Can you imagine what it must have been like when those two went out to party after a show? Andre drinking gallons of beer, Dusty calling up Dick Murdoch looking for that dang ol mule.Imagine the mufflers.4 points

As long as there's a place where BINGO is not presently being played. As long as there's a fat tub of goo in camo shorts, a cut up Megadeth shirt, and a desire to tell kids in the front row to know their roles and shut their mouths. As long as there's another fat tub of goo who has a desire to watch grown men roll around on a mat while chanting "Show Your Tits!" at women. There will always be indie wrestling.3 points

I don't know why I am even bothering after that Mark Henry as Rick Ross photo.1 point

Because for years and years any guy who was a heavyweight or a superheavyweight but didn't do headdroppy, fighting spirit all-japan stuff was reviled. All people wanted was quick-quick-movez-y workrate stuff. Mark Henry has presence. He makes every movement matter. He's great at knowing when to give and when to take. He has astoundingly credible offense. Yeah, he also bumps big when he has to, but there's probably two-three generations of fans that were weaned on workrate and Henry doesn't hit those marks. He hits marks that are endlessly better. He's not at all a Meltzer-ian wrestler and he's sure not a Scott Keith-ian one either, and you can't really enjoy him in that wrestlecrap ironic way without shitting on everything that makes him great. Basically, you have to think outside the box of the "schools" of smarky online wrestling fandom to enjoy him and it's hard for most people to escape their roots.1 point

Can you imagine what would have happened to you if you didn't end up here, kid? You guys wouldn't like Mark Henry!1 point

It's a stupid rule that refs will only enforce when they feel like it. Which means it will cost someone a playoff game. Awesome.1 point

You guys worrying about missing out on vanilla midget flippy dudes are missing one huge problem: a new, good big man hasn't debuted since Big Show. That's why we need the Performance Centre. And before you start on with HOW ABOUT BROCK or YOU FORGOT BATISTA I mean proper big men. Not large, muscular dudes.1 point

I think the big problem with WWE is that they need more new faces in the mix. People have taken to Daniel Bryan because he's relatively new on the WWE scene, much like they took to Punk. But he's still facing Randy Orton and Triple H, who have both been around forever. John Cena's been on top for years now. Orton is one of the least compelling main eventers ever. J.R. made a great point about people overstaying their welcome - if it means getting rid of some old faces to bring up some new ones, so be it.1 point
-
But it has been fucked up. Bryan is less over, less exciting than when he entered this storyline. How can the common fan believe in him after he repeatedly failed to hold onto the belt and outsmart the heels? The one thing you never do is let your fans down when it matters, and Bryan was booked to do so.1 point

I recently re-read Gary Hart's autobiography. I've only read four wrestling books (also Lou Thesz's, J.J. Dillon's and The Assassin's), but Gary Hart's book blew them all out of the water, as much as I liked them. Hart's book is just... a very good book and a very entertaining read an sich, without needing the addendum 'for a wrestling book'. He's very candid about everything, including Gino Fernandez and the Von Erichs, and he talks a lot about what spawned certain gimmicks and angles and what goes on in the booking office and how shows and companies are run. Anyone else here as big a fan of the book as I am?1 point

As far as all-time bad teams go I still have a soft spot in my heart for the 93 Sharks and Jeff Hackett's 2 wins 30 losses and 5.28 GAA.1 point

Horrible game for Rose, but I just knew that last one was going in. Wild stuff. CP3 also added 5 steals to go along with the 42-15 line. At one point in the 3rd quarter the Clippers did this: I missed you, NBA.1 point

I liked the trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. I just hope it isn't too busy with most of the cast from the oriignal X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class meeting up. I also like this:1 point

SHUT THE INTERNET DOWN. This wins. Also was that Halloween Havoc 2000 ad supposed to be in reference to something in particular? That was when my interest in WCW was at an all time low but I cant remember anything futuristic or historic or whatever about that show.1 point

If they're getting "paid" so much, why do the coaches not get "paid" similarly? You can't buy a pair of shoes or a shirt with a scholarship. For that you gotta go get a job that pays actual cash except, oh yeah, players aren't allowed to have jobs. There's also the fact that not every player is on a full scholarship. Lots of starters, including a whole bunch of kickers, aren't on scholarship. And that's not even addressing the whole licensing deal where the NCAA sells player gear - remember the NCAA's own web site returned results if you searched for "Johnny Manziel" on it - but giving the players none of the cut. And all of that ignores the fundamental unfairness of players not being allowed to market themselves. OK, fine, you don't wanna have the NCAA pay players. Cool. No problem. Tell me why Manziel shouldn't be able to sit down for an afternoon and sign some photos to make some $$$?1 point

I love the idea that Bischoff can somehow turn things around. Um...he's the reason they're in the mess they are now. The idea that things are going to change if he gets 100% control is ludicrous. He STILL thinks you can build a promotion around Hulk Hogan in 2013, for God's sake.1 point
-
I just don't see the evidence that Bisch could possibly succeed. I mean, the last 15 years haven't shown any reason to think Bischoff has anything left to give that actually helps a wrestling company.1 point
