Main Event Spoilers:

* Kevin Owens defeated Dolph Ziggler

Smackdown Spoilers:

* SmackDown opens with WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse out for MizTV. The got really good heat to start. Zack Ryder interrupts and The Miz teased that he would give Ryder a title shot but Ryder’s already booked in a match with Baron Corbin

* Baron Corbin got the easy win over Zack Ryder. After the match, Corbin beat Ryder down again but Dolph Ziggler made the save and they brawled

* Emma defeated Paige in a quick match

* Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated The Ascension to advance in the tag team tournament

* AJ Styles defeated Alberto Del Rio

* Backstage comedy segment with Fandango and The Golden Truth

* The Vaudevillains defeated Goldust and R-Truth in a quick match to advance in the tag team tournament

Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho was a hot main event with Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens on commentary, and providing distractions. Good action in the ring and entertaining stuff outside. Owens interfered to cause the disqualification, which led to the babyfaces standing tall to end Smackdown.

Not a bad show considering most of the crew is on it's way to Europe.

So is Paige on the outs politically or something?

I'm thinking it's just a case of Emma having a program with Becky coming up.

Paige is still on Total Divas and just defeated Emma last week on Main Event.

Apparently - they had Anderson and Gallows attack a local indy team before the tapings started.

But since it wasn't on TV and this is the internet - I have seen folks be all THEY ARE BURIED ALREADY!!!!

I attended the show last night. Here are more detailed results...

--Two local guys were introduced for a dark match only for Anderson and Gallows to come out of the crowd and lay them out. Anderson grabbed the mic and announced nobody could stop them.

MAIN EVENT TAPINGS

--Kalist0 pinned Heath Slater. Curtis Axel jumped on the apron, but Kalisto was able to kick him and hit the Salida del Sol.

--Apollo Crews pinned Bo Dallas. The Social Outcasts stuck around and decided to take out their frustrations on the next superstar to come down the ramp. Axel and Rose tried to interfere, but were caught by the ref who promptly ejected them. Crews hit the spin-out powerbomb for the pin.

--Kevin Owens defeated Dolph Ziggler. Really good match with KO scoring the pinfall after a pop-up powerbomb.

The ring crew set up for MizTV as Maryse made her entrance followed by the Smackdown opening and pyros. AJ vs. Alberto Del Rio and Sami Zayn vs. Y2J are hyped.

--MizTV: Zack Ryder interrupted Miz and Maryse’s make out session and demanded another shot at the IC Title. Miz said Ryder already had another opponent scheduled.

--Baron Corbin pinned Zack Ryder with the End of Days. Corbin tried to attack after the match until Ziggler made the save.

Kevin Owens is interviewed by Renee Young and insinuates he may get involved in the main event.

--Emma beat Paige. Paige tried a superplex, but Emma slipped underneath and sent her face first into the turnbuckles for the pinfall. Quick match.

--Enzo & Cass defeated The Ascension. Cass hit Viktor with a Bossman Slam to set up the Rocket Launcher for the win.

AJ Styles is interviewed by Jojo and has a confrontation with Del Rio.

--AJ Styles pinned Alberto Del Rio. ADR hit AJ with a nasty looking inverted superplex where AJ almost landed on his head. ADR dodged the Phenomenal Forearm and tried the cross armbreaker only for AJ to reverse it into an Oklahoma roll for the pin.

Golden Truth do a backstage skit in which Goldust chooses Fandango to be his partner instead.

--The Vaudevillains defeated Goldust & Fandango. Goldust never even tagged into the match. Fandango got in some offense, but Vaudevillains quickly took over and finished him with the Whirling Dervish.

Weird segment as Darren Young and Bob Backlund were shown in a split-screen on the Titantron. Young asked Backlund to be his life coach, but the former 2-time WWE Champion said he’d been a wrestling coach, but never a life coach. Then, Backlund realized wrestling was life and took the job.

Jojo interviews Y2J who calls San Diego a dump and the only good thing about the city was when he beat Austin and Rock back-to-back to become the Undisputed Champion.

Another segment from Primo and Epico: Puerto Rican Tourism Board.

--Sami Zayn beat Chris Jericho by DQ. Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose came out to do guest commentary. Jericho attacked Ambrose on the floor only to turn around and get backdropped by Zayn into KO. Zayn sets up for the Helluva Kick, but Owens runs in for the DQ. Ambrose makes the save.

--Zayn & Ambrose beat Jericho & Owens. This was probably a dark match. Jericho gets tossed outside as Owens gets pinned following the Helluva Kick and Dirty Deeds

God Jerry Lawler is bad.  Like they make a big deal out of changing the Women's Title, had Dr. Phil putting them over as athletes, trumpet the 3-way match stealing the show at WM, and there you have Lawler: "If Paige were a fruit, she'd be a fineapple!"

Miz/Maryse are a great sleazebag of a duo. So are Enzo/Cass (damn, that garish little bastard can talk). Vaudevillians are good but a spinning neckbreaker for a finish sucks.

Well, unless I missed it (which I well might have) I didn't see any Young and Backlund; were they on or did they can that?

Zayn/Jericho: Jericho continues his midlife crisis but is acknowledging it now at least. ...aaaaaand here comes Renee's least favorite interview, and her boyfriend who is handing out photocopies of the flyer for the debut of his new punk band AMBROSE ASYLUM which obviously must consist of him yelling and banging on a dumpster in an alleyway. It doesn't even have an address on it, after all!

Sami and Chris have what appears to be a fine match overshadowed by Ambrose and Owens who bicker over everyone to the extent it seems like they actually turn them down on the audio. The cluster at the end looked nice and reckless and it would be nice to see that dark match. Presumably that's what they're building to, at least at a go-home show before they have separate matches.

Vicious Evil Emma is the best. It looked liked AJ's foot got caught under the buckle on the way over so that head drop wasn't really Del Rio's fault. Goldust made the Vaudevillians look good when he was in there. Enzo was a little sloppy, but he had the crowd into it for the hot tag. Nice main event segment as well. NXT Smackdown is a fun show.

Almost seems surreal to see Emma and Paige in sort of a role reversal where Emma is now the pushed one, getting more TV time, promos, and a match being actually built up. But it's great to see for Emma, who continues to kill it every time out. She is coming off like a total star as of late.

Maryse & Miz continue to be awesome together and Styles/Alberto was pretty good stuff.

Can you imagine just how much trouble Del Rio would have been in if AJ got injured? It would be Matt Striker saying "We all know who THAT is!" the year after next more than likely.

Was busy doing shit while the Emma/Paige match was on but I dig Emma's dark lipstick and the darkening up of her music, as well.

I forget which match but there was a point during the show where Lawler was going to go off on how hot Carrie Fisher used to be and Mauro just shut him down by talking about the action.

I think it was actually Mauro saying "Have you seen Carrie Fisher's Twitter lately" and Lawler responded "No but I've seen Carrie Fisher lately" in a derogatory way as if to say "Eww she's old now" (To be fair, she is older than Lawler's ideal woman by 50ish years).

But there was a part where Mauro was giving the Japanese pronounciation of a move and Lawler said "I had some moshi cakes the other day" (Making fun of the Japanese name) and waited for Mauro to say something and he just said "Pump handle" and went back to calling the match and sounded really irritated about it.
