Uh, that's probably because Jim is old enough to have seen Piper in his prime as a talker even if Jim wasn't in those regions of the country where Piper was. How many folks comparing him to Piper would have seen Piper at his apex? Speaking of that, last week, I saw Chael Sonnen cut a promo right before his his silly exhibition boxing bout with Anderson Silva. He CLEARLY saw Piper in Oregon or thereabouts even though he was probably a small child in Milwaukie, OR. Matter of fact, apparently, that was where Don Owen's wrestlers use to stay.

Lawful Metal Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 random question: What wrestlers started out as jobbers on Dark that ended up on the main roster and thriving. I can only think of two -- Hobbs and Skye Blue. Anyone else? I know Cora Jade went to NXT after starting on Dark as Elena Black. Not sure if that counts.
Technico Support Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Quick note for my non-US Triller AEW+ folks: Revolution 2020 is currently free to watch. Go get yourselves some Bucks vs Omega & Page goodness. Edited June 20, 2024 by Technico Support 1 1
NikoBaltimore Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I ordered this from B/R in the past and they kindly went and deleted most of my order history when I recently went back in. So unless a support chat fixes the issue the free views on Triller are my main way to see the show. That aside I can't put my finger on it but looking at this the overall presentation just feels fresher back then. I'm not even talking the logo or set design but there's just something about it that just works for me. Maybe it's the slicker production nowadays and me rejecting it without knowing I am? Possibly. But I think part of it is also they were trying so many things to make the PPVs stick out that I wish would be attempted again. For one the lighted bracelets they gave up was so unique and added something to the crowd presentation. Surely doing that one time in the future wouldn't hurt, right? 1

Fallon as Tesha Price was also on a few later on. As someone who didn't really start paying attention to AEW until All Out 2021, was there a particular point where Dark turned into the beloved indie showcase?
Log Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Shane O = Wild Card who faces Jarrett in the Owen cup. He goes on to win the whole thing and takes the title off Osprey at All In. But really that "news" is just further proof we need an eye-roll emoji. 1 1

So between her, Madi Wrenkowski/Wren Sinclair and Elena Black/Cora Jade it almost feels easier to see who were extras on Dark that are/were on NXT TV. Because that seems to me that somebody in NXT was smartly watching Dark/Elevation for a while and seeing who could help in rebuilding NXT. 2

Bowens' AEW debut was teaming with Lee Johnson, losing to Chaos Project. Whilst Caster's AEW debut, he was teaming with Luther and Serpentico, in a loss to the Jurassic Express (Saurus/Boy/Stunt). 3
Casey Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) RUSH is supposedly “banned” from Forbidden Door, possibly every year it happens. Even though CMLL/AAA issues have been worked out in regards to that show and talent appearing on TV etc etc. And if they’re going to continue to book Stephanie Vaquer, maybe that’s for the best. I honestly rather watch her than anything of his anyway. Edited June 20, 2024 by Casey 2

I am surprised this didn't come up here on the board when that first came back to light some months back. Maybe I missed it I guess. That and apparently multiple notable people came out and ardently backed said abuser.
