the time I invested in this show. I dunno. i was a big Lynch fan 20 years ago. Now it feels like an "emperor has no clothes' sort of thing where Lynch can film literally anything and people will praise it and look for the deeper meanings because it's David Lynch. I don't really need or want every tv show to explain everything to me at the end of the season, and tie all the answers up with a nice bow, but I do want a strong narrative, internal logic, a sense of action and consequence. I'm not really into weirdness for the sake of weirdness or shock endings that make no sense and change the game because those things are too easy. It's a lot easier to be funny or shocking when you don't have to play within a narrative framework and are just throwing disjoined scenes up on the screen for your fans to ohhh and ahhh over. It's a lot harder when you have to be consistent with that scene you did last week or explain the motivation or actually tell a satisfying story. I feel like Lynch gives lots of great set pieces, but has forgotten how to tell a conventional narrative. I think this season was probably great in an artistic sense, but I would have found it more satisfying if a showrunner with less vision had taken control and just given us a good vs. evil story that had better defined roles of characters and gave us a more satisfying conclusion. I jumped into this season because of the nostalgia factor, but I've had enough Lynch nostalgia to last another decade or two and I'm not really attached to any of the characters, so if' there's another season, I'm out.

  30. There were a ton of big Joshi events from mid to late August, and some of them have now made TV. Here are some of my favorite matches from the set: August 11th - Arisa Nakajima and Mima Shimoda vs. Nanae Takahashi and Tsukasa Fujimoto in SEAdLINNNG August 13th – Mayu Iwatani vs. Kagetsu in Stardom (Samurai TV Version) August 20th – Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. Hikaru Shida in OZ Academy August 24th – Arisa Nakajima and Tsukasa Fujimoto vs. Misaki Ohata and Ryo Mizunami in SEAdLINNNG I think that Hiroyo Matsumoto is having the best year of any Joshi wrestler, most would lean towards Io Shirai due to visibility (and the fact she is great) but Hiroyo has done so much this year against a wider variety of opponents. And people into attendances, four promotions had events with 1K+ announced attendances in August, which is always a good thing: WAVE, OZ Academy, PURE-J, and Ice Ribbon. Its nice to see multiple promotions at least drawing for their big events.
