Yeah, presumably the Bus to Washington crew will return to the Church and we'll get the whole crew united to assault the hospital as the half season finale.

And he's been right. Everybody else is like, "No, Rick, everybody doesn't have to die. Let's just get out of here", and every time Rick listens and keeps getting screwed over.

Yeah I feel its not so much that Rick wants to kill everybody they meet so much as he has gained the sixth sense to know when he should probably kill someone because they likely will try to kill them later on.

Rick has learned that threats should be eliminated quickly and decisively, lest they come back to bite him on the ass.  He's not fucking around anymore.  As a wise man on another great show once said, "no more half measures."

So who's dying tonight?

Probably Sasha or Tyrese. Off the wall guess would be Judith, after Father Gabriel unwittingly leads walkers to the hole he made in the floor of the church. That would be the worst and would make Norman Reedus cry.

Have you not noticed that they're stealthily trying to make this show have a majority minority cast? If anyone's dying, it's a white person.

It's a fucking TV show, yet by the end all but one of us were at various points of being misty-eyed.  There was the casual wipe of a tear, all the way up to my friend who had a hard time saying anything.

Hardwick was right, those that are the most level-headed ended up going.  Beth reached that point, should have seen it coming.

The actual death would have been sad, but not super sad like with Hershel or others.  But fucking Daryl Dixon crying his eyes out along with the rest amped the sadness factor ten-fold.  Maggie losing it was a tough one also (had to be reminded they were sisters)  Then they show the "In Memoriam" bit on Talking Dead with all that in slow motion and the text that followed.  Son of a bitch.

Like I said, it's a fucking TV show.  And people might not be down with the shock factor of it all.  But yeah, in that moment it was tough to watch.

Whoever directed last night really knocked it out of the park.  The open with Rick's execution, Dawn's fight scene, the off-kilter prisoner exchange and Beth's death were all fantastic and really elevated the episode above the typical week-to-week experience.

Maaaaaaaan, I must be a heartless prick, because last night's episode did nothing for me. At the best of times, I find this show ridiculous and kind of frustrating, but admittedly I have been enjoying the heck out of this year (outside of silly things like Carol being a dead eye, crack shot at 200 yard Roman Candle shoots). Last night's mid-season finale was just sort of there. They spent 2 episodes planning the exchange and it amounted to walking in the front door with their guns holstered? Lady Governor wasn't really much of a villain and Beth is a poor Carol. Nice of Maggie to remember she has a sister in time to break down over her death. And now what do they do? They've already snuffed the Washington angle, so they left the mid-season finale without any sort of cliffhanger or direction. "Come back next year, they're gonna be wandering around the backwoods of Georgia....again....forever...."

I fully expected to come into this thread to a whole bunch of "That's it...?" or "I'm supposed to be gutted over milquetoast Beth?", but instead you're all sad about it. That's fine, I can accept the problem being me.

How did they snuff the Washington angle?  There is more than one road and I would think, given their experience on the highway already, it would be safer to take the back roads.

Yeah...episode was just there. Darryl's breaking down got to me. Stupid, useless Beth being stupid and useless didn't. No idea what direction they are going next season. Blah...this fuckin show...

That was going to happen anyway, be it Washington or Georgia.  I am not sure why they did it now unless it was to just shatter everyone's hopes and dreams which seems to be a recurring theme this season.  Lots of desperation from start to finish.  It has been a dark first half to the season with them searching for hope.

As much as it shocked me last night Beth was my least favorite character.

Since Season Two I have always thought that the series should be subtitled Rick's Descent Into Madness.

I was shocked by the ending. All I can think is that the 2nd half of this season is gonna be wild. I think Morgan is gonna cross path with the group at some point Idk if its gonna be good or bad. But with the crew being 16 deep right now there has to be some more deaths coming.
